Amazing onsen with a neat outdoor section and a sauna. Great location as well. It's right next to Donan bus station which has daily shuffle buses from and to downtown Sapporo, CTS airport, etc. (Online reservation required.) A great and affordable choice for experiencing Noboribetsu Onsen.

FYI, the outdoor onsen is pretty compact compared to what I have seen in other cities. Not really a criticism since it has everything I ask for inside.

Food was very good, buffet style, both for dinner and breakfast, mainly Japanese but also pizza and pasta and other things. This allowed choosing things we liked. Nice room and onsen, both exterior and interior. Jigokudani is less than 10 min walk so location is great.

Perhaps if you are looking for a true ryokan experience, this is more like a hotel and more modern, and does not have a set meal like in usual ryokans. There were also quite a lot of flies on the onsen waters, I would maybe encourage more revisions of waters or to provide some tools to facilitate cleaning the water.

The hotel is located right across the bus terminal. We arrived around 1pm, so we managed to drop our bags before check-in time. We had booked a double room, but they gave us an upgrade to a suite on the top floor. It was amazing. We think it had to do with a large group of students staying that night... The onsen facilities were very nice and not too crowded before dinner (at check-in, staff recommended time slots for the onsen too). Despite this large group staying, the restaurant service was also smooth. The hotel was very, very busy that day, and still, staff was very helpful and they were really nice to all of us. The buffet options were really good and staff was always restocking. They had a lot of people around to ensure everything was working.

The breakfasts were very nice, lots of choices of food, a number of nearby restaurants in the town was also nice to give some further options for food for dinners - the Onsens were lovely, one indoor one outdoor (which can be closed if water levels get too low during winter) - I stayed in one of the Tatami rooms, which was very nice as staff would set up and put away beds each day, Yukatas are provided which fit most sizes.

Felt like the heating for the rooms was on a little bit too high, as when I first got in it was a little uncomfortable, The Wifi/Signal in the area is a little spotty (To be expected, you're in the mountains)

Old hotel yet v well maintained. Hot spring inside the hotel. Toiletries is provided inside the hot spring including hair dryer. Jigokudani (地獄谷) or "Hell Valley Walking distance from hotel. Donan Bus terminal less than 5 minutes walk. Ninja village n others just few stop away. Bus drop off at JR noboribetsu station. Offer the little extras, Big run offer express bus to this hotel drop off (1000yen) from Sapporo. Sapporo pickup @ Kamari is very to near gracery hotel, next to Lawson with a very small door, don’t miss it. Do booked before hand. Super convenient. Hotel wifi really slow. Buffet spread is large. Large buffet spread but is the same every morning n evening. Was nice of them to give crab legs on our last night stay during dinners. Our bed was make ready when we got back to our room after dinner . Nice pyjamas provided.

Nothing if you are not fussy

Hotel was just across from the bus terminal. Within walking distance from most attractions and eateries. Staff was efficient in preparing our tatami-styled room everyday.

The breakfast and dinner was amazing.

The food items could list whether it has meat in the dishes for my vegetarian friend.

Everything was good except food and shuttle bus arrangement. Not enough food choices for overseas visitors who are not used to Japanese style breakfast (rice and dishes). Besides, sushi and tempura in dinner and eggs for breakfast are basic items but were poorly prepared/cooked. Check-in starts at 3pm but shuttle bus schedule is arranged in such a way that it would arrive at hotel at 3:30pm. Then all people went to check-in and when I got my room key, it was already 4pm+. The sunset time was 5:30pm and it was a pity that I was only able to enjoy small part of the hell valley.

The onsen was superb, one of the best I've been to – the water was heavenly hot and the sauna had Finnish löyly facilities, very rare in Japan! Also liked the free drinks offered at the dressing room. The dinner and the breakfast were very sufficient (I could almost say there was too much to choose from).

The room was hot and poorly air-conditioned.

Onsen for sure. Also that may be by chance, but we got a really good room for 2 of us. Lots of space, japanese-style, great view, 9th floor. I forgot to bring my swimsuit so couldn't check the swimming pool, but the fact they have it already speaks much. Breakfast was good, i enjoyed it.

Breakfast ends really early, you have to keep that in mind. Also staff was very annoying with closing time, they told me the same sentence about closing personally around 4 times while i was there (even before time ran out). Also you have to take the bus to the location of the hotel, which was really crowded and sometimes delayed, so be careful not to miss your scheduled ride after it
