Cool place based around this historic Westport heritage home. The main building appeared a bit rundown, but is also sprawling and ~150yrs old, so very much understandable and I did not actually stay in this building, as most of the rooms are in newer cabins surrounding it. Kitchens were spacious and had everything one would need.

Nothing in particular; I spent maybe, 9 hours here and 90% of that time asleep, so it was more than fine for a place to rest your head.

Lovely staff, great shared and well equipped kitchen facilities. Nice garden area and places to sit outside. Easy walk to shopping area.

1st time we stayed - it is a youth hostel so overall equal to my expectations. Our room was quite small and dark. The bathrooms (shared) were close - but hard to know when it was in use without barging in on someone. 2nd time we stayed - we got a room in the newer section of the hostel which was bigger - cleaner and brighter and the bathrooms were much nicer too.

I love the upstairs ensuite room where I've stayed many times now. The room was spotless, bed comfortable, so peaceful, plenty hot water and good pressure. I was delighted to get a discount for my YHA membership.

I guess a small fridge in the room and fresh milk would be perfect. The kitchen facilities downstairs are excellent, but when paying the extra for a room with tea making facilities provided in the room, it would make sense to provide a wee fridge as a motel would.

Comfortable room with ensuite bathroom in a lovely old home - it’s now a YHA hostel. Good facilities with well equipped communal kitchen & living areas. Friendly hosts

This is an amazing place really the main house is gorgeous. Theres a huge front lounge with a massive stack of dvds to watch and a fireplace and another smaller lounge with big dining table. Huge kitchen and large toilet/shower block. We were staying in sleepout in the back section of the Hostel deck attached. Not huge inside but beds were comfortable and it was very clean. Very friendly owner with friendly cat and small dog to welcome you in. Large deck with huge chairs and tables, perfect for dining in summer plus pretty sunny backyard, Very impressed definitely recommend. and very close to main streets of Westport.

Maybe slightly larger room, other than that can't fault it. Quiet considering it was very full when we stayed.

Super clean. Super friendly. Great amenities including a large well equipped kitchen with plenty of space for everyone. Nice outdoor seating area for the summer (also a large Indoor area with a fire place for the cooler months). Great location where you can walk to everywhere in town. Plenty of car parking. I liked the friendly cat and dog "staff" as well. Our room with big and bright with a comfortable bed (and not a whiff of dampness that can often be smelled in villas). I would stay here again if I go back to Westport. Don't forget your own toiletries as none as supplied.

The room was great, normally would take four people in a bunkroom but there weren't many guests and I had the room to myself. There are plenty of rooms (at least 10) so there is a good chance that you would have the same when not busy. This is a classic old house with tranquil spaces and coal fire.

No complaints. This is a backpackers so I had expectations of shred accommodation but it was much better than I expected.

Nothing really, I was after a cheap nights accommodation to break up a long drive and I felt this met expectations nicely. The staff member who greeted me was probably a little on the brisk and efficient side but provided all the info I needed.

The apartment (cabin) we had was spacious and clean, and the beds were simple but ok. Communication with staff was great. The main area (main house) had an atmosphere of old manor. The kitchen is big as in some restoutlrant. Common bathrooms were fine.

The room equipment & beds were really basic (compared to other NZ accommodation), but I can't complain much.
