Mostly, it all went well. Staff very helpful. The facade of the hotel let it down a bit with damage and peeling paint but the interior was much better than expected with a large welcoming entrance lounge and easy room access without too many stairs. Room 93 was large, with an "ensuite" bathroom, and brightly daylit with large windows despite being semi-basement. Clean, well decorated, good "blackout curtains", comfortable twin beds and an idiosyncratic (It was found necessary to turn it off after channel changing and then turning it on again to activate the channel. I forgot to mention it to management!) television.

If I was going to complain about anything, it was about the fact that there was no table booked for breakfast at check-in. So, at breakfast time we entered the dining room, which had numbered tables, and went to sit at an empty one only to have another guest tell us that the table was taken. One after another, staff members asked us what the problem was and having told them, then left us standing, somewhat embarrassed by the stares of other diners, some of whom also queried what we were doing, with loaded breakfast plates in hand, by the entrance doorway for 5 -10 minutes before, eventually, a fourth staff member found us somewhere to sit.

It was lovely having a pool. All of the staff in this hotel are very friendly and work hard. Its kept very clean and the food in the restaurant is to a reasonable standard.

The room we had wasn't that good. Some of the lights were not working, one window wouldn't close properly. The bathroom was very basic especially the shower. The bath was horrible, needs replacing, very gritty. No blind in the bathroom and although there was obscured glass ,passers by can see in. I would say, though, that the reception staff changed the room immediately when we reported this. Its a really nice hotel, even though parts of it need a bit of a refurbishment. We had great service and a great time and would definitely return., but definitely not to room 120.

It was a spacious hotel, the room had all your necessary amenities. It was fantastic that the hotel had a pool, for the most part we had it to ourselves. The view from the dining room at breakfast is fantastic, almost panoramic views of the bay. In my opinion it was a shame that they have such heavy curtains up (they have blinds as well) it would really make the most of the amazing view they have in their breakfast room if the curtains were removed. The hotel is a great location to visit Shanklin Chine which is very beautifully lit up at night!

We had a problem with the shower in our room which didn't work properly, and nearly scalded my partner. The staff couldn't resolve the issue on the night as their was no maintenance staff around at that point but they were quick to provide us with another room key. We didn't move into the room as we were only staying the one night and had already unpacked but it meant we at least had access to a functioning shower.

Great location and value for money. The room was clean and comfortable, new bathroom and carpet. Staff were very friendly, whilst there was obviously quote a few guests staying, it wasn't noisy at all. Nice, all-round breakfast in the morning. Would stay again.

Even though the hotel was obviously built in the 70's/80's and the main areas decor are of this style, however, everything is clean, light and airy in the main areas. The corridors are quite dark but they have motion sensor lighting which works well as you move around.

Having 3 members of staff unsure about where I should sit at breakfast. It made that dining experience feel awkward. The toast was cold and wet! I was informed that I would need to find someone in the hotel or a member of staff to go swimming with me as I was travelling alone!

Have stayed in Shanklin many times before, but never knew this hotel was there. We booked it very last minutes as had a free weekend suddenly became available. Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. Hotel was well presented, reminded us of hotels that we stay in when we go to Spain. Bar prices cheaper than normal hotels. Breakfast was really good value and staff all very friendly.

We personally didn’t find anything that we would of changed about their hotel, it’s fantastic just how it is.

When we first arrived, the lobby and reception were impressively clean and immaculate. We were greeted by friendly and informative staff. Access to our room was via lift. Our room had an amazing Sea view and was nice and quiet. We also had access to the indoor swimming pool. We got it all to ourselves, which was a lovely treat.

Breakfast is good. Staff is very courteous and supportive.

The Hotel do not have restaurant for lunch and dinner which is an inconvenience as there are no restaurants near by. It does provide packed lunch, but, for leisure travel at beach a bar-cum-restaurant is always a necessity. We did not find any toiletries in the bathroom. We asked at the reception and they happily provided.

The swimming pool and sauna were great. great location, next to the sea and easy to get around. staff were lovely and very helpful.

the rooms were slightly noisy, and there were small touches around the room that could have been a bit cleaner. you have to pre book any food you may eat there.

Excellent staff and the rooms were clean, big and airy.perfect location.If I go to Isle of Wight in future, I will surely stay in the same hotel.Breakfast was good too and the staff who served breakfast,were understanding and helpful.

We booked two rooms.They were a bit far way from each other but on the same floor.It was quite busy so they might didn’t have any.
