We had room 211 with breakfast in this centrally located hotel with luggage drop-off ability temporarily parked on the street 100 feet away from hotel. Quiet location, very clean room with hallway and room finishing details and materials usually only found at high-end hotels. Obtain 10 Euro per day prepaid parking ticket for indoor parking garage located about 100 to 125 meters north of hotel. Hotel is about 200 meters away from the main street (Rua Borges/Rua Visc. da Luz). Very convenient 30 meters walk on same street to very good Solar do Bacalhau Restaurant (nice interior) and about 100 meters to very good Italian Tartufo Restaurant on same street. Variety of items with the included breakfast. Different staff people I met at the front desk were always nice and helpful.

Nothing. One of my best hotels in Portugal during our 2 week stay.

Very good location near town centre and only 2 minutes from Coimbra train station (not to be confused with Coimbra B stations!). The room had two single beds, as requested, there was enough space to move around and both room and bathroom were clean. Staff at reception were friendly, and our room was available before check-in time which was great!

We could hear another guest talking for hours non stop late into the night, there is not much sound proofing. The ventilator in the bathroom was not working, in the morning the bathroom walls were still wet and the mirror still foggy!

Took us a bit to figure out how to get to the front of the hotel - the street doesn't look driveable, but it is Very well located for walkable touring. Helpful, friendly staff offered directions and suggestions for sights and dining. Room was compact, but doable. Breakfast is buffet style, well-tended and quite adequate. Coimbra is hilly and steep. Visit the Mercado and then take the elevator/funicular to the university.

Hotel has no on-site parking, but makes this clear from the onset. Parking is 10 euros a day about two blocks away, tight, but underground and safe. Bed was kind of stiff. Lots of noisy, nearby construction, but not the hotel's fault, certainly.

This hotel is centrally located and easily reachable by car. The paid parking area is very close to the hotel. Restaurants are around the corner. This hotel is a two star hotel, but it is more a three star hotel in terms of services and facilities. Rooms were clean and well equipped, the elevator is small but functional, breakfast has a wide variety and it is delicious, the staff is very helpful and friendly. We were very happy about our stay and we were pleasantly surprised about the quality.Highly recommended!

The hotel is perfectly located to explore Coimbra and has multiple restaurants and bakeries within minutes of the front door. The breakfast buffet was definitely worth the cost if it’s not included in your room rate allowing you to try local pastries in addition to the usual European breakfast staples: cheeses, fruits, multiple breads, scrambled eggs, and cold cuts. Our room was clean and quite functional and though our window overlooked the street, we didn’t hear much noise at night. We parked at a nearby (2 blocks) underground parking garage with in and out privileges for 20 euros/day that the hotel has an arrangement with. Worth it. Was easy to get to by car from the south, walk up into the city, to get out of by car to go visit the nearby Roman ruins, and to head north at the end of our stay. The staff were very helpful and positive.

Wish they had a power strip to charge all our electronics!

Small but very professionally run, with a good understanding of guests' needs, helpful and friendly staff. Well-equipped for the independent traveller. My room was small but cleverly designed (especially the bathroom) to fit in all the necessaries. Bathroom was very clean. There was even a small area for the kettle, tea and coffee and a sliver of a river view from the window. Sufficiently comfortable for a couple of days' stay. I loved the location, literally steps from the train station (Coimbra, not Coimbra-B) and it was easy to walk from the hotel uphill to all the main sights. Although the breakfast is typical of most Portuguese hotels, this one stood out for the quality of the ingredients - there were even generous slices of fresh mango.

The room was on the small side, but it's an old building after all.

The room was comfortable, impeccably clean, well appointed, and airy. Bathroom fixtures were all brand new. Front-desk staff were all helpful and pleasant. Location is excellent for a first-time visit.

The room was a bit spartan—a luggage rack or two would be nice and the electrical outlets were not near the bed—but we really have no serious complaints. The hotel was much better than implied by some online reviews, which suggest (wrongly) that the rooms are tired/worn/in need of renovation.

Other than initial difficulty in locating the hotel due to road construction nearby, and the fact that at first glance the access road seems to be pedestrian only (it's not) the hotel is in a very convenient location. It is easy to walk to many of the historic sites, and essentially all of them if you don't mind climbing. Convenient parking is available nearby through the hotel. The room waas comfortable and clean, with a lovely view up the hill over the old part of town. Breakfast was the standard hotel buffet - fine but not noteworthy.

A nice little old hotel with an updated air about it. Staff are professional. Parking is inconvenient - about 300 meters away and $10 a day, but it is a good walking neighborhood. We parked the rental car and didn't use it for the two days we were there Good restaurants and patisseries nearby. We did not take breakfast at the hotel as we enjoyed exploring the wide range of regional pastries for which Portugal is famous.

Excellent location near train station and many restaurants - since near train station you don't have to climb the many hills of the town! Very kind staff. As a single traveler I felt very safe. I had to leave very early and they let me in to the breakfast room a bit early to grab some food to eat on the train. I found a great little Brazillian restaurant down a tiny street a couple of blocks away that was delicious (can't remember the name!) but the town has great food. Be sure to go to the Fado show run by the Fado society - wonderful music and gives you the history of the music in the city.

All good - I stayed here because my "travel boyfriend" Rick Steves recommended it and as usual he was right!
