First off we were welcomed very warmly by the hosts, when we went up to the room it was spotlessly clean and really nice decor, the entire b&b had wonderful decor throughout, including lovely paintings. It was a very quiet room, good shower, fridge and bed was very comfortable, we both slept soundly. Breakfast in the morning had a great menu, and both of our breakfasts were delicious and perfectly cooked, served with a smile! Had lovely conversations with the hosts and felt we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay on our first weekend away together.

We had a lovely relaxing stay in Beer and our hosts nette & col made us feel very welcome and helped us with bus timetables and restaurant bookings too. We had a lovely clean room and very comfortable bed in nice quiet surroundings. Our breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, such as full English, fresh fruit with yogurt and Avacaado with toast or halloumi etc.. also tea, fresh coffee & juice. Everything in Beer is handy, gift and ice-cream shops and the beach front is only a few minutes walk. The coastal paths are very easy to access too. The bus stop is opposite for Seaton, Lyme Regis and Axminster etc.. In Beer there are lots of pubs and restaurants, I would recommend Gina's, an Italian/Thai restaurant which was very reasonable and absolutely delicious. We would definitely stay at Durham house again.

We had a very warm welcome from Nette and Col, the whole place is spotless, fresh and clean. The room has a mini fridge with water and milk, and tea making facilities. Everything is provided, lovely soft towels, cosy room, comfy bed with extra pillows and easy on the eye decor. The breakfast was superb, perfectly cooked and lovey eggs and local bacon. Plenty of choice for vegetarians, vegans and G.F. Nette and Col are perfect hosts and very adaptable. We will visit again, thank you, it’s a perfect place to stay for exploring the area, and very relaxing. Excellent.

There wasn’t anything to dislike! the whole place is exactly what you would hope a B&B to be, thank you.

We needed to stay somewhere near Charmouth to visit relatives there. We tried Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth and other places but found nothing to our budget or with the reviews we expected from such prices. Durham House in Beer was perfectly situated and a great stay. We were so lucky to get a room on the day we required it. Perhaps there had been a cancellation? We would recommend this property whole-heartedly. Nette is a very friendly and helpful host (as we arrived later than we expected), nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast as amazing. Parking is available in the central carpark, very close to the property and worked well. We loved the town too.

Nette and Colin were lovely and friendly hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and kept making sure we had everything we needed. There was a good selection for breakfast and said we could mix up the options if we wished. Fabulous assortment of animal milk jugs, etc came out each morning. Our room was clean and bright, had a sofa bed which made the room more comfortable and a good size ensuite. The house it's self, in the perfect location, has a charm, with a high standard of decor topped off with locals art work. I highly recommend Durham House Hotel and would stay there again when we next visit.

It was a beautiful characterful hotel in a lovely little fishing village. The beds are comfy, the bathroom comes with complimentary toiletries and they freshly cook you a tasty bacon and egg roll or assorted hot breakfasts in the morning with all the trimmings. The local restaurant was buzzing with people and really very good indeed.

Nothing to dislike. Visitors should know the village parking is a few hundred yards away from the hotel but it isn't a bother unless you've got lots of bags.

Wonderful choice of breakfast options -- it would have been possible to eat a completely different (and always delicious) breakfast every day of the week. Our host was there with a broad smile, notebook at the ready, every morning, and the breakfast arrived promptly, on hot plates, appetising and wonderful. The location on Fore Street, was perfect -- a few minutes walk to Beer Beach, close to pubs and restaurants, directly opposite the bus-stop, yet quiet and peaceful. No traffic noise, just sea birds, and we had a lovely view over the pretty village and down to the bay.

Didn't want to leave. We would happily have moved in and stayed there permanently. Nette and Col made us so welcome, and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. It was like staying with friends.

Excellent breakfast. We both tried the "Beer" traditional English breakfast of sausage egg bacon mushroom and baked beans. All freshly cooked and served piping hot. Room was clean and ready when we arrived. Hotel right in the centre of Beer. Nice view over the town from our window. Hosts very friendly , chatty and willing to help residents.

Room was a little cramped with the two of us. Shower was also very "compact". Luckily we didnt have to unpack much as we were only here for two days. No parking spaces availability at the hotel , which means leaving the car in one of the expensive council run ones, but we knew this prior to arrival.

The hospitality, friendliness and general good banter was excellent. The facilities was perfect, breakfast was good. The location is ideal for touring East Devon and Dorset. The tips we received by email prior to our arrival, set up the week. Which restaurants to book, car parking permits, and general advice on facilities in the town. We had a tremendous week. It was almost the perfect week. We chilled, met up with family in both Devon and Doreset and had a great holiday.

Fabulous location, Beer is very charming. Durham House is the perfect hotel to enjoy the village. The hotel is beautifully decorated with many period features that make it a super special place to stay. The breakfast is top class and hosts are very welcoming and go the extra mile to make sure you have a great stay. 100% recommended and will definitely be going back.
