Beautifully decorated hotel with lovely outdoor space with pool. Exceptional breakfast and the honesty bar is a very nice touch. Great location, with just a short walk to the beach and restaurants.

Would have liked somewhere to keep suitcase, a stand would have been useful. Tricky to stop water from wet shower door dripping onto rest of floor when exciting the shower.

We loved the tranquility of this beautiful hotel & found it very peaceful & welcoming after exploring the city.All of the staff were very friendly & helpful & nothing was to much trouble for them🥰Our breakfast each day was amazing, a wide choice of hot & cold food, all very fresh & cooked to order.Also a really nice touch was having a well stocked complimentary mini bar replenished daily😊 we would love to return here again 😁

What was their not to like about this little bit of paradise in a big city😃

The location was great; it was in a relatively quiet area of Porto near the beach, and it made for a nice sanctuary after a day of exploring the sites in downtown Porto. Our room (Junior Suite) was spacious and tastefully decorated, including a little writing nook that I made sure to take advantage of. The king-size bed was extremely comfortable, and the hotel was quiet and peaceful. The staff is exceptionally professional and helpful; Iryna took special care to accommodate our dietary restrictions with a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast each morning that was an unexpected delight; and Daniela was very helpful with restaurant suggestions, including finding us a reservation at a nice restaurant on one of the busiest nights of the year in Porto (Festa de São João). The gym was clean and functional to start our days with a little workout while on vacation, and the sauna was great for a bit of relaxation & cleansing.

Everything! I wanted to relax and chill so this small, intimate, boutique hotel, a short walk from the beach was perfect! The interiors (every single detail) were beautiful, even the reading books in the room. Breakfast was amazing and the hotel had everything I wanted for my stay; pool and decking area to have drinks outdoors, gym, sauna and steam, massage services, beautifully decorated rooms with every small detail so well thought out and then there’s the service. Exquisite and beyond helpful. My massage was one of the best I’ve ever had. Honestly can’t rave about this hotel enough - I already want to come back!

I absolutely loved my stay - it honestly couldn’t have been better. If I had to be really picky perhaps a little more protein available at breakfast and fruit without added orange juice - but that’s just a very personal preference for me. It would be nice to have a changing area to freshen up after check-out if you have a late night flight but again, this is a very specific minor detail.

The Casa Marechal is situated in a stunning Villa in Porto’s elegant seaside suburb Foz do Douro. It is cozy and chic with splendid interior design, a sunny pool deck, and super helpful staff. The breakfast is served with love, and a honesty bar makes you feel at home when taking a night cup after an exciting day in town. The location is perfect for people who seek relaxation. The beach is two blocks away, there is a bunch of great restaurants nearby and cute boutiques for shopping. Porto’s city center is 20 mins away by car.

Everything was perfect

The hotel is situated on the quieter side of Porto, by the sea, which is what we wanted. The hotel is a beautiful little place, with top notch modern rooms. Our shower was amazing!! Even better than the one we have at home! The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. On arrival, we asked the young lady at reception about the best places to visit as we only had a limited amount of time and she marked out the top attractions along with restaurant names for us. Breakfast was more than adequate and as we had booked a wine tour on one of our days, she also kindly packed a basket of breakfast items and left these outside our hotel room, so that we could eat before we left (the pickup was an early one) and we thought this was a lovely touch. Even though the hotel was away from the centre, there was a bus stop about two minutes from the hotel which took us to the city so that was great! We would definitely stay there again and we highly recommend the hotel.

From the first moment of getting to the hotel I knew I'd feel happy and relaxed. I met 3 reception staff during my stay and each one of them were superb! They were relaxed yet professional. They were friendly and warm. They were knowledgeable about the hotel facilities and the local area. The hotel itself is exceptional. The decor, both inside the property and the garden and pool area are outstanding. I stood admiring the colours of the painted wall and the ivy gowing on it for several minutes! The room I had (room 2) was a standard room, but there was nothing standard about it. The bed, pillows and linen were perfect. I slept so well. The blinds were blackout. The shower was hot. The shower gel smelt gorgeous. Nothing to fault! I took a bike out from the hotel, which wZ free, but needed a contract for damages etc. Such a lovely addition to the other facilities available, which include a lovely swimming pool and outside lounge area, a gym (wooden!!) & a sauna. I had breakfast at the hotel, which was continental. Yoghurt, cereal, fruit compote, fruit, croissant, breads, a choice of eggs and cheese/ham, all served in the comnunal breakfast area. Perfect! There's an honesty bar too. I had a glass of port from the range of drinks on offer. Hotel is in a quiet residential area. Restaurants and beach are both really close by and very good. Thank you for helping me to feel so relaxed. I had such a lovely stay. You really are a superb hotel and team!

I do have one suggestion. Have the option of wine that people can have a glass of rather than having to buy a bottle of wine.

We enjoyed everything about our stay - the friendly and accommodating staff, the spa and pool, the breakfasts, the overall beautiful decor and comfort. Big comfy beds. Effective air-conditioning. Particular hilights were the picnic baskets left for us with breakfast items, as we had to leave very early and would have missed breakfast.

We liked the location on the coast. Within walking distance of nice restaurants and a cheap Uber ride from the airport and old town. If you were hoping to be in the heart of the more ancient part of Porto, you might be disappointed.

Fantastic renovated old manor in the nicest, most affluent area of Porto, away from the maddening crowd of the city centre. Lovely location to go for a beachside walk early in the morning after breakfast. Beautifully renovated and decorated property, very tastefully done up. Lift was a plus. Room was very chic, well kept and spotless.

Only down side was that the room was maybe a tad bit too small. But that’s only a small, small, downside. Perfectly comfortable otherwise. But no closet, not enough space. Perfect for a weekend, I’d say.
