Lovely staff and good hostel.

Cleaning in the room rather superficial, but definitely okay still.

"You come as a guest and leave as a friend" This explains pretty much how the atmosphere in this beautiful hotel is :) starting from the first time you are entering the reception area you feel this family atmosphere which is existing.. You are getting warm welcomed by open and friendly stuff... You always find somebody to have a tea, a coffee, some good food and for sure a lovely chat about sightseeing, the pyramids, culture differences and and heartwarming stories... Thanks so much for let me feel like being a part of your family! I am pretty sure I will come back! I really enjoyed the time a could spend in the hotel, in the cosy common area and on the relaxing terrace. I am taking lovely memories with me about all the people I met there :)

Coolest place in Cairo for “real travelers” because it’s homey, staff is friendly like you are a houseguest, rooms are very basic but you have what you need. Terrace is the social spot, and the pet pigeons are full on adorable. Breakfast on terrace is so pleasant, with simple “normal Egyptian” fare. Coffee excellent. Basically here you are treated like you are almost in a co-op, it has a lot of dignity in the simplicity. Oh and the music played on the terrace is not schlocky “hotel muzak”—George has made amazing playlists using guest recommendations from around the world.

Nothing—just expect simplicity. WiFi adequate but not too strength.

Arriving at this hotel very early in the morning after a long flight, I was greeted with the warmest welcome by Carlos. My boyfriend and I stayed 3 nights here and were honestly sad to leave. The staff at Cecilia are so wonderful and kind. They answered any questions we had and were so helpful with everything. I felt so safe and comfortable around them. The staff ordered food for us at 2:00am in the morning and another baked a beautiful cake for us to try. I would highly recommend this hotel for friends and family to stay when visiting Cairo. Great staff, knowledgeable and friendly people there for good conversations, makes you feel like home! The room with the private bathroom was great, screens for mosquitoes in the window of the bathroom, the drains worked and stayed inside the shower (rare in Egypt). Great private balcony, amazing shared balcony on the corner open 24/7, great place to chill. Amazing location, on a block with restaurants and shops open all day and night, very safe. A couple blocks from tahrir square and the museums. Best hostel in downtown Cairo!

The internet was not a great connection, went in and out in the rooms and very poor on the terrace. A shared fridge would be nice to keep things cold, nothing in the room.

The staff were amazing & Location is great. The staff were so helpful & friendly. Hey Carlos thanks brother for your travel tips around the Cairo & across the Egypt. Everyone I met the staff guys were just simply amazing. I forgot 50 pounds with the reception but the girl reminded me during my checkout in the morning that they owe me 50 pounds. I liked that 😂. Everyone from Carlos, Ola, Sara & other boys there working thanks for making my stay comfortable.

Although hostel is great place to stay given its location & peaceful ambiance but there were some issues with bathroom which was assigned to me. The water was overflowing during the shower. So itself needs working. Overall the hostel was great. It was pleasure to stay there.

Very cozy accomodation in the hearth of Cairo(close of many turistic places).  We went with 2 children and they loved it. We had a large room with 4 beds. Even if there are things that could be improved and the building looks old and bad on the first floors, the room was clean, safe and we stayed very comfortable. We liked the large terrace and the white pigeons. Good internet connection and very friendly owners. Thank you for everything.

Shower cap was broken, could not close one of the woden widow because of missing knob handle, old carpet should be removed at all.

Cecilia its a great hostel with a very central location. Everything its around there, walking distance, restaurants, cafes, shops, metro station, the Nile, Egyptian MusrumI. I had a single room with bathroom and balcony with city views. . My room was big, bed was confy, hot water. I like the hostel 's terrace where I had my included breakfast and where very easy you could meet other travellers. From the manager to the staff everyone was very helpfull and kind, really good people. Highly recomend Cecilia for your stay în Downtown Cairo.

I booked this hotel with the idea of staying a few hours before my flight. I didn't stay the night, but I can assure you, the room is spotless and clean. The entrance of the building, with its unique historical charm, may not look safe. But no worry—it is a century-old building, and the hotel owners can't do anything until the government authorizes maintenance. Jorge (George), the owner, and the staff members (Sarah and others) are super friendly and charming people who will make your time in Cairo more memorable. I spent a few hours chatting with them, and the conversation was great. There were many smiling faces and happiness, which made my trip to Egypt even better. I greatly recommend this place if you want to upgrade your visit to Egypt with the staff-friendly hostel.

We stayed there for two nights. The staff were really helpful and kind and they gave us some recomendations about the city. We could left our baggage there after check out to do tourism. The floor where the hotel is ubicated was in good conditions. Our room was big and confortable, without noise at night. The beds and pillows were really good. It had air conditioner. The cleaning of the toilet could be better. There was a breakfast buffet (coffe, tea, milk, salad, bread, cake, vegetables, cheese, falafel) that was good. There was free drinks for guests during stay. The best of the hotel was the terrace. I would choose again this hotel for my next visit in Cairo.

The hotel was ubicated in the 6th floor of a building that wasn't in good conditions (in other floors there were some cats, and they were dirty and bad smelly, with humidities and broken furnitures), like others in Cairo.
