The room was well appointed, although not very big, the bed was comfortable. We had a very good meal on the evening, my husbands steak was so good he brought some from their supplier. The service on the evening was excellent, we were welcomed on arrival and shown to our room which was outside. The waitress who served us that evening was very attentive.

Breakfast next morning was good, but service was not up to the standard of the night before. The tables nearby still had not been cleared, although the people having breakfast had long gone. This made the place look untidy and I don’t think that would have happened the night before.

The staff were all lovely, and I had food, which seems to be popular for locals as it was busy with people eating. The food was excellent, and so was the pint. I honestly couldn't comment on the facilities much, as I literally went to bed, as I'd just had a spa day so didn't need the shower etc. The bed was clean and very comfy. Going by the gestapo, they get a lot of repeat guests, which doesn't surprise me. The kettle and sachets were good. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I was back in the area.

This has nothing to do with the accommodation...I drove at night, and it was foggy and a light drizzle....I'll tell you now....there are very few/no lights on most of the roads i took to get here and nav took me literally the route a ferret would take...I have good eyes, and prefer night driving...but if you struggle driving at night and the weather's crap...I would be aware of that. Stay here though, as it's lovely.

The parking was ideal and we managed to park right outside our room. The room was a great size with a comfy bed, good size tv and a whirpool bath which was a nice surprise. The food in the restaurant was superb and we really enjoyed our fish and chips in the evening as well as a full english breakfast before setting off again the next day. The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. The bar/restaurant area was really nice with a cosy feel and a range of seating styles to suit all (booths, tables and bar stools). As it turned out it was actually the high point of our holiday as the final destination was very disappointing! We would not hesitate to go back and will be recommending it to others travelling south as it was in a great location for a stopover.

Our only gripes were the road noise outside which was a little more than expected, the newly refurbished room was already looking a bit worn in some areas, there was a dog biscuit under our bed and we don't own a dog, and the lack of headboard meant I whacked my head on the wooden bed frame a couple of times when I sat down to watch the tv.

Dinner and location. Both of us plus our two local guests enjoyed our meals. A bath in the original room - important because we are both cyclists.

Original room didn't have a working radiator, we were moved so that was OK. Breakfast had things loaded on top of pre-buttered toast so the toast went soggy (toast is normally served in a rack for a reason and some people don't like butter or margarine on toast), also extra charge for extra toast which we didn't need but seriously how much does an extra piece of bread cost? Both turned a 10/10 breakfast into an 8/10.

Room stayed in on forst night was very good. Pub itself very nicely decorated and planned. Good evening meal choices and pleasant food . Breakfast fine too . Vety pleasant hard working staff

Shower space and toilet not brilliant in room which we had 2nd night.(Last minute decision to opt for 2nd night so little choice of room). The room is Ok but bathroom really not up to spec. Refurb urgently needed and price did not reflect that. Didn't want to use shower as not up to standard at all, so small , no non slip mat either, just old and unpleasant. The wash basin too small with taps not functioning well. Would not stay in this room again without drstic updating.

This is now our first choice stop over breaking our journey from East Sussex to Scotland, we have stayed here 8 times now and every stay has been to the same high standard, friendly helpful staff make you welcome, rooms are clean and very comfortable, bar is lovely and relaxing , restaurant has a good and very well prepared selection of dishes, breakfast is excellent, as someone with Coeliac Disease the gluten free options and the staff understanding of this is very reassuring and all makes for a very pleasant stay.

I asked at booking time if the restaurant could provide a fillet steak for my wife as it was not on the evening menu which they did and was excellent, however the dirty chips tasted burnt. The bar staff were excellent, friendly and helpful during our afternoon drinks and help us changed our table for the evening. The waitress who delivered our food and cleared the table was very good and attentive.

Our room (Orchard) was clean but the bathroom needs attention, the worktop around the basin needs replacing and the overflow in the bath was hanging off. Waiter wore dirty trainers and didn't explain menu very well.

The opportunity to stay somewhere that wasnt the standard cookie cutter budget hotel was grasped, the location suited the journey that I was on, good car parking ( plenty of room) was warmly welcomed, the room was clean & tidy, looked like the bathroom had recently been refurbished, friendly bar staff, good evening meal selection with local produce giving it that extra flavour - lashings of hot water for a shower & well above average breakfast ( especially if you are a meat eater)

Nothing- would absolutely stay there again if the opportunity arose to be in the neighbourhood

Everything! The ‘room’ itself was gorgeous and very modern, the restaurant was huge, but intimate at the same time, food was amazing, but the icing on the cake was the staff, they are so accommodating and friendly. I had a personal issue (nothing to do with the accommodation, food or staff) during our stay, I mentioned to the lady (manager?) and she was utterly lovely and understanding and sorted my issue out straight away! literally can’t fault our stay, we come to Nantwich about 4 times a year so we will be back! Thankyou so much
