Perfect accommodation in a perfect location. We stayed in a Studio with Balcony which looked straight onto the river & Dom Luís bridge, a room with a view. We felt part of the river front atmosphere. Room was beautiful. Breakfast is downstairs in Ribeira 50 cafe/bar. Lovely buffet breakfast. Bar has small range of snacks & food great to come back to at the end of the day. We were delighted with Porto River. There is an excellent restaurant next door called Casario, we went 3 times. Be sure to book & request terrace seating.

Nothing it was perfect

The view was spectacular. The room very comfortable.

Provide two racks for luggage. The buskers outside became annoying. They were there day and night, playing the same songs over and over. We could not block out the noise which was particularly a problem when my husband was unwell one day. We like to open the doors for fresh air but could not when we wanted to rest because of the buskers.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. We expected to hear noise from the bars/restaurants all around the property, but we were pleasantly surprised with our quietest sleep anywhere in our 3 weeks in Portugal. The staff was fantastic, answering our questions, loaning us an umbrella, and offering a different room (without us asking) when there was a minor maintenance issue

A little difficult to find the hotel, a picture accompanying the pre-arrival message / email would have been helpful, especially when arriving in peak time when the restaurants are busy and many people are on the street

Large apartment with good amount of space. two beds and bathrooms. Phenomenal location on the water, lots of restaurants and things to do right outside. Nicely decorated and renovated old building. Great breakfast with filtered coffee! Comfortable bed and linens. Taxis can pick you up in front of hotel. Good a/c and water pressure (had some issues with both)

Hard place with a car, no place to stop easily to drop bags off, closest garage is about 10 minutes walking and is $50 a day to park. Don't recommend having a car here. While river location is great, the main town is a relatively short walk which is all uphill. Slightly hard to find my entrance as restaurant tables are blocking the entrance. Smaller bedroom A/C leaked water on the first causing us to have to turn it off, staff fixed it and worked fine after that. Oddly one morning the water was shut off in entire apartment and took 20 minutes to get turned back on, which was hard since I had just started showering.

Everything was fantastic! Excellent location right in front of the Douro River and convenient to main tourist attractions. The river front was busy and lively during the afternoon and early evening, but quiet and peaceful the rest of the day and night. You wouldn’t hear much at all, except some seagulls in the morning when waking up (10am for us). We were in room 2/2, unbeatable! Check photo attached! The breakfast was included and it was nice and fresh, nice fruits, good coffee, fried eggs on demand, fresh orange juice, nice bread!! Parking was public and a few blocks away (5 min walk). The young lady working the reception (she was from Cordoba, Argentina - sorry I did not get her name) was so nice, friendly, smart and knowledgeable. You could tell she loves her job. In five minutes, maybe ten, she made great recommendations for touring the city, all the explanation using the city map. She’s been in Porto for six months, but she is a true expert! She even gives tips on where to get elevators to get to the higher parts of the city, which roads to walk, places to visit. She was a jewel!! Thanks!

We loved everything about this hotel. It is right in the middle of everything and it is in impeccable condition. The staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment was spacious and clean, and wow what a view! We enjoyed the outside music, although sometimes the entertainment was too close together and that could be irritating, but when we closed the windows it was fine. The breakfast had some vegan options, which is important to us. They provided us with soy milk, but I'd recommend adding soy or other non-dairy milk as a standard at the buffet table instead of having to ask for it. Would certainly recommend this hotel!

The primary benefit of this hotel is its location next to the Douro River. It is a beautiful area with outdoor eating and music. One should note that the rest of Porto is uphill from this location -- anyone with mobility issues should give this consideration. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our well-appointed room featured a separate living area with kitchen, plus bedroom and full bath. Nice for extended stays. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. Our view was limited by a close building. Breakfast was easy and complete. We would have no hesitation choosing this hotel should we return to Porto.

The location of the Porto River Hotel is both a positive and negative. It is a beautiful area with plenty of entertainment and dining venues. Every evening felt like a wonderful party. The primary downside is that its isolated location is not accessible by regular traffic. The hotel failed to contact us about this quirk, and Bolt dropped us (and our luggage) off a couple blocks away. Licensed cabs and limos can lower bolsters that block access for easier drop-off and pick-up. Wish we had known this ahead of time.

We stayed over New Year’s Eve, it was absolutely amazing. They view was great and the location perfect right in front of the river and plaza. We were able to see the fireworks from our window. We had the apartment on the fifth floor, which was the only apartment on that floor. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. We arrived a bit too early but we were able to store our luggages and they even brought them up to our room before we checked in. They guided us up and explained us the apartment, provided us complementary fruits and a bottle of sparkling wine which was very accommodating. The breakfast was small and okay, fresh fruits, cereals and we could choose between an omelette or a pancake. Overall we were very happy with our stay and can 100% recommend it!

This is a superb room in a fantastic area. Ribiera in Porto is one of the outstanding areas in the world, a brilliant river area with an amazing vibe. Better than Las Ramblas for people watching, wonderful food, great street music. And this Hotel is right in the middle of it all at a great room rate. I probably shouldn't say that or they may increase it ;) The only mistake we made was to leave. The view of the river is not to be missed.

WiFi not the best! Doors were tricky at first but we soon got the knack. Our unit was up 2 floors with no lift, but the staff took all our bags, and it was worth it for the stunning view.

Location was exceptional with a view of the bridge. Our room was super clean and large. The hostess took time to show us the apartment and the staff was very kind and helpful. We loved our stay, highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was exceptional with both hot and cold dishes. We travel a lot and this is one of our favour places to stay. We also had dinner downstairs at Chez Lapin and it was delicious and the service was outstanding. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant. After visiting 2 countries, 6 cities this was our favourite place.
