The hotel was very comfortable, clean and the food was very good. It was the safest place we could stay as two women, especially dear Ahmed, he took great care of us and fulfilled our requests immediately. I will definitely stay again when I visit Cairo and I will recommend it to all my friends. It is a very nice hotel, thank you very much to everyone.

The hotel is in good location at affordable price. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Mr Bald Head, manager of the rooftop restaurant, who always fulfilled any of our requests. Clean rooms, comfy beds, sockets near bed and especially a city view balcony at 11th floor. My favourite and also a plus point is the rooftop restaurant, which has a quite relaxing ambience with terrace and a small swimming pool. It also sells drinks and food at reasonable price.

It has an old elevator that seems a little annoying. The elevator has 2 layers of doors but not automatic, when it stops at a floor, you have to open the door yourself. Luckily we stayed at 11 floor so we can climb stairs to reach the rooftop restaurant at 13 floor. Rooms are not spacious and have no ironing facilities. You have to require for ironing and laundry service. Internet is super lagging, but I think it is due to bad technology infrastructure in Egypt. Last but not least, the breakfast room on the 1st floor had little air and our body was always lingered with the kitchen smell whenever we enter it. Not so many breakfast choices.

the hotel is very close to the American embassy (10 min walking ) I had an appointment at the embassy early in the morning and needed to be there on time so I chose this hotel which was enough for a safe ,clean one night stay ..the hotel is not fancy (if you are looking for a fancy ,shiny stay don't stay here) yet it ls clean ,safe and people are friendly ..the breakfast had the essential food ( eggs ,salad ,fruits ,cereal ,beans ,bakery ) not a big fancy buffet ,yet had almost everything needed for a fine breakfast I liked that I could walk to the hotel yet at night seemed not a good area to walk as 2 females alone so we used uber ...if you like to have a walk around it would be better to take an uber to the center which will only take 5 min ride . the window has no view ..was not a problem for me as I was only staying for a night and on a mission . I enjoyed my stay ..

The area does not feel safe for a solo female to walk alone at night although it is completely ok in the morning ..just a 5 min uber to take you out of the dark empty spot and then you are in the city centre for a walk and exploration there was some noise outside at night which was gone after a while

We were actually staying at a 3 star hotel in downtown but it did not meet our expectations so we decided to leave early and booked this hotel. The staff at the 1st hotel were trying to convince us to stay and when we told them we are going to Mar Charbel, they initially told us it would be the same as the 1st hotel. When I showed them pics of Mar Charbel, they couldn't believe a hotel like that existed for the price. They asked others about it and finally came back to tell me that it was a new hotel and very nice. The location of Mar Charbel was excellent...in the middle of downtown with walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They ordered food for us and got it delivered to our rooms. Breakfast was also excellent with a buffet of many choices and with someone who made fresh crepes and omelets. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and very comfortable.

We would go out in the morning for sightseeing and come back in the afternoon to find that our rooms were not cleaned. However, they did clean them. Just wished they did it while we were out.

The price is such a deal! You get so much. Breakfast was great. It would have been nicer on the 13th floor, but the spread was pretty varied! We loved having shisha and a drink on the roof top at night. The staff was amazing, attentive, flexible with check in times. Our room was wonderful! We had a large room with a balcony. The location was amazing and safe - just a walk down to Tahrir Square and the Nile. We are already talking about our next trip to Cairo, bringing our kids, and booking two rooms at the same hotel. Thank you from my husband and I for an incredible stay! We will be back with our whole family:)

Honestly WiFi it’s great, but this isn’t the hotel’s fault. No one should expect amazing WiFi in Cairo. It takes time for your devices to adjust and then it’s not horrible. There’s separate WiFi connections on all floors, and in the rooms, it’s workable. WiFi is better in the common areas.

We were actually staying at another hotel close by which was a very old 3 star hotel and we quickly checked out of it even though we had it booked for 4 nights. We switched over to Mar Charbel and were so happy we did! It is a new hotel located in downtown and very affordable. The rooms were spacious, clean, bright, and updated. The bathroom was spacious as well. The ladies at the reception were very sweet, friendly, welcoming, and super helpful. They even helped me order food from restaurants to be delivered to my room. Breakfast at the hotel had an assortment of foods. There were many shops and restaurants walking distance to the hotel. I would highly recommend this place!

Rooms were cleaned a little late.

The hotel was in downtown Cairo and a short drive from tourist attractions such as the pyramids of Giza, Sphinx, Salah Al Din's Citadel, Khan El Khalili. This factor was key in selecting this hotel. The accommodation was, clean, lovely and had a very comfy bed! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner, pre-selected from a menu, were quite large portions.

Breakfast choices were limited, however, this is reflected in the price of the accommodation.
