This charming boutique hotel was perfect for our Cusco stay, because it was small, traditional and very welcoming. Close enough to the main square and lots of restaurants, shops and attractions but far enough to avoid the crowds. Within less than 10 mins walk to the main Plaza it made for an outstanding Cusco experience. Even though the property was on a charming narrow street up a hill, its ok for those with mobility challenges because taxis are plentiful, cheap and easily accessible. The facilities were within a beautiful old property and the rooms included a full bath and other amenities. All the Staff was exceptional and cared for every need or wish from its guests. They communicated efficiently with our group, arranged transportation from and to the airport, offered a variety of tour option and food recommendations, etc. To top the stay, the well appointed buffet breakfast was nice and included made to order items which made for a terrific start of the day. The staff bent over backwards to satisfy and serve the guests, exceeding our expectations and making this stay a fantastic experience. For our very early Machu Pichuu tour departure, they even set us up with a bagged snack to ensure that we had something to eat. I highly recommend this Hotel for a Cusco stay!

I found nothing that we did not like in this property! The only thing to look for was the shower's hot water use. At worst it was lukewarm (probably if it coincided with other guests water usage) and at best it was steaming hot.

Rooms have a heater and comfy bed. The free a la carte breakfast was wonderful. You can choose from your choice of eggs, bread, juices/coffee/tea, yogurt, granola, etc. The hotel can arrange a private taxi to the airport for you for just 25 soles. There is hot water/coca available in the lobby but it would have been nice if I could have my own water kettle in my room.

The hotel is located on top of a hill, but it is also just a 10 minute walk to the main plaza area. I got taxis upon arrival and departure so it was not a big deal for me. Also I could hear people outside talking from my room.

- Super friendly and helpful staff speaks good english - they will do everything possible to make your stay as comfortable as possible) - Clean room - Always hot water in the shower - Heater in the room - Great internet - Good location (bit steep but not a disaster) - Possibility to leave your luggage in the hotel’s storage room when going for a multi day trip - Tasty and filling breakfast (possible to do a breakfast package for early tours - ham and cheese sandwich +water) - Great selection of TV movies and shows in English

- Rooms facing the street are extremely noisy and you can hear every single car passing by (we recommend booking a superior room which is more expensive but on the other hand you can be sure you will sleep peacefully) - we had to change a room to superior - Breakfast is served by staff (not a self-served buffet) and is the same every single day (eggs of your choice, bread, juice, coffee/tea, fruit bowl, granola, yogurt) - but we stayed almost 4 weeks that's why it can get a bit “boring” after some time - Entrance to/exit from the hotel is managed by a receptionist (they always need to open the main door for you) although we never waited more than several seconds

All the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly which really made us feel at home and certainly well looked after. The breakfast was great as was the location being so close to plaza de armas. Shower had hot water all the time.

The room no 11 on the ground floor although having a small balcony didn’t have any window view from the bed which only faced the bathroom door. As the room is very close to reception we could here all the conversations between people arriving and leaving.

I highly recommend a stay at Gold Garden. The service is impeccable, they go over and beyond to ensure that your experience is positive. The room was beautiful, comfortable and kept very clean. The breakfast was copious and delicious. They even provided a lunchbox when our tours left too early for us to enjoy the breakfast in the beautiful(heated) courtyard. The location is ideal, close to everything, but far enough that we slept like babies during our 7 night stay.

There were no hooks to suspend towels or clothes in the bathroom.

The property is a 5 mins walk from the central square, located slightly uphill (which can definitely be felt given the altitude!). This allows some of the rooms to have a great view over Cusco. The rooms are a good size and ours also had a balcony. The reception staff were very helpful and the reception area has tea available. They also offered free luggage storage during our Salkantay trek.

The breakfast is good but more variety would be appreciated. It usually consists of an omelette, cereal and fruit, with not much variation.

Staff put in a lot of effort to be welcoming. We stayed in two different rooms before and after the Inca Trail hike. Both rooms had good heating. Laundry service was convenient and clothes came back clean and well cared for.

It's a little way up a narrow and steep street so we had to make arrangements with drivers/tour guides around how to be picked up. Very minor issue overall though.

I liked the location, it was close enough that you were near everything but far enough away that it wasn’t loud. The breakfast in the morning was made to order which was nice and it was all you can eat. As an American, it was similar to a nicer hotel offering.

They didn’t have central heating or mini-split in our room but it wasn’t bad as the heat lamp kept the room warm.

We loved our stay here. Room 17 was so spacious it was a huge apartment suite. Lots of character, friendly staff, clean and comfortable. The hotel is just minutes away from the main plaza. It was nice they offered a packed lunch on days you couldn’t eat breakfast (due to tours and trips)

As so many guests do tours at different times it can be noisy at times you want to sleep / rest. No dressing gowns in room

Welcoming was great, gave us a brief about Cuzco and helped us to have the room before check in time. Breakfast box to go were ready to pick up every morning before we were leaving early for tours. Cleanliness was good, decoration was charming. Bed was comfortable. Location is 8 min walking to main plaza. A little apart from people and noise. We loved it. Our plan was to stay just for 2 nights, and we stayed 2 more nights. Thank you.
