The facility was nice, clean, and very tidy. the bathroom was amazingly clean 👌🏼. Was just perfect for a wee getaway with the husband. The upstairs pods were very spacious also . The bed was sooo comfortable with crisp sheets and blankets . AC provided comfortability, especially being summer in whakatane, so it was a perfect stay . Thank you to the Com staff for making sure the rooms are immaculate and the lovely ladies at reception x The wee Whittakers chocolates 🍫 are such a bonus also . Thank you

Nothing i could say I didn't like possibly more milks and bottles of water other than that the stay was perfect .

Have stayed before, so only stayed there a second time as we knew it was clean, tidy and you feel safe staying. Plus staff are fantastic. Overall a great easy place to stay with good parking and really nice clean and fresh rooms.

The only thing I'm not that fussed about is not having a small sink near the kitchen, as it feels weird having to go to the bathroom to clean dishes etc. Sadly eating next door at the 'Commercial Hotel' was a massive let down - we had been there a couple of years before, however the new owner are doing it a massive disservice, so time for them to look at critical feedback and sort it out or loose customers!

Took our breakfast with us. It has only been built for 4 years and is new. The location was excellent a short walk to the main street. The Com is attached to the Pub the Commercial Hotel so could pop in for a drink or a meal if you liked. The building design was quite different with separate motel rooms(almost a tiny home) separated by empty garages on two levels Our room had lovely afternoon sun. Plenty of parking and space. Built in front of the big rock cliffs of Whakatane and the Tuis were very busy in the bush in the morning - lovely.

The staff were very friendly, the cleanliness of the room was amazing. We also had our room serviced and it was so great to walk back into our room with our bed made, fresh towels and they also restocked our cookies (which was greatly appreciated ☺️).

The bed was quite uncomfortable. We were in the ‘DAN’ room and we noticed that there was a camera on the newer units across from us pointing directly into our room(which we didn’t appreciate as we had our curtain shut most of our stay because of this). On our second night there was a lot of noise and racket coming from the other rooms, even with the bar below you couldn’t hear them but the other guest were very loud during our second night.

Cleanliness, location short walk and you were in town or you could walk to the pub and have a meal and a beer, Staff and ample parking with space for Utes and other big vehicles

Cost, was over pried in our opinion

This place feels brand new, fresh and clean with almost individual "pods" stacked together. This means you have no immediate neighbour which is hugely appealing, but the rooms aren't small. They have a generous sized bed and spacious relaxing space, with spotless bathroom, decent sized shower, great pressure. We particularly appreciated the air con on the really hot summer days we were there, as well as lovely bright airy room to relax in. Not too far from Ohope beach and a short walk into town. Pub right next door is not noisy and the food is ok.

The location was great and the size of the room and shower/bathroom was excellent. I will definately stay here again.

The only thing I didn't like is whatever they use to fragrance the room - almost every motel I go to smells the same and it is strong and overpowering. Also I'd like a safety latch on the bathroom window, I would have like to leave it open to let out some of the "motel fragrance", there was also another window in my room which I would have left open if the safety latch enabled it to be closed a little more - if that makes sense. As I was travelling on my own I didn't want to risk leaving windows open during the night where people if they really wanted to, could have got in. Probably highly unlikely but you never know.

Very nice stay, pretty well on the wharf, the room was modern and had what was expected, staff were great, very accomodating and knowledgeable on things to do in the area. Bar/ restaurant on the property. There’s a nice little waterfall literally behind the complex; great place for a little picnic or just to keep the kids entertained for a bit. Also a kids playground/ water park/ swimming area (Public/ Free) 2min drive down the road, 10-20minute walk depending on pace.

No laundry on site to wash our clothes but there was a public one just a short walk away.

We liked the modern look and feel of this hotel! Our room was ready by 2, when we arrived, so that was nice! This motel is very close to all the shops and restaurants downtown, but just a bit beyond the busiest part, which is a good thing. There is also bar/restaurant right next door. We didn't try it, but wanted to, as it looked teally nice! The parking was well designed; we parked right outside our room.

No bathtub.

Friendly staff, lovely room. I had a room on upper level, was able to see down and around. Stairs felt confident to walk up and down even when wet. The feeling of space. Hearing the waterfall from outside my room.

2 noisy motorbikes that went past at about 6:30 Tuesday morning that woke me. The other nights it was nice to go to sleep and wake with no traffic noise.
