Stop searching! You have found your place to stay in Luang Prabang. Small, perfectly-formed accommodation with some of the very best customer service we experienced on our travels. Phout and the team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, from serving the most delicious breakfasts, booking restaurants and transport for us, recommending places to visit, addressing any query immediately, to big smiles and warm chats every time we walked through reception. The location of Baan Pila was perfect for us. There are cafes, shops, a lovely spa and restaurants on the doorstep and a 5 minute walk will get you in to the heart of the town, and all it has to offer. We stayed in the Mulberry Room, which was huge, absolutely gorgeous, stunningly designed...and very quiet. The room has a beautiful terrace, where the team will gladly serve your breakfast (although the Breakfast Room downstairs is really lovely too.) You can tell the hotel has been created with so much thought, care and attention to every little detail. We would love to return to Laos and will definitely book Baan Pila again.
Leaving this wonderful place!

Great place to stay in Luang Prabang! Beautifully decorated and spacious rooms (they have different sizes), super friendly and helpful staff who can assist with all travel and day trip advice and breakfast is excellent. Location is close enough to the night market and historical town for walking but the free bicycles are a really great way to move around a bit more. There is a small pool at the back with a small but nice lounge area. Highly recommended

Absolutely loved Baan Pila. As a solo traveller, it felt so welcoming, warm and safe, and they were extremely accomodating. The style and design is really nice, with a heap of small touches that I loved (french press coffee in the rooms was great too). They are now serving breakfast as well which you pre-order the night before, which was really nice too.
The only minor point would be more lamps in the rooms so you don't have to use the downlights. With such a beautiful decor, you kind of want ambience in the rooms! But.. absolutely minor. Aside from that, the pool is above ground. I'm sure they intend to put a bigger one in eventually and it does the job, but best to use some resort pool passes from the bigger resorts nearby if you want a pool day.

Home away from home, but even better! If you envisage yourself living in a beautifully designed home, where you’re waited on all the time. And nothing is too much: then this is your ideal place to be. And most likely lightyears away from your real home.😉. Complete relaxmode is what you find here. This niche guestroom house has been opened just four months and comprises of 6 beautifully styled spacious bedrooms, colored and named after one of the fruit trees that grow in the garden. Baan Pila means ‘home of the pomegranate’. You enter into the spacious open area, where you can sit and relax, check in or enjoy a cocktail. There are 4 rooms downstairs, 2 of which can be made into a family booking with adjoining doors. Upstairs are 2 huge rooms, one even with a very spacious covered balcony with table and 4 chairs. We stayed in the Mango room downstairs. Colours in sunny yellow complemented by hot pink and turquoise. The chairs, beds and tables are locally made, fabrics are woven by local weavers, just as every amenity in the bathroom are made of pure essential oils, sourced and made locally. For instance the free mosquito repellent oil is made from 6 botanicals like lemongrass, eucalyptus and others. The breakfast you can choose yourself the day before. And you can choose western or local, or both. The Baan Pila is environmentally conscious and breathes sustainability. Their team complement each other and are treated as one family. And their skillset and heritage are named in the welcoming brochure. Hospitality is engrained in them. The owners were traveling in Europe at the time we visited but left their home in the skilled hands of this team. Should you stay here? Yes, Yes, Yes! I’m not biased. I’ve travelled a lot and stayed in allsorts of places low to high end. This is a lovely place setting example how Lao can cater to another class of travellers/tourists willing to discover Laos.
Nothing really.

Everything. Great location, a ten minute walk into the main town. Immaculate condition of the property and the room was comfortable. Breakfast is fantastic with great choices and freshly prepared options. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Phut who ran things so well and was a star helping me when my booking.com transport arrangements failed. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
A suggestion is that many activities start with a pick up at 8am and we found breakfast starting at 7.30 a bit of a rush as it is so good and things have to be ordered and cooked fresh. Maybe consider a slightly earlier option?? Not a complaint but a helpful suggestion.

Beautiful place with friendly staff. Much care is given to every detail. Breakfast is a la carte and delicious. The pool is not big but good to cool down. Put and her staff did everything to make out stay comfortable. They were also very helpful with arranging the transportation from and to the train as well as a tour to the waterfalls.
At least in our room the shower area was rather small and open so half the bathroom was wet. The car picking us up from the train station was a very small one even though I specifically explained beforehand we were 4 plus luggage. The bicycles could use some maintenance and have some sharp edges - not good for children. But they are for free and anyway most people rent scooters or use Loca to get around, so did we.

The breakfast was one of the best parts of Baan Pila. So many options to choose from, and everything was so delicious! We highly recommend the Khao Soi! Beyond that, Baan Pila was just a lovely place to come back to after a long day of exploring Luang Prabang. A lot of thought was put into every little detail of the property, from the rooms, to the check-in experience. They also have free bikes for you to use. The staff, Miss Phout and Mr Sack, were friendly, helpful and extremely welcoming. You rest easy knowing that you're in good hands.
The toilet of the room we stayed in had a bit of smell – I believe it has something to do with the piping. Whilst it didn't mar our perception of the stay (we love Baan Pila so so much and have been raving about it to all our friends/family) I think that's the one aspect that can be improved on. Everything else was PRISTINE.

I thought that this was just another guesthouse but the design and the quality of the stay was excellent. Arrived earlier than expected and I already got the room ready for use. Room was spacious, clean and really aesthetically pleasing. The location was central and personally for me, quiet which was helpful for me to read and do my reflection. There was food around the area so you don’t have to fret. Breakfast was also provided and the team checks in with you every evening on what you like to have. Having transferred from another luxury hotel, the experience at Baan Pila is comparable and perhaps even more personalised. Free bike was super helpful for me to travel around (even cycling to the gym which was not too far away). I was amazed by the quality of the amenities (shampoo and handwash) that I bought the original brand when I returned to Vientiane. I would recommend anyone to consider staying with the team.
Minor points such as soundproofing of the rooms could be better. Perhaps because it is already rather quiet, one can hear the conversations from other occupants. Also, one of the bikes have a tendency to have its chain loose, so more of to check the quality of the bikes before using them.

The property has been recently renovated so everything was brand spanking new and sparkly clean. the staff really bent over backwards to accommodate us and put a lot of attention to detail in the furnishings of each room, but also in the service too.
There was nothing I didn’t like - I wish the owners every success.

This is a stunning and an absolute gem of a hotel located in a great location in Luang Prabang, with very friendly/helpful staff. The hotel and rooms are so well decorated, with great local artwork and has a very relaxing/peaceful vibe to it. There are only 6 rooms in this place, so it is never busy and also means you are very well taken care of by the staff. The rooms are very modern, clean and spacious, and the bathroom was also big and all the soap/shampoo etc was made by a local company and all natural which was great! Also, a nice touch to have fresh fruit in the rooms too. The hotel provides a great breakfast, which is all freshly made and has several options to choose from - includes local coffee, fresh orange juice and all fresh ingredients for the food. There is also free bike rental - and the bikes are of a high quality - Japanese street bikes. The best part of this hotel is the staff - they are incredibly friendly, genuine and very helpful - they can provide great recommendations for Luang Prabang (and wider Laos), and will go out of their way to help you as needed. They can also organise airport pick-up drop-off off and a tuk-tuk to take you to places like Kuang-Si waterfalls for very good prices. They also offer flexible check-in/check-out and this was very much appreciated! The hotel is also within 10 min walking distance to the centre (and also very close to cafes, shops etc), so it's very well located. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
nothing, it was a perfect stay!
