We are from Taiwan, and this is the third time my wife and I have stayed here. We are very grateful to the hotel for allowing us to store our luggage before noon, and after checking in, the staff thoughtfully placed our luggage directly in our room. What surprised us even more was that the day of check-in was my wife’s birthday. We didn’t make a special note of it, but the hotel remembered, and there was a small surprise in the room! The hotel was as clean and comfortable as always. When we entered the hotel, the Wi-Fi automatically connected, which felt like the hotel was welcoming us back—it was very heartwarming! The hotel is right next to the Shimotori shopping street and very close to the Kumamoto City Tram, so we highly recommend staying here!

This was the best hotel on our trip to Kyushu. We wish we could've stayed longer in Kumamoto. The hotel was fairly new and had a great view of the castle on the rooftop. The location was perfect; walkable to the castle and the downtown area. There's lots of newer/modern restaurants and shops in the neighborhood behind as well. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The best part was the pajamas. They were super comfortable and stylish. They even sell them to support local school children who designed them. The staff was also great and very easy to communicate with.

A small but cozy hotel in the immediate vicinity of Kumamoto Castle. We had a room with a view of the castle. Check-in and check-out are perfect, the breakfast is simple but nothing to complain about, the location is perfect. And there is also a great rooftop area, you can grab a coffee or beer and admire the view. There are no complaints about the condition of the rooms and the work of the staff - everything is at the highest level. For a three-star hotel, this is simply an excellent choice.

Great location underneath the castle, which could be seen from our room. Decent size room for the price. Fast WiFi and wired internet. Room has a capsule machine for coffee and tea, a step up from most places. (Savoury) Japanese breakfast is delicious and well worth the price, unless you are looking for something sweet like bread or pancakes.

No room for pick-up and drop-off outside the hotel, not a big deal by any stretch and it's the only negative I can think of.

Everything went very well before (prompt communication) and during my stay. The single room I got was the biggest one I had during this trip to Japan. The castle view (I had specifically asked for it) was unique as well as the roof terrace from which one can enjoy an amazing view. The bed was comfortable. Excellent Japanese breakfast. Very polite and professional staff. Great value for money. Thank you!

The ventilator in the bathroom was very noisy. A/C indications on the remote only in Japanese.

Relatively affordable hotel in a great location, the rooms seem brand new and very clean. Staff was very nice, and I was put into a room with a castle view. The rooftop terrace is also very nice. Room feels larger than it is.

While the walls between rooms are soundproof, you can hear if people are loud in the hallway.

- The room is big and comfortable. - The receptionists are willing to help. - Great view to the Kumamoto Castle on the rooftop. - There is a spacious room near the entrance that you can put all your clothes and luggage, and even a air purifier that you can dry your clothes there.

- There should be a better guidance for the laundry usage. A guest mistakenly added bleach to the washing machine without realizing that the detergent was already pre-loaded.

The location is good with castle view in front and shopping street in the back. Exceptional service. The checkin is easy and good, even I arrive a little earlier, I can do it quickly and leave my stuff there then went out to explore the city, all my things were already in the room. The breakfast surprise me.

Stayed one night. Room was comfy and clean. Many restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Right in front of the castle so you can have a nice view of it from the rooftop.

Keep in mind if arriving by car that the parking is not onsite. It's just a 3 minute walk away in another parking complex so not an issue. But you do have to pay for it. They have information on their website about the parking lots available to customers so just make sure to take a look in advance.

Lovely hotel overlooking the amazing castle of Kumamoto. The hotel has a peaceful rooftop overlooking the castle. The rooms are bright and well fitted and the hotel has a nice modern feel. The staff here had a nice way about them and were kind and helpful.

I didn't dislike anything about this hotel. It is an ideal base for taking in Kumamoto. Be aware you will need a taxi, bus or street car if you arrive via Kumamoto station. That said, the main sights of the city are all close by otherwise.
