Lovely friendly staff who all acknowledged us. Asked for a quiet room which we got on top floor. Fabulous dinner which we got in the rate and could spend £50 each . Breakfast had a great choice. Lovely situation right by the river.

Chased down the river tay by a member of staff, whilst we were enjoying a walk after our afternoon tea. to be told I had to pay for my afternoon tea, I explained I had already paid a holding deposit at reception and was not prepared to pay any more up front. Was then asked for my room number, as if I was lying. Very irritating incident indeed. Pool is not heated as advertised - was absolutely freezing cold. Some evening entertainment would have been nice.

The Athol suite was amazing the views were amazing it was just perfect ticked all the boxes Breakfast was very good lots of choice Dinner on the first night we had some problems with our starters being over cooked this was resolved our second night there was again problems with the starters being late and over cooked again this was resolved we cancelled the rest of our dinner and ate from the bar menu in the bar the fish and chips were brilliant and the venison burger was amazing Big thank you to Archie who was very helpful

Great breakfast, dinner was okay. The room was very comfortable with a great view over the river but needed a little attention. Bed legs needed re painted and the shower room door damaged at the bottom. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

The lighting in the dinning room needed more mood lighting. Maybe some safe lighting on the tables. It was lacking atmosphere.. The hand rail in the lift need painted. The bed was just okay. I love dogs but I am allergic to them in small spaces. So I was okay with them in the lounge but would prefer not to see them in there. I was going to have a swim but it was way too warm for me.

You wouldn’t really know it was a chain hotel main building still has character of original 19th century building add ons enhance rather than detract . Upgraded room v comfortable but obviously a chain designed room - not a criticism but there are some of the original rooms which now suites - great sleep very quiet. Good bar area and decent range of whisky for tourists from afar. Food fine rather than Michelin starred - there is a great s Restaurant at Kilicrankie a few miles north of u want that. Has some activities on doorstep fishing shooting off road driving course all high quality.

Not much - if you had electric car may be pushed to get onto a charging point. Spaces a bit tight if you have 4x4.

Very good breakfast choices. Room was clean and cosy, bathroom bright and modern looking though extremely hot water in the shower needs caution. Restaurant meal was good, starters of scallops and pork cheeks very tasty. Venison was a little tough but cooked pink which I prefer, a sharper knife would have solved that perhaps? Good selection of drinks at prices reflecting the hotel standard. Piano player in the bar was lovely both evenings and much appreciated. Easy accès to the most stunning grounds from the front door and short drive to The Hermitage and Pitlochry.

No way to control room temperature which we found very hot on our first night but fine on the second night. I found the bed was too firm and asked for a mattress topper to be added for second night, they didn't have a topper but added extra padding which definitely helped with the firmness. No feather pillows available which made sleeping less comfortable for me.

Breakfast was excellent, just what I would expect. Staff were plentiful and very friendly. I had to ask where the decaf tea bags where and the staff member advised in a friendly manner. The coffee machine did not offer an option for hot milk which I would have preferred because the coffee from this machine was a bit too strong for me.

I didn’t like being woken at 8am by someone hoovering right outside our room door, I opened the door to advise this person that she had woken us up, she responded by saying that she has a job to do, I advised her I would be making a complaint, her response should have been to apologise and state she would continue later, she did stop however, but a very unpleasant episode. I hope this is not the normal time for housekeeping to start hoovering, when staying away from home we like to sleep later as I impatient most people do, of course we could not get back to sleep. I also need to point out that we are 2 people travelling but there is only one chair in our room (022), we wouldn’t return if we were to be located on the ground floor.

My wife and I had a truly wonderful three-night stay at Dunkeld House Hotel for our wedding anniversary. From the start, we were warmly welcomed by the professional receptionist, who kindly assisted us in switching to a top-floor room with a beautiful river view. Although the initial ground-floor room was nice enough, my wife prefers higher levels, and we were pleased with the change. Our room was clean, well-equipped, and featured a lovely selection of handmade toiletries. The only suggestion would be to add a mini-fridge to keep drinks cold. The hotel itself feels freshly refurbished, seamlessly blending modern comforts with a rich historical Scottish experience. The included continental breakfast was impressive, with a great selection and the option to order from the menu. We also enjoyed lunches and dinners at the bar. A highlight of our stay was the talented pianist who played in the evenings, creating a delightful and sophisticated atmosphere that added a special touch to our experience. A special mention goes to Gareth, the bar manager, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. His exceptional professionalism and attentiveness made a significant impact on our stay, and his warm hospitality truly enhanced our experience. With beautiful weather, we had the chance to take a stunning walk by the river and enjoy the hotel’s beautifully kept grounds. We also had a blast with the clay pigeon shooting and quad biking experiences. The hotel also offers great spa facilities, including a gym, swimming pool, sauna, and steam room. Overall, we had an amazing time and highly recommend Dunkeld House Hotel to everyone!

Beautiful setting, good walks and plenty to do in neighborhood.Plenty of areas in hotel to relax and enjoy the view.Warm and comfortable.

Difficulty in booking our preferred times for meals.Buffet service at breakfast not very relaxing.Evening meal service on our first night was really poor-1hour 15mins before meals arrived and with missing item.. However on our second evening service was faultless. .We had a huge cobweb in our room throughout our stay,amazed it was not spotted and removed.Rather limited storage for clothes if staying for more than a couple of nights

Classic double was very comfortable and nicely decorated. DBB basis and the food was delicious! Great selection for dinner, and fabulous selection for breakfast. Gareth who worked in the bar was really professional and friendly and even though the hotel was busy, he remembered exactly what drinks we'd ordered on our first evening - we didn't even have to ask on the second evening. We didn't catch the names of other team members but they were all very attentive and eager to please. I had mentioned we were celebrating my birthday at the reservation stage and a plate with chocolate brownies and Happy Birthday was in our room on arrival. Welcome Drams or sherry shots were offered on check in. Several different public areas for guests to eat, drink and relax. Lovely terrace available to have drinks, overlooking the river.

Some of the decor was slightly worn and tired. Attention to detail in the bedroom was very good in general but there was dust in quite obvious places and the wardrobe door needed a firm push to shut properly. We needed to request a fan for the room as it was overly warm even without heating.
