The breakfast buffet was fresh, flavorful, varied and unlimited. It is hard to believe it was included in our daily room rate. Most of the food served at the restaurant is locally sourced and it is delicious! The staff was absolutely professional and helpful. We were worried there would be trouble communicating because we don't speak Portuguese, but they all spoke English (AASL). Our room was spacious and had a private balcony. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Best sleep I've had in years. The hotel is very clean and the rooftop pool offers incredible views of Ponta Delgada and beyond. Also very well located for walking around the city.

The location is perfect. The staff from front desk, to restaurant, to cleaning were always friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was the best we've had at a hotel, everything was fresh and an excellent variety to choose from, it also had different options day to day. The dining menu was very good and the chef cooks some of the best food we had on the island. Will highly recommend this hotel.

Nice charming hotel, located right in the city center, everything is close by (pharmacy, great gelateria, supermarket and so on), the hotel offers a gated parking lot for 6€ a day only a street away which was very convenient. Breakfast was alright - just very repetitive if you stay for a week. The room was big, spacious, clean, nice towels, comfy beds, nice view on the tiny park and the ocean in the distance. Pool on the roof is nice to take a refreshing dip or do some sunbathing. Staff was mostly friendly, especially the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant! The hotel was our base to explore the entire island and it was perfect for that!

No late check-out option, coffee lovers will not enjoy the one that is offered at breakfast, I’d recommend you NOT to take a room on the side of the tiny park. First of all you constantly (at all times of the day and evening) hear car tires squeak cause of a small narrow turn in the street right in front of the hotel. Second of all and this was absolutely horrible - in the building right next to the hotel there is some kind of facility where addicts spend their time - they are loud as hell at times, shout / scream/ play music - even in the middle of the night. Not really what I need during my vacation! Ask for a room that faces the side road above the hotel entrance, might be better there …

Really enjoyed our stay here, exceeded expectations for the price. The Location is excellent right in the heart of PD and close to everything. The staff at front desk were great. The breakfast was good especially the breakfast waffles. Lunnch and dinner were good too. It is a quiet hotel, can't hear the neighbours and it is very clean. Recommend.

TV position in the room was awkward but got used to it, breakfast was good but breakfast options not consistent ie some mornings no sausages, bathroom was nice and spacious but a little dated. Nitpicking, small things.

Just the overall vibe of the place. Really spacious!!

Gym could use an upgrading

We thought the location was very central. The room is very clean. The rooftop pool is a nice option to have, but it was a little chilly since we went the beginning of November. Still nice to lay out. The staff was always very helpful and friendly. They accommodated an early check in and late check out which we very much appreciated! Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel and speak very highly of our experience.

The breakfast was good enough, but nothing exceptional. The coffee was very weak, but not so important.

Very nice hotel in the city center of Ponta Delgada, close to everything - port, restaurants, shops. The hotel has a roof swimming pool, gym, and 2 terraces with a lovely view of the city. The hotel even provided towels for the swimming pool. When booking, I asked for a room with a balcony and was very pleased the staff took it into consideration. In fact, the room exceeded our expectations - not the balcony, but the size of the apartment - it was a suite with a big living room and big bedroom, comfortable large beds having huge TVs for a hotel in each room, a good sized bathroom with 2 sinks, kettle, and refrigerator, as well. Everything was perfect for us!

Cleaning of the balcony - found cigarette ends. The swimming pool is small, with a bit too much chlorine. All this didn't matter much, as we had a very nice staying in Talisman Hotel! Definitely recommend it!

Thought the location was great, breakfast was very good , staff very friendly

The only negative thing was our Europe adapter did not work in your outlet , the second one worked but not for straightener . When asked at the desk if they had one I could borrow they didn’t. The second night the guy on at the desk told us about a place just around the corner of the hotel thst we could buy on and he charged our phone , he was a sweetheart. We were so thank you. It’s very frustrating when you can’t charge your iPhone as we needed thst yo get around the island. We bought the adapter for 4.50 euros , so why could you not have a few on hand to purchase if for some reason there’s didn’t work. That night desk guy went beyond and we were so so grateful. He was on the evening shift Monday sept 18. Left at midnight. He was a life saver.

Staff were really helpful especially car hire experience. Good size room. Very clean.

Was cold as they couldn’t turn off air conditioning. Insufficient lighting in room especially inside wardrobe could not see anything. Uninspiring breakfast. Think you should at least be able to get a freshly made coffee - not from a machine.

Great hotel in a fabulous location. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and welcoming (helped with rental car, tours, suggestions on things to do, etc.). The included breakfast was amazing (7:30-10am; fruit juice, cappuccino, eggs, bacon, fruit, waffles, bread). A bit too cold when I was there to use the rooftop pool, but it was nice and clean. Rooftop gym was in good working order and not crowded. Easy walking distance to the oceanfront, gardens, and many restaurants. Left a birthday surprise in my room which was unexpected and so sweet. Really great value for the money. Would highly recommend.
