The location was perfect. Next to a Hard Rock Cafe, 3 minutes walk to supermarket, 5 minutes walk to tourist information for booking and meeting point to different tours, 5 minutes walk to city center and lits of restaurants and cafes. Shuttle bus to airport in front of the hotel. Same for the city bus station network. The room was large, the beds were comfortable. It was always warm, floor heating system. We didn’t want to pay extra for the view, and I regretted after, because we spent some time inside due to a lot of snowing. The breakfast was vey good. Many variants. I really liked the interior of the place. You can choose to have your room cleaned evey day or every other day.

I do not have complaints.

Great variety of options for breakfast; even the option to prepare some breakfast-to-go in case you had to leave early in the morning while the restaurant was not serving breakfast yet. Great location and easily accessible from the airport by bus or by taxi (15 min). The bus stop is right outside of the hotel entrance. The stuff was very kind and helpful. Our hotel room was very spacious. I liked the fact that there was a sofa and a mini fridge as well in the room.

On arrival, we were asked by the receptionist whether we would like to have our room cleaned every other day or every day. We chose every other day. However, the rubbish from our room were picked up 3/4 days (no idea why it was not picked the day before we left) and the towels were not changed at all. We also found the room very hot, especially during the night. The duvet didn't help. We had switched off the radiator of the room but we think some heat was definitely coming out in the room somehow. The thermostat of the room was set at 27C but we could not control that.

Lovely new, clean room suitable for our family of four. Beds were so comfortable and the showers were hot with great pressure. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing, one of the best I’ve had at any hotel. Breakfast runs late too, to accommodate guests who have been out late seeking the northern lights. We had an early flight out and there was a mini buffet with items that you could eat in the foyer or take to-go, which was greatly appreciated.

The room was quite warm and you couldn’t seem to adjust the temperature but you could open the window to let fresh air in so it was ok. Very hot when you woke in the morning though.

Good warm comfortable room and cozy beds. Was given a room with good view on 6th floor. I was lucky to be able to get some northern lights view from the window. Hotel is located nicely at the end of the main street. Surrounded by restaurants and an asian grocery store is just a stone throw away. If you are keen to save a little bit of airport transfer money, the bus number 42, less than 100m away from the hotel brings you to the airport.

Surprised to see that there was no water boiler in the room. But there are complimentary free coffee/tea/hot water beside the reception counter.

Great 24 hour service desk at the Scandinavian Grand Tromso. Comfortable, quiet and clean room, great bathroom, shower only which suits us, generous breakfast, comfortable lounge where we could spend time and help ourselves to tea/coffee before joining our boat at 11.45pm. Also we appreciated having use of a luggage store so we could easily walk around Tromso during the day. Thank you to the staff who upgraded our room given my husband had just been released from Tromso hospital after a major health incident. We would stay here again.

Instead of a stool, I would prefer another chair to sit in when there are two people in the room.

Our room was upgraded so we got 8th floor room with a view. Rooms were appropriate for the price, clean and comfy. Breakfast has a good selection and good quality of foodstuff. Check-in and checkout was very easy.

Below the hotel there seems to be a noisy club, we were not affected at all since our rooms were upgraded to 8th floor, but you could be disappointed if you choose the cheapest rooms. There is no parking, you have to park in a public parking garage below city centre.

We flew in from Oslo and reached ahead of check in time - they gave us an early check in! Room was quite nice - but quite stuffy as well and we needed fans and had to keep window open - recommend that for the summers! Washroom is also large enough - the shower stall was a little weird with foldable doors that needed to be folded one way or other. Room size was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was a decent spread with some options for vegetarians. Black coffee was free for all residents. Staff at the hotel were exceptionally helpful and really deserve more than pat on their back. Property also had washing machine / dryer for self-laundry which was great. Location is also fantastic.

Nothing really. Just the heat in the room!

The hotel is basic but covers all the important bases well. The room was clean, beds comfortable and there were no leaks or issues in the bathroom. The shower was hot and powerful - no leaks either. The hotel is well located in the centre with most of the city based attractions being in walking distance. The breakfasts were a busy affair, the food was well presented, hot when it needed to be and a good selection available. Reception staff were all very helpful and spoke excellent English.

There isn't really any space other than your room to relax in. There is no bar at the hotel.

Scandic Grand is very well situated with friendly and helpful staff. We had a great view and could even see the aurora through our window on the two days the skies were clear.

While the breakfast was quite good, the organization of space made it a bit chaotic, frantic, and difficult to maneuver. I think the number of tables was insufficient relative to the capacity of the hotel but the staff worked hard to ensure tables were cleared as soon as they became free.

Great location! Gorgeous view from my 8th floor room. Breakfast was very good, with a good variety. The location is convenient and close to everything.

The room was not ready for check-in until after 4:00. Be aware that you are not guaranteed to be checked in at 3:00. Housekeeping did not place more toilet tissue in my room when it was cleaned. When I asked reception for more, the young man said he could not provide me with more because he was working at the hotel alone. After repeatedly telling him I couldn’t go without tissue, he tossed a box of Kleenex on the counter. His nonchalant, and non-caring attitude was unnecessary. Unfortunately, stores were closed for Christmas, so I was unable to find tissue other than Kleenex at the 7-Eleven.
