room was quite spacious , bed was comfortable, nice shower, breakfast was very good .

we did not appreciate the no housekeeping service . This is supposed to be a 5 star property and with the higher status and price, one would expect that housekeeping daily would be a given provided service.. We also didn't appreciate being charged 75.00 ancillary ( security ) per day for incidentals that may or may not happen , then the hotel says it will be reimbursed 3 -4 days after our stay . that's extremely not a normal way of conducting business. Parking at the property was disappinting as parking was not included in the hotel stay . it was not a covered parade or secured area.and it was located more than a block away in a pothole filled gravel empty lot ( not secured )The hotel charges 25.00 per day on top of room charge just to park.

The harbor view king suite was beautiful, we loved the set up of the room. It was very clean and the valet service was good.

When we came back to our room around 11pm the stairs were filled with people smoking different substances swearing loudly. We had to walk around them two large groups of people right at the door. I think it would have been nice if the hotel had asked them to move to the side of the building or at least the side of the entry way.

The hotel and the room was very clean. Pleasant front desk staff. Nice products in the shower and really nice rain shower head with very roomy size shower. Very comfortable bed. Nice view of water! We loved the location - it was close to everything which was ideal.

The A/C in the building was not working therefore the room was very warm for our entire stay. We only found this out when we checked out but were happy with the adjustment in rate we received. Also the curtains don't provide full room darkness so if you like early wake up's with the sun shining through the room, you will be happy!

The contemporary decor I found to be beautiful both upon entering the hotal and throughout its hallways and breakfast/bar area The suite overlooking the Halifax waterfront was delightful. It was contemporary and the walk-in shower, larger than expected, was fabulous. I loved that the couch was a sectional with a chaise lounge. The hot breakfast although self-serve was very good with lots of food choices with the quality of a brunch and coffee was served by a server.

Although the rest of this contemporary suite was in immaculate condition, the floor space betwen the sections of the ocouch should have been vacuumed and, although the sectional itself was very comfortable, there was a short black diagonal streak on the back of the chaise lounge section which looked like it had been there awile. I did not like the parking situation because it was not attached to the hotel but was located in an insecure open parking lot kitty corner from the hotel for an extra $25 a night.

I recommend the king suite with harbour view. We had wonderful views of the harbour from both the living room and bedroom. The suite was quite roomy with a kitchenette ( no dishes or cutlery included), living room , bedroom and large bathroom. The bathroom shower was great and couldn’t believe there was a TV mounted behind the bathroom mirror. The location was the best- easy walk to the harbour, restaurants , the Citadel and the Halifax public gardens. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning and used the clean laundry facilities. We would stay here again.

The parking wasn’t the best. We were assured by the front desk that parking was available in 3 adjacent lots, but we were able to park in the first lot every day. China cups for coffee and tea would have been nice and a newer style coffee maker in the room plus access to additional coffee supplies.

The room was amazing I really enjoyed the view on the water. It was spacious and well laid out and was able to invite my colleagues in the room to hangout. The location was really nice as we had lots of restaurants within walking distance.

The only negative thing i could say is that the parking for 25$ a night to be outside in an unsecured area was unpleasant for a high end hotel. There was no gate or anything like that. So if there was something to improve it would be the parking situation. I've stayed at other hiltons with cheaper and nicer parking available to me.

We've stayed at the Hollis several times when visiting Halifax. We really like the large suites and have used them for visiting with family during our stays. We also enjoy being so close to the harbour and to the downtown restaurants and bars. We have also found the staff and service to be very helpful. The Hollis is one of our favourite places to stay downtown Halifax!

There is no nice place to have an evening drink at the hotel, but there are many other nearby options available. Otherwise, there isn't much not to like!

This was our first time and won’t be our last! We travelled with our toddler and we loved our suite set up - cozy apartment vibes, separate bedroom. Our tv was having issues and they replaced it immediately. We also got a text from the concierge when we checked in. Incredible service the entire stay.

I need to give a HUGE “THANK YOU” to the house keeping staff; I left a ring that was priceless to me behind , the housekeeper found it and returned to to the lost and found. The management of the lost and found was willing to mail it out to me, but I was returning to the city 2 weeks from the previous stay, so they kept it safe for me till I returned and management came out personally to hand it to me. this was far and beyond exceptional treatment . Thank you again .

The size of the room was great! One of the most spacious hotel rooms that I’ve been in for awhile. Also, having a microwave and refrigerator was nice to have. Plus the TV had cable with tons of channels, which was nice at night. Finally, the location was amazing. The hotel is very centrally located and right near the waterfront, so it was very easy to visit the city by walking everywhere, since it was close to all the main sights and restaurants.

It was kind of annoying to keep having to call for fresh supplies all the time. I stayed for 5 nights. There’s no cleaning staff that came to clean the room during this time apparently because of COVID, but it would have been nice to have been left extras instead of the usual daily amount and then have to keep calling every time I needed toilet paper, etc.
