Tourists who are not staying at the hotel were taking pictures and making a lot of noise near the pool. It is not ok to pay the fee and enter…

The dinner and breakfast buffets were absolutely incredible. The dessert buffet was beautiful. Our waitress was incredibly charming and friendly, she made our evening wonderful. Staff was extremely professional and attentive.

Almost everything was perfect, except, when my wife and I asked for a plate and cutlery in our room, we were quite shocked that after already confirming they would bring it to our room, the hotel called 10 minutes later and decided they would charge us 10OMR (25 Euro). So we told them to not bring it at all because that is an insult. When you are paying the high amounts of money for the stay and dinners, etc, it's shameful that the resort would still be this cheap for such a basic request. Bad taste and simply unnecessary.

Very friendly and accommodating staff , large rooms, canyon view is breathtaking, tennis court with equipment usage free. Diana’s point is beautiful . Great selection of food for breakfast.

Although location is pristine , there were lots of families with children who were very loud and hence the stay was not very peaceful. One Room was adjoined to one such family whose crying child woke us up. Hotel could improve soundproofing perhaps ?At the pool, a family of around 10 occupied the entire pool and their kids were splashing excessively and some went in with t-shirts on. Not a very great look. Breakfast, though states it is till 11am, the staff started clearing off at 10:45 and closed it off at 10:55. This felt a bit rushed.

Anantara Al Jebel Al Akhdar boasts stunning views of the rugged Omani mountains, complemented by delicious food and well-organized activities like treks and archery, which were expertly led by Mahmoud and Hasan. The large and spacious rooms added to the comfort of the stay, making it an ideal retreat for relaxation and adventure.

However, the resort fell short in certain areas. The gym was non-functional and temporarily relocated to a villa, which was far from ideal. The overwhelming emphasis on Christmas decorations and music detracted from the authentic Arab experience I was seeking. Service felt impersonal at times, and the prices for spa treatments and treks were excessively high. Additionally, a guide on the Wadi Al Buwairid hike made inappropriate comments about Indian wage competition while gesturing at me, which was uncomfortable and unprofessional. These issues tempered an otherwise memorable stay.

Obviously incredibly beautiful hotel - amazing views for sunset and the rooms were really breathtaking. The pool was lovely, despite the wind making it a bit chilly! And the gardens were also really beautiful to wander around and see all the different regional plants. The spa was also great, and my massage treatment was very relaxing. All the spaces at the Anantara were stunning and it was a lovely place to be. Whilst our 3.5 year old was also very well catered for - she especially enjoyed using the bikes around the hotel grounds - the hotel is better equipped for older children who can enjoy the rock climbing and other activities. We did manage part of the hike you can do from the hotel, but it gets hot quickly and although most of the way is manageable, it was quite demanding for a young child!

The dinner buffet was good, but did seem quite steep for the choice on offer. There were very few vegetarian or vegan options. Breakfast was very good.

Amazing staff. Top notch management, Maren was doing a superb job. The staff were so friendly and they knew us by names. Chef Yazan and his team, Kamal from the international buffet, Rai at the coffee place. They all were super friendly and warm that all guests felt like they were at home. We have a room an amazing sunset view. breakfast was one of the best we ever had in any resorts. Dinner at Al Qalaa was a grade-A experience.

There is absolutely nothing that we didn't like.

You enter the room and feel like you’re in Oman! All the details are thought to make you live and feel the country. Rooms are huge, perfectly organized and with a stunning view. The location is perfect if you want to stay very close to the 4 villages (worth the visit) and have the Diana point right on your doorstep. There are 4 restaurants with plenty of choice and the breakfast is one of the best I have ever had.

Nothing to say about the property but I prefer Jabal shams location if you want to have the mountain experience.

One of the best resorts I ever visited, a total immersion in quality atmosphere, fantastic staff, super facilities, surrounded by beauty everywhere, practically nothing to further long for, only to enjoy and enjoy.

Quality of the food in the Mediterranean restaurant was not always at par with the prices charged. Due to the distance from the city center one remains dependant on the resort facilities which are pricey.

Real, not fake hospitality, enthusiastic, well trained staff, very professional and fast service, professional advice, very good contact with waiters, villa host and reception, stunning mountains and canyon views, fabulous heated swimming pool in villa, no single incident during stay. Total privacy respected by all staff is the hotel highest priority. Very interesting architecture designed to make guests happy. Very good signage of all places, easy to find any. Electric carts for those, who do not want to walk. Hotel is very expensive, but not overpriced, Perfect meals both served to room and in well designed restaurants, very tasty with unique combination of local flavors and ingredients, superb sweets and ice cream, fantastic fruit plates and generous information from staff about each meal. Location in the city is very convenient for those, who want to make small shopping, or use ATM, access within few minutes walk. All in all fantastic, relaxing, comfortable stay. Even unusual guest wishes fulfilled as far as possible. My rating is higher than 5 stars and I can recommend this hotel to everybody, who wants highest quality service and stay. I believe, that this Anantara hotel can be compared with level of Six Senses hotels.

High room service prices, starting 12 EUR for bottle of beer and wines starting from 30 EUR for cheap, mass production names, which are offered online for 5-10 EUR. Alcohol selection overall is not strong side of menu card and bar. You cannot find well known, recognized brands, except of very few examples. Wine manager should take extra lessons, red wine served not chilled at all. If these issues are improved, there will be no smallest reason to complain anything. I had funny conversation with barman, who did not know alcohol range very well and asked what kind of rum he offers, he started looking at labels and looking for rum bottles.

The staff were the most accommodating friendly I have ever experienced. If something is not readily available they will go to lengths to make it happen. The staff were super helpful, cheerful, and nice at all times. We asked for a late check out and they were super accommodating and flexible. They made our stay 10x better. Breakfast is also so great. The variety and quality of the food is amazing.

I think the price of the activities was overpriced. We have stayed in Anantara in Mauritius before and for example a hike was part of the price paid. In this facility to go for a hike would have cost us ~25% of the price of a 2 nights stay at the resort which is in my opinion a bit too high. To encourage guests to go for such activities (even at an additional cost) should be priced in a better way.
