This is a very nice hotel in a great location. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was very good, a great selection and variety of foods available. The hotel has a lovely courtyard garden which was ideal for breakfast. We had a meal in the hotel restaurant which was excellent, someone in the kitchen really knows how to cook food! One of the best things about this hotel is the staff, they really go the extra mile to make the guests feel welcome.

Given my review so far why am I not rating the hotel higher? For me the hotel was let down by the finish of the bedroom and bathroom. The room was furnished with more style than substance. The bed was very comfortable but there was insufficient wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom had no drawers or storage space. The shower is in the bath with the shower controls difficult to use. The toilet seat was cheap and not self closing! It was not a 5 star bathroom. This would be a great hotel if the bedroom and bathrooms were improved.

Loved just about everything. Staff couldn’t have been nicer, nothing too much trouble. Courtyard dining area for wonderfully relaxed breakfasts. Ate here one evening and food was superb.

Nothing that we didn’t like. Slight issue when we booked in as we had booked for Deluxe room with balcony and with walk in shower. We were originally given a room in the annexe with regular bath. Whilst this room was nice we got the feeling it wasn’t really a deluxe. Reception phoned our room to see if everything was okay. (Did suspect really to see if we would just accept it) . Once we explained we weren’t too impressed we were swiftly moved into the main hotel and into a room which matched what was shown when booking. It’s a pet hate of mine, you book to stay in advertised hotel not an annexe.

The included breakfast was a very nice selection of hot and cold options ranging from eggs to fresh fruit. The room was nicely sized so that we could access our large checked luggage, carry-ons, and still had plenty of space to get around. The bed was comfy, as were the pillows. The bathroom was quite large as well. The location is great as it is only 2 blocks from the Hard Rock Cafe where many of the city tours have designated as their pick-up/drop-off location. There are several restaurants all around the area within 5-15 minutes walking. The staff were very friendly and professional.

Not a major thing here at all, but if I have a bottle of water that you provided upon request with my meal and I pick it up to refill my glass myself, let me !!! ;) The staff were TOO kind here on insisting that they refill my glass with the water bottle sitting in front of me.

The breakfast was excellent! A la carte also with a buffet selection. First class breakfast. The hotel is an the best location for exploring the centre of Lisbon. Close to the main square by the sea and also in good proximity to Barrio Alto which is a lively nightlife district. Very good for access to transport to all sides of the city. All the top boutiques are on this avenue and also some great restaurants.

The only disappointing part is that there a lots of homeless people nearby. Very sad. Among all the opulence of Avenue de Liberdade to find such a dramatic contrast with so many homeless people sleeping outside 5 star hotels.

The location was excellent - only a short walk into the centre of town. Staff friendliness and service was excellent. The breakfast was fine, with a good choice. The food at the evening meal was excellent.

Our stay was slightly let down by the room itself. I had paid for a balcony room, which overlooked the back of the hotel which wasn't as pretty and therefore wasn't used. Being a 5 star hotel, the room would have benefitted from a comfy seating area for two people - it was big enough to accommodate this. There was only one seat provided, so one of us had to use the bed to sit on. I would also have liked tea making facilities in the room.

The breakfast was lovely. The hotel is modern and elegant. The location is perfect, right in the heart of things and accessible to shopping, restaurants and attractions are a quick walk or Uber ride away.

The only thing I did NOT like was the bed. It was hard, poor quality and extremely uncomfortable. For such a beautiful upscale property I expected better quality mattresses.

From the minute you walk in you are greeted by welcoming, courteous, helpful staff. Loved the hot towel at front desk available on arrival to clean your hands. Our room was large, modern, quiet and clean. We had an incredible view. The bed and pillows incredibly comfortable. Black out curtains and windows that opened were appreciated. Large clean and modern bathroom and great shower. Lots of hot water. House keeping kept our room clean and were very discreet leaving delicious chocolates everynight on our pillow. Every request we had was graciously accommodated. The breakfast was included. Very impressed with freshness and selection. You could order custom prepared dishes from the kitchen. The service, staff were welcoming, discreet but yet very attentive. My friend who is celiac ( gluten intolerant) was pleasantly pleased with the food options. They even had gluten free croissants and other baked goods. On our last night we ate at the hotel restaurant and had we known how delectable the food was we would have eaten more than once. Again a great experience on all parts. We were giving a complimentary bottle of wine to accompany our meal. The hotel is perfectly located. Metro is across the street. Many sights within walking distance. We felt very safe. I cannot emphasize enough how professional and attentive the staff was at 138 Libertade. I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Lisbon. Thank you to the staff at 138 Libertade for a memorable stay!

We liked everything! Especially the staff.

The central location of this hotel makes it aa great choice for anyone who wants to visit Lisbon and have equal access to upscale shopping and old world history. The staff are amazingly professional and cater to your needs like the 5-star designation hints at. I like to train daily when I travel and the gym was sufficient for my needs. The breakfast was good but I'm pretty routine about how I eat so not to much variety is needed for someone like me. Finally, the subway entrance is across the street from the hotel which is a huge bonus because the system is excellent and gives you access to most of the city should you wish to use this affordable means of travel.

There really isn't anything to say here. However, if I am to be balanced in my review, I would have to say that the chocolates they left on my bed every night could have been a bit bigger:)!

We have stayed at the hotel two times, and we rate the whole stay 10/10. Perfect location. The staff was very service minded. Very good breakfast. The food at the hotel is of high quality. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel. Love the sushi at the hotel. So fresh, so good and so nicely made. We had sushi tasting menu and it was beyond all expectations. If you have not tried the sushi menu, you need to try it because it is so worth it. We will be back soon.

Everything! The location, the room, the breakfast, the service. It's the attention to details that make this hotel a unique experience. For example, our flight was early morning and they packed us breakfast. At our arrival, they had portuguese tarts in our room along with some very decent coffee pods, chocolate etc. They came the next day to offer us more chocolate. The breakfast was good too with every single staff very attentive to our needs.

Not the hotel's fault but they booked us an official taxi and that driver charged us close to 40 euros (requested that we pay cash) when we knew for sure that ride (hotel to airport) was meant to be 15 euros. So i would encourage everyone to check with the taxi driver before going in the taxi. You can't assume just because the hotel booked it an official taxi that you won't end up being scammed.
