All the basics are good- comfortable mattress, air con, great water pressure and v hot water etc. Room was a good size and decent lighting. Staff were kind and helpful and overall really enjoyed the stay. This area of Portugal is not blessed with hotels so Dom João is a decent option.

Probably worth flagging that 4* is a bit relative; breakfast was fairly basic and the location in Entroncamento, although handy for the station is also not the most picturesque part of town...

The hotel was very clean, modern and the room was large. The curtains kept out the light. It was very quiet. Air conditioning kept the room at a good temperature. Staff were friendly and welcoming you. Good selection for breakfast. Short walk from the station (7 mins)if you use the foot bridge over the rails.

The bed was a bit hard. Breakfast was a bit hard to navigate (self service buffet) I only discovered the scrambled eggs on the last day!

Was heading to Lisbon on the trains. Decided to stop here as the trains swap over in the town. Not much happening in town but if you’re travelling from Madrid like I was it’s definitely worth a stopover. Nice clean and comfy hotel, value for money is great. Definitely beat getting to Lisbon tired and paying the same price for a worse place to stay. And they served cake for breakfast.

The hotel location was close to the center, the room was spacious as well as the bathroom. Air conditioning was functional and very helpful during the hot Portuguese summer. Personnel and hospitality as exceptional during my stay. Breakfast times and content was great. WiFi was high speed.

Small comfortable hotel in a quiet location, Everything was very clean, Reasonable breakfast. About eight minutes walk from Entroncamento Railway station and five minutes from the excellent Portuguese National Railway Museum. This is well worth a visit irrespective of whether you are interested in trains or not. Easy free parking in the streets surrounding the hotel.

Not a criticism. Just to be aware that the location is primarily residential so there are not many restaurants or bars in the immediate vicinity.

Evening check in was good and Eugenie recommended a really great restaurant. Was one of the only ones open as it was Sunday. Her English was better than our Portuguese and she w as very helpful.

The breakfast started late and we were hoping for an early start on our Camino walk. Nobody came to dining room at any time to check if anything else was needed.

This is a lovely haven on hot days with its quiet air conditioning it allowed us to relax. The breakfast was very good considering the low occupancy rate in the summer. The in-house drinks menu was very reasonably priced. The room was very spacious, the towels were changed each day. The Railway Museum is excellent and only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. There is a good small supermarket across the road for water and supplies. The hotel recommended a local restaurant - O Barbas do Caracol (Snail’s Beard) - which is one of the best restaurants we have found so far in Portugal!

There were no chairs to use on the balcony. The town is very much railway orientated and only developed from 1920 onward therefore there is no heritage to see except for the railway museum.

I loved the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel. Everything was spotless. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was excellent. The breakfast was also fantastic.

I observed a lack of preparedness among the staff. When I returned from a walk, they appeared uncertain about my stay. They were not very friendly.

Nice large room. A confortable bed. Quiet location. Nice bread and fruit at the breakfast. Very easy to find a parking place.

I didn't like the coffee, it was too bitter, even with sugar. The TV was too small compared to the size of the room. When I was sitting in bed I couldn't read subtitles. There was no wifi in my apartment.

The location, had its own parking, the recepcionist was very friendly and kind, the room was nice and the bathroom was very clean and good light.

The excessive temperature of the room, and it had so much mosquitoes when we arrived. Even though we tried to turn it off, it was awfully hot. Slippery bath tub, attention with that!
