This overnight was a quick stop for us as we got in after dark and left early the next morning. Our accommodation was an apartment across the street from the restaurant. It was very comfortable. The people were very friendly at check in and when we had any questions. The apartment was a nice, large space, a little dated but comfortable. Parking was right next to the building in the square. The bathroom was well lighted and had plenty of storage area for our personal products. There was a washing machine in the unit, but no electric dryer. They did provide a drying rack and had space heaters. Overall, it was a great value and stay!

The food was fabulous, if a little pricy. We enjoyed dinner in the first-floor restaurant so much that we returned the following day for lunch (this time in the bar). Our room (No 4) was compact - with a double bed, hangers on a rail, window sill with tea tray, and a small shelf for a kettle. The shower room had a tiny cloakroom wash-hand basin - too small to fit the kettle under the tap. However, this is first and foremost a thriving and popular village pub … with a few rooms. We liked the village and the food, and the room was really good value for money (and ideal for an overnight stay).

Cramped room - although great value for money.

It was wonderful to stay here! We arrived later than we first expected and after contacting the hotel it was no problem. When we arrived we were assisted very quickly and brought to our wonderful cozy apartment. It had everything we needed and the atmosphere was great. The kitchen was about to close but cook was willing to stay longer so that we could still enjoy a very tasty warm meal in the evening. We would definitely recommend the hotel to others and we would love to come back some time! Many thanks to the lovely personnel!

The hotel is in a lovely location - quaint little coastal village. The hotel is very nice and the staff were friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant, good menu and beautifully cooked food. As befits its location, the hotel menu offers a great selection of seafood. We had breakfast the following morning, good selection to choose from to suit all tastes. Our breakfast was lovely, and the lady [Cath] who cooked it was very pleasant and attentive to all our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Nothing.

We stayed 2 nights B&B with our dog. We booked the family room which was two rooms with a connecting door. This worked well for us giving a bit more space for us and the dog. The room was spotlessly clean and cosy on arrival, with a lovely sea view. Breakfast was worth the additional cost, consisting of serve yourself cereals plus freshly cooked breakfast items to order. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings making the most of the delicious locally caught seafood dishes.

There was not much storage space for unpacking clothes, not an issue for a 1 or 2 night stay tho.

Our family stayed in the beautiful house at the Anchor Hotel. We had such a warm and friendly welcome from Jae and the house was just perfect. We loved the wee village with its stunning views and great walks. Only snag was finding a meal on a Monday as lots of places closed but in the next town was a fantastic Asian takeaway which I highly recommend. The wee local store across the street also has everything you need. The house was so warm when we arrived and had everything we needed. A home away from home 💕. I definitely give this experience an A+++++++.

The location was phenomenal: The harbour was literally outside the door, with pub opposite and a general store 50m away. The facilities had everything you could want to cater for yourself and the furniture was comfortable: like home from home. The welcome from the owner was extremely friendly and he talked through everything at the start. A wonderful place to stay!

I'm only sorry that I wasn't there from Wed-Sun as that's when the pub served food. Otherwise it was all good.

Great stay as always. We stay here when visiting family in the village. Stayed in the family room. Which is great as there are 2 single beds which is much better than most hotels where you get a sofa bed. My son (age 8) thinks this is the best hotel in the UK and both my kids get so excited when they know we are stopping here. Food in restaurant is lovely and the breakfast is so worth it. They charge £10 for and adult and £5 for a childs breakfast which is very reasonable.

The location was lovely. The staff were efficient and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom bright and cheerful. Smoked haddock for brealfast was a real treat. Very convivial atmosphere.

I appreciate that the shower room had to be small but there was no room to put anything - a couple of hooks and a small shelf would have helped. Space for clothes in the bedroom was limited to 2 coathangers. The interior walls were very thin - we heard more from the neighbouring room than the occupants might have wished. The decaf coffee at breakfast was tasteless. It was a shame to smother the scallops in a creamy sauce and the quantity of scallops and lobster in the mains that we chose was disappointing bearing in mind the price.

a lovely spacious 2 bedroom apartment very close to the harbour. I was able to park right outside even at the weekend. it was very homely feeling and well equipped with bedding, towels, body wash, soap and cleaning products. the tea and coffee sachets were an added bonus. great to come and go as we pleased. we ate at the hotel every day, the food was excellent and the staff were so friendly and accommodating.

the only thing that could have enhanced this trip would have been a private outside space as I travelled with my dog. I would not let this put me off returning to stay here again though as there are so many walks just outside the door.
