Staff was very helpful and friendly. They held my bag in storage for me when I spent multiple days away for Macchu Pichu and not actually paying for this hostel. They made me breakfast for a 3:30 AM wakeup even though breakfast was only scheduled at 6. The breakfast provided was simple but good. The room was clean and comfortable, cute towel crane on the bed
Wifi signal was really bad, and the bandwidth wasn't much better, but I didn't really stay in the hostel much. You need to be very careful about where you leave your clothes and towel when showering, as there's a leak in the shower wall, and if the water hits your clothes before the drain, then you need to find some more. A bit noisy because of thin walls.

The location is really spot on, just a few steps away from Plaza Mayor and the Museo de Arte Precolumbino amongst other attractions. The hotel is nicely decorated in classic colonial style, around a central patio where guests gather for breakfast. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and well designed. The staff are all very kind and serviceable, especially Milagros and the hotel owner who personally drove us to the bus station in her car! Thank you everyone for a great stay.
In spite of having advised ahead of time that I am vegan, there were almost no vegan options for breakfast, except for fruits (bread and breakfast cereal both contain milk)

Lovely staff who were very kind and attentive. Excellent breakfast every morning. The best value for money of any hostel in Cusco, great base for trips
First room was a little on the smaller side for two people with lots of luggage but to be expected. Not necessarily a negative but road is very narrow so lots of tour companies and taxis require you to take a short walk to a wider street for pick up for excursions. On the ground floor you get quite a bit of noise from room above. Despite the above would definitely stay here again

The upper room was a bit bright in the morning but I liked it. Everything was clean, the staff was super nice and TV + WiFi were working.
The room downstairs was more dark, the WiFi was not working and you had terrible to no connection on your phone. Also you could hear every step from other guests, talks outside of the room etc which was a bit noisy. Breakfast was okay. Just quite the same every day.

The staff was excellent and very helpful with anything we needed. Location was good, only a short walk to the plaza de armas and very near to the trail to saqsawayman also. Breakfast was pretty good too.
It was pretty loud. We could hear music and talking from the street as well as other guests having… intimate moments. Weirdly, the weekdays were loudest, Saturday was quiet. Go figure.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really great. The room i had was a little loud from upstairs (older building) but it was great value for money and the facilities were really good, clean and working. It was so good I returned after my trek to stay again. They stored my luggage during my 5 day hike. My stay was relaxing and lovely. Great location and great laundry service.
I had a hot shower issue a couple of times but it worked itself out and when I returned a second time this was not an issue whatsoever.

The hostal is quite great. It is the 2nd time I stayed in this place and keeps the same good service. The facilities are just enough for the price. The staff was very helpful when I did not feel well due to the altitude and are always there is there is an extra service needed.
WiFi needs to improve, but not an issue since I was mostly out.

Great place in one of the cutest parts of Cusco. Great restaurants around and great shops with really one of a kind clothing. The staff is very helpful and sweet.
The bathroom and the bed were very clean but under the bed was still an empty bottle from a previous visitor. So they might not have been as thorough.

The hostel is well located in a typical building in the historical San Blas neighbourhood, close to lots of great restaurants and shops. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was simple but very tasty and the entire property was very clean and well presented. The room and the beds were comfortable and the shower pressure and temperature were good most of the time. They stored our bags for us while we were on an overnight trip which was also helpful. Wifi is good too. Overall for the price the hostel is excellent.
It was quite loud when people were talking in the central area outside our room or in the room directly above us, so I would ask for a room on the second floor. Note that the street the hostel is on is quite narrow and not all tour operators will pick you up from the hostel door, but this is common in the San Blas area.

We were so contented with our stay in Hostal El Grial that we booked it two times again after we came back from tours around Cusco. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, they give you recommendations for tours, laundry or any other question and if required keep your luggage when you head off for tours. The breakfast ist rich and delicious. The style and atmosphere in the place is very arty, pretty and cosy with lots of wood, plants and local art. The rooms are clean, spaceous and have a high ceiling. In general the Calle Carmen alto is a lovely street central in the old town of Cusco and perfect to start a walk through the historic centre.
Only minus point is the noise level at night. When you need a quiet room ask for one with the window towards the backyard and not towards the street.
