Leisure facilities include swimming pool, sauna ,steam room, jacuzzi and gym. Great location opposite Retail Park and 5 minutes walk to town centre and 5 minutes walk to canal link to river Shannon. Less than 1 hour drive on M6 to Galway City and hourly train connections to Galway /Dublin..

Breakfast was help yourself. Many varieties of food hot and cold. Great varieties of breads. Breakfast was Excellent Gracious Staff served Tea and Coffee. The staff were all so helpful, and kind, Great attention to detail. One was made to feel very welcome. Dinner menu was also extensive enough for me. Hotel is spotless.

New beds are not as comfortable as old beds. When I stayed at Shearwater before the beds were so comfortable. I made a point of examining mattress to see name. I wanted to get/buy a similar mattress as the bed was so comfortable. I believe beds have been updated. They are not as comfortable as previous mattresses, Pillows could be softer. I was unable to reach shampoo/soap dispenser in bathtub. I am 5ft 3ins. Dispensers are placed far too high on wall. No small soap bars in bathroom that one could take into bath. I.do not like how prices are exorbitantly increased at weekends.

When my wife and I decided to take a little night away, we never expected to stumble upon such a hidden gem. Our stay at this hotel was absolutely brilliant, and I couldn't wait to share our experience. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but this place deserves it. So, here goes—excuse any spelling or pronunciation errors! Immaculate Rooms and Facilities From the moment we stepped into our room, we were impressed. The rooms were extremely clean and modern, a true testament to the hotel's dedication to cleanliness and comfort. Every corner of the hotel was spotless, making us feel right at home. Friendly and Helpful Staff The staff at this hotel were some of the friendliest and most helpful we've ever encountered. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and always greeted us with a smile. Top-Notch Amenities The gym at the hotel was top-notch, offering a variety of equipment for a great workout. The swimming pool and its facilities were equally impressive, providing a perfect spot to relax and unwind. I can confidently say that the amenities here are as good as any I've ever seen. A Family-Friendly Experience One of the highlights for us was discovering the amazing kids' area. It's a fantastic space that I know our kids will love when we bring them along next time. This hotel truly caters to families, making it a perfect getaway for everyone. Delicious Food and Drinks I can't forget to mention the food at the bar. The steak I had was the best I've ever tasted, and the breakfast was top-class, offering a delicious start to the day. The dining experience here is simply unbeatable. Perfect Location Located close to the Shannon River and Loch, the hotel is ideally situated for exploring the local area. We enjoyed brilliant boat experiences and visited some fantastic nearby bars. The location adds even more value to an already incredible stay.

The hotel is very grand & comfortable with excellent facilities. The bedroom was spacious, clean & tidy and quiet too so a very restful night's sleep. The staff are all very friendly & could not do enough to help. I was especially impressed when the receptionist called to see if we were OK & still coming to stay. My first encounter with the Shearwater Hotel was in the summer when we had a family meal which was excellent so I had no hesitation staying there. I would thoroughly recommend a visit and I am hoping to return again & enjoy some of the facilities and food.

The welcome from the reception team was excellent and the reception area is spacious and clean I enjoyed the food in the bar. We had a 3 course meal that was full value for money at a set price of €35 per person. The bar staff were friendly and helpful The gym team were welcoming and the pool and changing room facilities were spotlessly clean The bedroom was spotless and bed very comfortable

I didn't like being charged / held a €800 credit card fee for 3 rooms at the start of my stay. I understanding holding my credit card for charges but €800 was excessive The breakfast service was very poor. We waited at the entry but no-one came. We decided to take a table and was later told it was reserved (but no marking) The hotel wanted to charge extra for a flat-white! There was no-one at the hot plate and some of the food was over-cooked and hard. There was no fresh orange juice and poor service for breakfast The rooms although clean need a re-vamp (wardrobe and bathroom door dark) I didn't like the fact check-on was 4 p.m. although we were facilitated with an earlier room

The location was good, just a short straight forward distance once you come off the motorway. The breakfast was good there was a fair bit of choice & it tasted nice. The room was spacious & clean. The bed was comfortable.

I thought the main I had in the bar needed a little more attention. I chose the chicken supreme with mushroom & paprika sauce. However the chicken was over cooked and dry also it was reheated as the outside was piping hot & the inside cool.

The hotel was clean and comfortable the beds was comfortable. Ava at reception was excellent. We were given a tour of the spa gym and swimming pool by other members of staff in there areas. All the staff were friendly and obliging. We traveled with family members from County Tyrone and because Ava and other staff members were so good and helpful and hotel was so welcoming and beautiful and clean we will definitely be back. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant and relaxing.

Its a fab hotel and well located. Food was lovely. Room was a bit too warm otherwise it was fine.

Its expensive for one person for one night. I think Hotels in general need to look at rates for the single/separated individuals as most offers are for either couples or families which is a bit discriminatory. I have never once seen an offer for a single room and based on current situations I would say there's a lot of single people out there for whatever reason. So lets hope the Sheerwater will be the first Hotel to offer this facility.

Delicious breakfast. Great variety and lots of healthy choices. The pool was amazing! And the staff at the pool were so helpful -- we wear glasses, so didn't see all of the pool rules -- the swimming teachers/staff couldn't have been nicer letting us know about needing a bathing cap. Jacintha at the front desk was lovely and very helpful.

It was pretty hot in the rooms - I'm not sure why the heat was on when we arrived. Luckily, the windows were operable, so we were able to get some air circulating. The gps directions to the hotel brought us to a different location first -- not sure why but we finally made it!!

Comfortable spacious foyer to sit in . Comfortable room and bed and very clean. Excellent food in bar. Chef agrreed to doing a half portion of roast lamb for my mother and myself at a very reasonable rate and it was superb. Staff very nice and helpful, esp in the bar and serving the food. Hotel close to shops. Few mins walk.

No newspapers in hotel. I had to go out and buy one. Foyer , alrhough lovely, could have been a bit warmer.
