Their Kaiseki set dinners were an interesting experience. One should have an appreciation of seafood to truly enjoy these dinners. The quality, service and presentation were excellent. The hot bath facilities was very good, having a variety of different bath water available to try. The staff always keeping the facilities very clean and well stocked with bathe needs.

What we did not expect was the sometimes strong smell of sulfur from the surrounding steam vents. The room was fine. We got used to the smell by the second day, with the exception of my wife who began having breathing issues.

The bus that goes directly to the hotel is infrequent- do time your arrival from the JR station correctly

Hotel is super spacious, we have a twin room, new treats given everyday! Also the staff who checked in for us is an intern but really helpful even though she knows little English. Instructions were really clear regarding the onsen, suitable for people who never ever been to an onsen. Souvenir store staff were good too, tries to communicate with us although she spoke little English, - an intern as well.

What I noticed is that the FT staff doesn’t help the interns when they were having a difficult time with customers.

The onsen experience is awesome. The view is nice and the facility is good. Very near to hell valley. Just an extra information, if you are travelling by JR train, once you reach noburibetsu station, you will need to take Donan bus to come the hotel. There’s a bus ticket vending machine at the noburibetsu station. Do bear in mind that the Donan last bus ends around 8-9pm. So plan properly if you are coming by public transport. Don’t worry about food, there are restaurant and convenient store nearby.

If you are travelling by public transport and bringing a big luggage, there’s a slope for you to walk up to the hotel.

There are about 14 onsens all in one place on the same floor. So amazing. I especially love the waterfall bath - so relaxing, good massage to relieve my tight muscles. There are onsens for high blood pressure, smooth complexiond, circulations, skin conditions digestions and etc. The outdoor onsen gives one the feeling experience of soaking in the forest. They have very good amenities.. We were so pleasantly surprised by their wide buffet breakfast and dinner spread.. Both are excellent! Spoilt for choices. I especially enjoyed their crab and melon ice cream. :) Will return for my next stay!

The onsen is something i wanna comment! There are at least 10 types of onsen, from normal ones to waterfall, outdoor, lying down ones etc. the best 2 i would say is outdoor one during winter and also the waterfall. The waterfall is like a massage session and the pressure is on point!! Super impressed with it. The onsen also provides HA, collagen gel etc for face, leave in conditioner for hair and basically its so well thought! Staff were also friendly and location is perfect!! Easy to travel to tourist spots via bus. Shopping and food street 3 min away! Rooms were clean, bed comfortable!

(1) Best and the biggest onsen I've been! Very spacious. I would go again just for the onsen. I think it's also open to visitors during the day. (2) Didn't have dinner at the facility because kaiseki was 7700 yen per peson, but the area has very little dinner options, so actually we might try this next time (3) Room was spacious for four of us and very clean. The staff came between 6 - 9 to set up the mattresses in the tatami room (4) Staffs are extremely kind (5) Taiko show was inspiring (6) Free parking!

The location was perfect. Walking distance from some local shops and restaurants, as well as the trails to Hell Valley. The staff were extremely helpful and kind, and gave very detailed instructions. The baths were breathtaking. The indoor grand bath has a beautiful view of Hell Valley, and I was able to see deer resting in view of the windows. Each bath had specific uses and with real hot spring water. I liked the sulfur baths the most. The outdoor baths were wonderful to cool down and enjoy nature. Lastly, the hotel does not discriminate against tattoos. I am covered in tattoos, and no one had complaints or asked me to leave. I felt safe to enjoy the onsen and soak up the healing waters i desperately needed.

The Japanese room is showing some age. It could use a refresh on wallpaper and tea kettles. The hotel is installing a new carpet that is too thick for rolling luggage to move freely on. Hopefully, time will make it less thick and easier to move luggage

Japanese style room in main building was a very good size, and comfortable. Most thoughtful thing is, there is a public toilet on each floor. When you have 4 adults sharing one room toilet, there might be times when having a public toilet a few steps outside the room will come very handy. Room was clean and comfortable. Onsen was huge, with a variety of pools, steam and sauna. Huge resort, but facilities are adequate and although check in took some time due to the crowd, it was efficiently done. Location is great, right on the main shopping street, and very close to entrance of Hell's Valley. Souvenir shop is well stocked with Hokkaido products. They provide good explanatory sheets for users on how to wear yukata, onsen etiquette, etc.

Kaiseki dinner was nice, but could be better. Breakfast buffet was ok. Renting table-tennis equipment was a little expensive.

Everything. Location is easy to find - after coming out of the JR station, wait at the bus stop, get off the bus at N13. And there is a friendly staff can guide you, u can just show him the destination, he will tell you how to get there. Around the hotel, everything is convenient. U can see the hell valley from the hotel. It's also very close to the bear park. Food in the buffet is delicious. Onsen is relaxing, and definitely natural. I would like to visit again very much.
