Excellent city centre location. No parking or stopping area which was awkward for pick ups and drop offs. We had a studio apartment which was very well appointed, comfortable and nicely decorated. Also a good sized bathroom . The kitchen area was very well equipped. We looked onto Argyll Street which was quiet in February but probably noisy later in the year.check in was online and we had door codes for the front door and our apartment which worked well. The cleaning staff were very helpful, with fresh towels and sheets as needed. Laundry facilities available.

Would be ideal to have a drop off area.

The location of the Cameo was perfect for us, being older we were soooo glad of the lift. We were on the Barrington Street side which was quiet most nights but was mostly frequented my boy/men racers with very loud exhausts. Maybe they were practicing for the Monte Carlo Grand Prix!!! We even had a very large building crane turn up at 11pm that made an almighty racket until 12.40 am! I don’t think the hotel can be held responsible for external noise and most nights were ok including Saturday night. I think we got off lightly! :)

Apart from the noise which you warned us about. The shower needs a hand rail, although it’s very safe with the non slip mat, thank you. :)

In the afternoon, there was very loud partying. Not a big deal as it was daytime, but the place is not sound proof. When we got home about 8:00, it was perfectly quiet - partyiers were out- so we were lucky. We joked that we were on the show "Friends" as the decor reminded us of their apartment. We had everything we needed to create snacks and share drinks.

Just the fact that it wasn't sound proof. We could hear every word that the couple in the next apartment were saying. It felt like they were in our room. And they started playing rap music. Not our fav and so loud. It was hard to over-ride, even when we played music. There was one loud bump in the night that woke us all up. Luckily nothing more so people must have passed out. Again, we were lucky.

The Cameo is in the perfect location to visit Downtown Halifax. Very close to harbourfront and attractions in the downtown core I was a bit concerned as I read reviews made after I booked. There were many complaints about noise, partying, and smell of marijuana. I'm happy to report that we didn't experience any of that. For context, we had unit #301 which faces Barrington Street. There were some late night motorcycles on Barrington but nothing major. And, despite the fact it was Dal Convocation Week, no parties could be heard. Smell weed? None in the building, for certain. Certainly, marijuana use is evidenced throughout the city. Of course there is because it's legal in Canada.

There was nothing we didn't like. This unit had a/c. It's brightly decorated and features are up to date.

The apartment was spacious and one could easily stay there for an extended business stay or while looking for permanent housing. It is centrally located.

Parking is difficult. Our unit (201) was toward Barrington, which had the usual street noise. However, the whole night there was a noise that seemed like a washing machine was running (and we may have been below the shared washing machine room on the third floor). I slept very poorly. While most furniture was quite good, the side table at the couch was close to falling apart - I did not feel comfortable to put anything heavy on it.

The suite was clean, bright and modern. The beds were comfortable. I enjoyed the space and would stay again

Check in was confusing. We were among other guests outside trying to figure out how to get in. Instant coffee didn’t match the beautiful atmosphere. I would have loved notice to bring coffee and have a French press or an automatic Nespresso or keurig. No parking was a small issue as it says you can park in front but it’s clearly a no parking zone. Coffee, parking , check in - aside from this I absolutely loved it and would most definitely recommend and stay again !

The facility was not busy, I didn't see any other people, so it was wonderfully quiet. Self-check in was easy once I went through the process. Though there is no parking for the facility, the hollis street parkade is about 2 minutes walking distance, easy to bring luggage etc without needing to park out front. Laundry facilities were on the same floor as the unit, and were clean. The room was very tidy and well appointed with all the necessities (kitchen: full size fridge with freezer, oven and microwave with toaster and kettle in the drawers etc; I have a personal preference for dish cloths for cleaning and I couldn't find any, but other supplies were provided; ironing board and closet space for professionals; seating and work surfaces). The bed was pushed up against the wall which may be tricky for 2 people but worked fine for me and was comfortable and warm. The shower head is quite high (I'm 5'4" and had to reach quite high to adjust), and would likely fit those who are near the 6' range. The shower itself is spacious and had shampoo/conditioner and body wash provided. Very conveniently located next to many coffee shops and breakfast places, all within a short walk, or you can grab a couple basic groceries along the way and make your own in the suite. Fantastic location for any evening/late night activities downtown as it's quite centrally located around clubs, restaurants etc and not far from Scotiabank Centre. However, it can be quite busy with traffic/construction during business hours so keep in mind when driving. Parking was easy to find after hours but is more difficult if coming during business hours (730-8am etc). Also, Barrington street is a main route for many bus routes that can get you around town (most, if not all are accessible for wheelchairs etc) with a bus stop almost at the door step.

My only complaint is the shower floor: the lower lip for the shower door wasn't quite high enough and was prone to some over flow and leaking and the grade in the shower resulted in a fair bit of water pooling. Personal preferences: I would have preferred the water to be hotter but I realize not everyone likes to cook themselves in the shower ;) The self-check in was generally smooth, however mine had a couple of little bumps (took some time to receive the codes for access after check-in) and needed to use the assist for help but they were expeditious and easy to communicate with. This may be difficult for those not as technologically inclined but I believe that the online check-in process is described well before booking.

A very well equipped apartment that could have been brilliant. It so nearly was. The living area was comfortable, the bed was good, clean room and the kitchen that had everything we needed. Very good location, and a cool and industrial old vibe to the building.

The building is protected due to age etc, so the aircon was through a hole cut into the window. This itself is not a problem, however it means the window blind cannot shut fully. I bit of thoughtful tailoring could solve this. Some previous water damage let the bathroom down, but overall still a great place to stay.

Comfortable apartment in downtown Halifax. Well equipped, good beds, clean.

Location downtown does suffer from noisy rooftop terras of pubs. Impersonal check-in. No staff on site. Check-in code for the main entrance door did not work. Another resident let us in. The kiosk screens in the lobby are rather small, but in the end we figured out how to resend the door codes. After receiving the EXACT same codes again, it worked. Just an unpleasant experience after a ling flight, and disappointing that the error is in the system and well known by the owner.

If you are looking for a place to stay in downtown Halifax, this is a great option. The room is a great size - essentially a studio apartment, which was great as I was working from there. The essentials are provided (full kitchen, dishes) and the bed was very comfortable so slept very well. Earplugs are provided, which is thoughtful (useful for summer visitors). I wanted an affordable place downtown and this exceeded expectations. Self-service was new for me but it was well through out, so check in/out not a problem.

The self-service was new for me so checking in and during the power outage was an adjustment in trying to sort out what was going on. For the power outage, I was advised thru the Booking app (vs mobile, which they had) so didn't see it right away. Checking in was on me; didn't read the instructions properly (codes were provided in order of room then lobby vs lobby, which you need first, then room so entered room code in lobby - oops).
