Everything was beautiful. The grounds are clean and well kept. The room was very pleasant, clean and comfortable. we even had a Keurig coffee maker and pods in our room. Wine and cheese every afternoon was especially nice. We met some very interesting people. The staff was also very accommodating and friendly.

We stayed here several times in the past when there was a very nice breakfast available but now they issue credit vouchers toward certain restaurants. We found most didn’t serve breakfast and some weren’t even open every day. Some were too gourmet for our taste. A better variety would be better

The tropical landscaping created a serene escape in the middle of Avalon. We loved sitting by the fire and lounging in the chaise lounges amongst the trees and plants in the quiet solitude and warm Sun. The private sitting areas screened by a hedge outside our room added to our relaxation and joy. We could sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and read quietly while the rest of our party slept. The breakfast was adequate with bagels, cream cheese, juice and coffee. A good start to busy days. The wind and cheese reception was a great way to meet new people and unwind. The hotel is perfectly located with stunning water views while you enjoy the fire or sitting areas. The room was cozy and well appointed. We will definitely return every time we visit Avalon!

Nothing, loved it!!

It’s an amazing place. The hotel has two building separated by 3 separate areas as you go father back into the common area it just amazing the first area is under sun shades and it tables great for people watching as this is right off the main area looking at the port. Then another area behind is a huge fire pit w comfy chairs and behind that is a lounge area hidden among the garden pick your spot to rest catch some sun or just hangout. It’s great. Rooms are clean and comfy beds. Breakfast was an array of pastry bagels fruit juices coffees and teas. Staff is friendly and helpful. This place offers a deal w local restaurants to give you money off your dining experience. Worth a visit.

There was nothing to not like.

Most everything except for one, the timing in order to use the $20 credit to apply to your bill with four restaurants, Atwater, Descanso Beach Club, Antonio’s Pizzeria, Avalon Grille.

You have to use the $20 restaurant credit the same day you checkin. By the time you check in at 4pm, Atwater Bistro is already close. Descanso Beach Club closes at 5pm. So you are technically left to use is only at Antonio’s Pizzeria and Avalon Grille.

It was absolutely beautiful!! The staff were so amazing and helpful. The wine and cheese reception was so nice! Such a nice touch. We don't drink but they had yummy lemonade and fruit infused water as well. And the location was so perfect.

There wasn't anyone from the hotel with a sign when we got off the boat to get our luggage like the description said. We waited for 20 minutes and decided to just walk with our luggage. Turns out, we just missed him. But It was only a 5-10 minute walk. Also the coffee maker didn't work.

For a central location, the Pavilion Hotel in Catalina can't be beat! It truly is just "steps" from the beach and right in the heart of downtown Avalon. The rooms were comfortable and spotless and the grounds were lovely. The hotel hosts a continental breakfast and a wine/cheese hour right on the grounds and both of these are thoughtful touches that make you feel like a valued guest. We particularly liked the warmth of the staff, the ease of leaving our luggage there before and after check-in and the free use of beach and lounge towels.

There was a bit of wasp/hornet infestation all over Catalina during our visit. The bugs were a bit annoying. Perhaps a "bug trap" or citronella candle or something would have eased the frustration with the critters.

The coffee, pastries, and bagels were good. Great view looking out towards the ocean.

The front door to the room is right next to the room next door. So when the occupants from next door were opening or trying the handle on there door, it seemed like they were trying to open our door. We would also request a second floor room on our next visit. The occupants upstairs sounded like they had kids and seemed like they were jumping around for hours.

We loved the beautiful, well-kept garden and how nicely this older property has been remodeled or refreshed. We loved that there was a lot of seating in the garden and at the front of the property and that it is right by the harbor and everything else. The staff were kind, responsive and helpful.

our only real issue was with the running toilet. It would refill the tank about every five minutes and was loud. Even though we asked for it to be fixed, it wasn’t. We just shut the valve off at night so we could sleep. It was helpful that we were told that the toilets use salt water which corrodes the valves and causes the leaking. It would help maybe to put a card on that in the rooms because with at the cards about conserving the previous water, we couldn’t understand why the property would waste it with a running toilet until we got the explanation. It would also help people to know that concerning water in Catalina is not only about the drought but also because (we were told) the only fresh water is rainwater or desalinized water.

Lovely property, comfortable, clean rooms, great location. Staff were pleasant and helpful if asked. Really enjoyed the wine and cheese hour!

We weren'tt directed to an elevator on check in, figured it wouldn't be hard to find. Ended up having to ask a gardener (?) who said the lift was broken...and it was with no sign stating so. (BTW, it is located toward the back of the property) It was hard to lug heavy luggage up the stairs to the 2nd floor

Hotel staff is my most favorite here. A shout out to Julia. She’s super awesome! All staff are excellent with great service mind starting from front desk, room services, housekeepers, and wine servers! The room is a bit run down with spotty Wi-Fi, but hey we were on an island. Morning pastries are my favorite and though our family ain’t a fan of wine and cheese, we truly appreciate this daily amenities. We will definitely stay and recommend hotel pavillion to everyone going to Catalina.

Room is a bit small and dark. Safe box was broken and so-fI worked half of the time.
