We really like our stay in Hostal Athenas! On the first place I recommend it because they offer cheap prices for location close to the metro (5 minutes walk), also it's close to supermarket, cafe and place for yummy breakfast. With the metro you can go to Sagrada Familia for 20 minutes. The hostel stuff everyday change the towels and make the beds, that it's super nice!!! Our last day they give us an option to use baggage storage that helps us a lot!!!

I've had the opportunity to stay at Hostal Athenas for 5 nights. The first thing to say about this place is, there are really good staff in there and Rosa was the kindest of them. They are trying everything to meet their customers' needs and wants. The cleaning team was also very good. When I came back to my room every night, it was really good to see more than one clean towel and fresh sheets. They also have self check-in machine in front of the facility that ensures 7/24 check-in opportunity without any staff. For the overall opinion, it was a really good accommodation preference for me.

The only negative thing about this place is its location. It's a little bit far away from Barcelona city centre. But there is a metro line only 5 minutes walk away from Hostel Athenas which has connections to almost all stations.

It is well placed near a large supermarket and subway station. It's clean and tidy, with a modern aesthetic. I liked the check-in machine at the door, although I'm not a fan of automation.

The room and bathroom did not have enough surface areas like tables, or a desk to put stuff. While the sink was quite small, the shower head was also fixed in the wall and it was difficult to almost impossible to wash something a little bigger by hand. It can get a bit noisy from the street or adjacent apartments but nothing ear plugs can't fix.

Good location, 4 minute walk to metro. 15 minutes on metro to the centre. Small but adequate room for solo traveller. Very comfortable bed/bedding. Very clean and well maintained. Attentive housekeeping. No frills but had everything I needed for my stay. Great power shower. Fast wifi. Fantastic value for money. I will happily stay again

Check in machine was a bit fiddly. Shower cubical had a slight leak. Would have liked a shelf within the shower cubical for toiletries. As noted by others, not very sound proof but did not effect my sleep. No major issues, I eenjoyed my stay

Very nice accommodation, according to the price. Shops, restaurants, market are very close. The accommodation is clean, tidy and the staff very good. They immediately helped with all questions and requests. Well connected to the metro, so that all of Barcelona is easily accessible.

The beds are a little uncomfortable, but after walking all day, it's not a big problem to fall asleep right away 😃

The rooms are small but very comfortable. The same is true for the bathroom too. Some rooms have a nice balcony with a nice view. The location is good. There is a market very close to the hostel, the metro station is about 5-10 minutes walk away, and there are some cheap cafes and bars around.

The self-check-in was somewhat complicated. For 3-person check-in, we spent about 15-20 minutes outside, because the machine could not read the passports and all information was imputed manually. The reception is not 24h, however, they managed to secure luggage storage on checkout day for the whole day for free. The energy-saving system was stupid. After every opening and closing of the door, it was switching off.

Clean room and cleaning were done every day. The facilities are according to descriptions, quiet area close to the metro station and market. The access is on base of key card.

Lack of a small balcony.

I liked the automated check in. If you don't like using computers/automated machines then you might not like this. However, you always have the option of checking in with the receptionist during their working hours. I liked that you have your own bathroom, I always thought that "hostals" were only for sharing rooms and amenities. I was wrong. Also, quick answers on the Booking.com website/app

The rooms are not soundproof at all. If you are a light sleeper I recommend taking headphones/earplugs. You can hear the people/tv/music from the rooms around and above you.

We had a lovely stay in a nice room, though a bit more fridge space and a cooktop would have been appreciated. The bathroom was also very nice. The location was convenient, just a short walk from the metro station, making it easy to reach the city centre. While it's not right next to the main tourist spots and nightlife, the connection to them is still good. The highlight of our stay was the amazing staff—I truly appreciate everyone who took such great care of us during our visit.

The location next to L2 metro station is excellent, automatic check-in is easy and the room had comfortable beds, fridge and microwave (though we haven't used it). It's also next to the market and many cafes and supermarkets, so it's really good value for money.

The rooms are not too big and they need some redecorating. There was a smoke detector alarm and because the reception was not 24h, we had to wait 20+ minutes for someone to check this (no fire, someone decided to smoke in their room)
