The breakfast buffet was excellent. The lunch and dinner buffets were also pretty good if you have kids and don't fancy venturing out some days. The sea view from our 11th floor sea facing balcony was outstanding. The pool area was lovely. Clean and great for the kids. Room was clean and very comfortable.

I did not like the birds in the very small cages on the grassy area by the pool. The cages were in the direct sun and some of the birds looked thoroughly miserable. If they are going to keep birds they should be better housed.

Great location. Lovely sea view from the 10th floor. The room was great (1010), a very good sized balcony, and a separate lounge area. Good value for money. Not too busy when we stayed in mid June. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. We had stayed here before and would certainly stay here again. Easy walk into the centre of Funchal, also serviced by numerous regular bus services. The airport bus stop is 1 minute away on foot, €10 return. Loads of bars, restaurants and supermarkets within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel.

Nothing to dislike. However, it's worth pointing out that there is currently a development in progress over the road, so during the day building works are audible, that may impact on people's enjoyment around the poolside. Didn't bother us though, as we were out all day.

very bright and nicely done hotel rooms, the staff was very polite and helpful. I especially liked the fact that I was able to work and have calls from my room but also from the cafe area near the library. The breakfast was good and it had loads of options including dairy-free and gluten-free ones. It is very close to a nice walk near the ocean and also a big supermarket.

Cleanliness could be improved, it is nice that they added something that resembled wood but you can easily see when it hasn't been vacuumed or if the dust hasn't been cleaned. My room definitely did not have its floor properly cleaned the day I checked in, the cleaning lady did, however, do a fantastic job the second day. The desk table is a bit too high for normal high women so I had a hard time using it. The hotel is close to a very busy road and despite having received a room far from the road I would say I did not use the terrace during the day because of the noise coming from the road.

Kind staff, amazing clean rooms, nicely maintaned pools, delicious breakfast. Safe and nice neighbourhood. The garden is well-maintained and amazing. Parking lot available.( in peak season might be limited as it is not so huge).

You need to walk a bit towards downtown, but there are frequent buses. We could not use the spa option as we went out for hiking during the day, and it had a short time period when it was open.

The hotel is in a very good location which makes it a great base for exploring the island. Free parking for guests. The rooms are large and very well equipped. We got a room with an ocean view - it was wonderful to be able to enjoy such a wonderful view. The food at the hotel was very tasty. Especially the dinners were very varied and delicious! Very friendly, helpful and professional hotel staff. Special thanks to the managers for a very pleasant surprise on our anniversary and my birthday. We will certainly never forget it. It was a very nice surprise. I highly recommend staying at this hotel

Lovely location. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Super breakfast with plenty of choice. Lovely room with great sea view. Pool area is spacious and very well serviced.

Bar area is a little disappointing and totally lacking in atmosphere. Terrace lounge could do with some additional lighting.

Lovely location overlooking the sea front, with buses across the road going to Funchal. The room is big with a separate living area, with a balcony and wonderful sea views. The pool area was nice with a pool bar - reasonable prices. Breakfast was expansive and nice. On the airport bus route, which is extremely convenient.

The suite was a little tired in places. The hairdryer worked only intermittently. The bodywash/shampoo product quality, in my opinion, could have been better.

Very friendly staff. The hotel was clean and breakfast was exceptional with plenty of options. We found the location perfect, Old Town east and Lido West. The rooms are above average size, smelled and looked fresh and clean. Balcony was a real plus with great views. Pool area was nice. Overall good value for money. Again I must compliment the staff

Friendly, helpful staff, big room with separate sitting area. Large balcony with stunning view of the sea. Felt very welcoming and warm. Excellent value for money. Good public areas including very spacious library. Spa is new and impressive Overall a very good stay indeed and we would return.

Some damage to furniture and internal doors in the room which needed attention. I reported it and someone visited but because the door closed they thought this was not an issue. Worth paying attention to these issues as they can leave an impression of neglect if not addressed.
