The manager greeted us and was very helpful. She recommended we visit the penguins on the shoreline. The whole place was modern and well-maintained. The unit had comfortable beds and a sofa. The balcony had a sea view. The room had an air-conditioner. Very good bathroom with the option of a spa bath and walk-in shower. The kitchen had a microwave and was well-equipped. It was very quiet- no traffic noise!

If you have mobility issues you are probably best to ask for a downstairs unit.

The studio was clean and well equipped. The bathroom was spacious and there was plenty of hot water. The wifi was good as was the air conditioning. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was a good central location and there was onsite parking. We chose the economical internal studio as we were only staying one night; the sea front apartments with balconies looked lovely and we would choose one of these next time.

The internal studio was a little claustrophobic, with the only windows being above the bed. There were no options for recycling rubbish and the toiletries could have been presented in a more sustainable way.

Size and room configuration and cleanliness and warmth

Parking ' very clear signage that there was one park per room and we had two cats on second night so knew we would have to park one on the road - however there were trucks and car trailers taking up most parks second night so we all had to park on the road - seems unfair. My husband has traveled with cars on trailers before and he know that he likely has to park o the road. The great and easy parking at Bay Viaduct is one of the reasons I always book Bay Viaduct as have stayed there multiple times. Also when we went for swim meet in the morning I turned down heat pump to low as knew girls would need to be warm when we got back but when we returned at lunch it was off and windows open and we were cold

The room had a view of the sea and even though the motel was on the main road there was no traffic noise in the room. The bed was so comfortable too. Will certainly be staying there again.

The only thing we would have appreciated is stronger reading lamps by the bed, but there is a main light switch at the bed so it wasn't really a problem

We liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The whole property was well designed and well cared for. The room was very clean and well-equipped. There was a wide view of the bay from our 1st-floor room and balcony. The large corner bath was easy to use because it had a seat.

Everything was lovely - we'd go back to this motel.

well appointed. everything neat and clean. Friendly and helpful owner. Had everything we needed. Nice outlook with ‘wide-sky’ outlook. Well positioned for morning sun. Close to Caroline Bay’s attractive walks. Good restaurants close by. Good access to main highway.

This visit we chose a ground floor unit as on previous occasions we had a third floor unit with the better view, but if you are older with heavy bags there is no lift. We liked the ground floor unit and could park right beside the unit. If you have an electric car we noticed charging facility was available.

My son and me originally from Shanghai, living Auckland 4years. this is school holidays travel. Very spacious balcony. The facilities are well maintained. Can do some simple cooking. The tableware is complete. The fragrance of the bath products is very comfortable. The jacuzzi is very comfortable. The room is very spacious and comfortable. The staff is very nice. It is 950 meters walk from Timaru - Little blue penguins and 4 minutes by car. We saw a family of penguins both nights.

The perfect place to stay for our family of 4 including two older teenagers Absolutely faultless. Central location. Opposite Caroline Bay .Spacious, impeccably clean rooms with well equipped kitchens. Receptionist was organised, informative, helpful, warm, welcoming and very friendly. Housekeeping is top notch. Nothing, but if you have difficulty with stairs please tell at time of booking. We were on the 3 rd floor which suited us well.

Great unit that was modern and clean with a bit of outside space as well. We ended up having to isolate there for a few days due to covid which wasn't the plan when we booked. Staff were polite but left us to our own devices which was appreciated. Really enjoyed having some space to ourselves

Our towels weren’t serviced / replaced when we out sign on door saying to change towels . It could have been the dates we stayed around new year
