Amenities, view, very centric location, friendly staff, variety of breakfast for European standards, very nice baths with a view.

When using the baths you need to cover your tattoos with stickers which are provided by the staff, however when using the baths as a EU looking person I felt extremely unwelcome. Baths are separated by gender, for both my boyfriend and myself people were rudely staring at us as if we did not belong there, very unfriendly environment. I could not feel comfortable there and I used them for a while only one day because of the environment. I felt very discriminated.

The first thing I realised when I entered the hotel was the smell, it was so nice and calming. The room was amazing. It was spacious, had a huge bed and even a window seating area. The view was decent from higher floor too. On the top floor, there was even a spa area, which was free for all guests! It has a sauna, an indoor and an outdoor bath. There were also vending machines and laundry machines on that floor. Of course, the room also had a toilet and bath. Bus and tram stops are just a few minutes away. The price was very affordable too, especially compared to other big cities.

The room was nice and a good size. Good supply of amenities. The staff spoke very little english and could not assist us in any way. They could not book us a taxi to the station when we had to leave and did not try and help us at all. There is a tram close by which you walk too. Very central location and close to tram to go anywhere. The private onsen on the roof is nice and great supplies provided.

Staff could have been more helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Candeo. Comfortable, spacious and clean hotel. Location is great for getting around Hiroshima. It's close to key areas (Peace Museum, A-Dome Building and boat that takes you to Miyajima Island), as well as being close to many good cafes and restaurants. Really nice and affordable hotel!

It's not too close to Hiroshima station, but that's the tradeoff of being close to the key areas in Hiroshima.

The hotel is in a great location, easy walking distance to bars and good restaurants, Hiroshima Castle, Peace park, are all walkable. Room was spacious, and the bathroom good. Beds were comfortable. PJs a little small for westerns. Breakfast is a huge selection.

Silly arrangement to keep having to go up to the 13th floor, and then down to the rooms. Like a lot of buffet breakfasts some dishes are finished quickly and not always replaced. There are only 4 washing machines, and other guests are not considerate of others. Often putting washing in and then leaving it in the machine all night.

We loved our stay at Candeo - Hiroshima. Easy to get to from the station by tram, about 7 minutes. Not far to walk to the Peace Park. Various shops and restaurants close by. Including great supermarket just a block down. Hotel was squeaky clean. Staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was ample and loads of variety. The shining light was the onsen. Indoor and outdoor. Fantastic way to relax after a day of sightseeing. Just magical.

The rooms were on the smaller side. Found the glasses kept under a glass lifting cabinet reduced surface space and awkward to get to. Not enough room for a cot so had to sleep with our squirmy toddler. Lifts a bit slow. But these are all first world problems. The onsen out shines any of these issues and I would book again in a heartbeat.

Hotel was in a good location, fairly handy within walking distance to lots of shop etc. room was fine, quite small though usual for Japan. Linen and towels were clean and pillows were comfy.

I booked 3 rooms. 2 for 2 couples and 1 for a single elderly man. The hotel reception staff gave the wrong key to the other couple, who ended up in the small room meant for the elderly man. When they asked to be moved to a larger room they were charged for it. I tried to speak to the reception about this and was told basically ‘that’s what I booked’. I would have expected common sense should have prevailed.

Great location, made it very easy to travel around the city with most places within walking distance. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The views from the breakfast room and the onsen/spa were fantastic.

The rooms were a little on the small side but were comfortable. Breakfast could get repetitive quickly too. They only had two lifts and you couldn't use the stairs so sometimes you waited a very long time for a lift which could be frustrating.

The Candeo Hotel is situated very close to central sights like the Peace Park and Hiroshima Castle (each 15 minutes walking distance, approx. 1 km), and Hiroshima Station (10 to 15 minutes by streetcar/bus). There are several restaurants in the vicinity (e.g. an italian restaurant on ground floor). A short 5 minutes walk away, there is the Hondori Market with a lot of restaurants and shops. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They assisted us to send our luggage to Kyoto and all worked perfectly. The breakfast had a great variety with western as well as Japanese breakfast options, all very suited to vegetarians and worth the price. Our hotel room was located in the upper levels. The room matched the descriptions and pictures advertised. The big windows allowed for unobstructed views of Hatchobori. Even though the room was facing a big street the room was super quiet. The room was quite big, however the bed takes up the most space, so we had to arrange our luggage accordingly. The bed is super spacious, which we loved and why we decided for this room type. The bed is not as hard as many other beds, so we slept quite well. There is no option to open the window but there is a spot of ventilation to the outside. The airconditioning worked well and did not distrub our sleep. The bathroom was very small and felt a little bit claustrophobic as shower/bathtub, washbasin and toilet are all in one small room. However, there is the oportunity to use the rooftop onsen that allows for nice night time views of the city while soaking in hot water.

Unfortunately, the room was very dusty and we would have appreciated a bit more cleanliness in general. The hairdryer was not up to modern standards and did not produce enough power to dry long hair in an acceptable time frame.

The hotel was super clean and comfortable. The room was large with a large bed. I also enjoyed the spa on top, with also an open-air bath on the 14th floor, a perfect way to end the day! The location of the hotel was great! It's walking distance from the Peace Memorial Museum and right next to the shopping area of Hondori, while also being really close to the central train station, only a short ride on the the tram. I cannot recommend the place enough! It's a very comforatble stay in the middle of Hiroshima.
