Beautiful hotel , great roof top area with a pool and bar. Comfortable beds , everything clean. Staff professional and friendly , we requested taxi to airport through the hotel and because we left before 6am staff prepared us breakfast to take with us. Great breakfast served from 7:30-10:30 , great options for everyone’s taste. Great location , close to the old town , cable car , ocean. Lot of souvenir shops and restaurants in old town. I would love to return one day.

Our room was on the road side and even with closed windows it was really noisy. Specially around early morning and 10-11pm motorbikes and cars made a lot of noise.

Would definitely recommend this hotel! The location is great, you can get to all the places by foot. It is near a busy road, we left our window for the first nights, so it was really noisy. Decided then to use the air-con and you should just do that as well for a good night's sleep :D it is really quiet and doesn't make the awful air, they normally do. The rooftop is amazing, the drinks and food at the bar are great as well and the pool area is just amazing. We spent so much time on the daybeds, they are really great and you have fantastic views over the city.

Only downside: the coffee (at breakfast and in the rooftop bar) is just awful.

Our room with a seaview (on the 6th floor) exceeded our expectations. It was spacious and comfortable: we particularly liked the large balcony with a table and two chairs where we read, enjoyed a drink and could people watch. Every member of staff was warm, happy to help, and professional. Choices available at breakfast were excellent and constantly replenished. The hotel is an easy walk to a number of the sights and a wide choice of restaurants. The roof terrace is a plus: a small plunge pool in which to cool off; loungers, deckchairs and a choice of tables and chairs; a bar serving drinks and snacks with a smile!

The coffee at breakfast was grim, no matter how we tried to circumvent what came out of the machine. The very thin toilet paper is probably the thinnest we have ever had to use.

Excellent service from the hotel reception staff even before our stay, really efficient helpful responses to my enquiries; stayed in deluxe room-lovely balcony and view, great decor, clean, and quiet, optional room music was fab, great shower, comfy bed, complimentary water; delicious hot and cold breakfast buffet, with hot and cold drinks etc free drink voucher for roof top bar with great views; we ran out of time to have a dip in the pool! great location for cable, old town bars/ restaurants, market, seafront buses etc; complimentary bubbly and cakes in our room on my birthday was such a lovely surprise! We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff is really friendly and always at disposal for any question or suggestion we needed during our stay. The breakfast is simply amazing. The location of the hotel is perfect, very close to Funchal's main attractions. The terrace is beautiful with a 360 degree view over the see and the mountain on the other side. Parking is a bit tricky but there is a private park nearby where one can leave the car overnight for a very cheap price. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Funchal and Madeira in general.

Fabulous hotel 10 mins from the port. Large hotel with large rooms/bathrooms and great sea views. Check in was a breeze, extremely polite and helpful reception staff, very happy to share their knowledge and experiences. They have a great rooftop bar by the pool (too cold to swim when I was here), but I did go to the rooftop bar several times. Staff was amazing, made great drinks (try the Poncha!) and always made me feel welcome. Breakfast was phenomenal, huge breakfast room with hot, cold, veggies, local fruits. Competent and polite staff...always very clean, delicious!! Highly recommend this hotel!! 10 stars!

The hotel was in a great location, it was very clean and modern. The staff were very welcoming and the rooftop terrace and bar had great views. The rooms were big and modern with comfortable beds, spacious shower room and tea/coffee area. Great buffet breakfast with daily variations. Very good value for money.

The water provided daily in the room was tap water and had an odd metallic taste if it was left to sit.

I particularly liked and appreciated very much the staff professionalism, friendliness and willingness to help, no matter what requests. They were all really dedicated employees and I hope that the hotel will offer them opportunities to grow in their careers, because they all surely deserve it.

I asked and paid the extra amount for a room with a view to the ocean, and my room was right on the corner and I could only see a tiny bit of the sea, but I had the fantastic view of the Monte with its funicular going up and down, so that was just as rewarding and I did not bother to ask the kind staff to change the room, because I was mostly outside anyway discovering the enchanting city of Funchal. So, it was all worth it in the end.

Beautiful and modern, clean Hotel, and generally with a fancy look and feel. Nice, large rooms, great view from rooftop, has an extra piano bar area downstairs, very good breakfast, perfect location, easy to walk anywhere in Funchal.I would book again, however their usual prices, when not on special offer, are way to high for what it is I think. It is a very good hotel and you will not regret staying there in any way, however its not a luxury place, as it seems priced.

I was there off-season (February) and not much use was made of the bar on the roof top as it was cold, and the restaurant was closed - so I dont know how they are. The restaurant or breakfast area are also in the basement, with no windows, which was a bit of a shame, but still nicely done. There was no option NOT to have rooms service and new towels etc everyday, which could be improved for sustainability. A teaspoon along with the tea and cups would also be a nice touch, or a refill of the teabags/coffee if they already send room service every day. Small things, but nice touches.
