O Valentim is a bar, restaurant and a hotel. The hotel is on the second and third floors. My room was larger than I expected with a comfortable sitting area and bathroom. The reception made reservations for the restaurant where I had an excellent dinner. The beach and metro are both a very short walk away. A very nice stay.

Street is mostly restaurants with outdoor seating area and wood fired grills. It got noisy in the evening. The air conditioning allowed us to keep the windows closed. Open, this would not be pleasant.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The location of the hotel is excellent, 10-minute walk to the beach where you can learn surfing, and 5-minute walk to the nearest bus station and metro station which both easily get you into Porto city, especially the bus #500 that passes through the coastal line. The room was cozy and clean. You also get a welcome drink at the bar; the staff was very friendly and helpful. There is also a small lounge area on the floor where I stayed, providing some books and a computer. The little garden is relaxing. The bed is extremely comfortable and I had really good sleep.

Pretty much nothing. Just a remark would be the floor in the toilet where the shower is could be a little slippery, especially after using products like conditioner.

Room exceeded our expectations for the price. Very reasonably priced hotel on the Camino route. Clean and comfortable. Excellent shower and hot water. Tea facility in the room, along with bottled water was great. Enjoyed local Portugese dinner at wine bar and restaurant. 3rd generation family run hotel and restaurant. Breakfast not available, though we were directed to a pleasant cafe nearby on the Camino route. Communicated well via the app. Happy to receive luggage via Camino transfer service.

The automatic check-in is great! Comunicating with the staff was easy and quick. The room is fully equipped and very clean. We travelled by car so the location was convenient both to find a car parking nearby and to catch our early flight the day after (just 13 minutes from the airport). Moreover, the neighbourhood Matosinhos is famous for its excellent restaurants that grill fresh fish all day long, so staying at O Valemtin might be the right choice if you want to try really local food!

Room quiet and clean. Lovely hot water. Sound proofed. Duvets and gowns a nice touch. Sad no pilgrims menu or menu of the day. The tuna was delish but cost an arm and a leg.

Soup not good. Restaurant prices. No pilgrims menu. They should cater more for Pilgrims. It was a public holiday, cold and raining and not many open food places for tired pilgrims.

Rooms were clean, the staff were amazing friendly. The flow of information when booking in remotely through WhatsApp was amazing, right down screen prints on where to park. The very best bit was the restaurant, the fish, the wine and service were excellent. I’ll probably go back.

The balcony on the top floor was a bit stinky, not the hotels fault its a right next to the harbour where thousands of seagulls eat their lunch.

Rooftop bar. Kind and polite staff. Comfortable rooms and beds.

Difficult to find. It is connected to a restaurant, but there are 2 restaurants in the same street with almost the same name. An initial issue when we were told that the adjoining rooms were not part of the deal when the booking was for 2 people only, despite the room photos clearly showing 2 separate sleeping areas, was quickly resolved with the assistance of booking.com.

We actually stayed in two rooms due to a flight problem. The first night we were in a twin room. The checkn in process was all virtual and worked well. We were very happy with the room. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The second night we stayed in the suite. It was a bit beyond our budget honestly but we were happy with the hotel on night one and did not want to leave the area. It is a GREAT LOCATION ! Close to everything. We ate at two excellent restaurants. The second night we ate at VAGAS - directly on the beach. And WHAT A BEACH. The water was wonderful.... clear, refreshing. The hotel is in a walkable area to public transit to Porto etc... but we were content to just stay in the town. On the first day we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant - on the 3rd floor. it was simple but fine. A wonderful kind bonus was a welcome drink at their upstair terrace restaurant. We did take advantage of this and loved it. Lots of gulls around- a real seaside town. We loved it ! Quiet and clean- great location ! Kind staff.... all great.

Really was not much not to like.

Location, modern design, balcony, mini-fridge, and free welcome drink. Great people working in the top floor restaurant/bar/terrace. Double exterior doors provide good sound dampening. Super easy check-in and check-out.

Could be cleaner. Glassware and kettle were dirty, lots of marks on the walls, and mold in the shower. I've stayed in a few different rooms here, and all were hot (in winter), and smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals upon arrival. This prompted me to open the balcony doors (although, in the first floor room, one of the balcony doors was stuck shut). Adjusting the thermostat didn't seem to help the temperature.

Very comfortable accommodation is the area of the excellent fish restaurants in Matosinhos. The rooms are all renovated and very confortable. Possibility of check-in out of working hours. Parking just close-by, very cheap.

I would definitely improve the breakfast, The location is very nice in the veranda on the rooftop but there was not a lot of choice: just coffee + fruit juice + bread with ham or cheese+jam.
