The mill is situated off a country road in a quiet area surrounded by fields and farmland. A very quiet space. The room was lovely. A comfortable bed, great pillows, tea/coffee facilities, a fan for when you're hot and a plug in radiator for when you're cold. The room had a plumbed radiator as well. The bathroom was en suite with a large sink, good size mirror and a plumbed shower, water was piping hot! Breakfast was taken inside the mill itself. Paul, our host, was friendly and polite with a good sense of humour. He cooks the breakfast in the ground floor kitchen and brings it up to the 2nd floor dining area. Two choices of breakfast, continental with 2 warm croissants and a selection of preserves. A range of cereal and yoghurt and bread for toast. Or a cooked English, 2 bacon rashers, sausage ,egg, cooked tomato, large flat mushroom and beans served in a ramekin. Tea/coffee by the pot with decaff options. Simple fayre cooked well. Plenty of parking space and wifi included in your stay. Don't expect the Ritz! Its a great place to stay with everything you need. Its quant and quirky. Paul is very accommodating. 200ft away is the Rani Indian restaurant who also do excellent food and have a beer garden for those who would like a drink without necessarily ordering food. We cant wait to go back again.

That we couldn't stay longer!

Large car park. Quiet Location. The breakfasts were very good, the room number six although small was clean and well presented.

The reception door to the mill is not manned - there is a notice requiring you to telephone your arrival. The handrail fixing at the top of the stairs leading to the first floor dining room in the mill was broken off, although substantial and relatively strong held by fixings below. There was only one chair in the room number six, for two people. There were no clothes hooks in the shower room for a dressing gown or clothing, there was nowhere in the shower cubicle for shampoo, shower gel or sponge, and no place to hang large wet bath towels.

We booked Yaxham mill for the weekend as it was less than a 10 minute drive to the polar express We liked the look of the property over other properties and decided to book this property as it had really good reviews! It was a perfect location, with countryside views. The property was clean, well presented and generously stocked with tea and coffee. We met Paul when we arrived at the mill for our breakfast. He was really friendly with a great sense of humour! He offered us tea and coffee, and told us we could help ourselves to orange juice/ apple juice and cereals and yoghurts. I thought this was very generous, considering we opted for the cooked breakfast. We had a delicious full English in the mill. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and could not fault it. It was a really nice atmosphere in the mill. We highly recommend this property and will be returning here next time we visit Norfolk.

We've stayed here three times now. Paul is a wonderful host, a lovely genuine guy with a good sense of humour and a quick wit. For where you are and the stunning views, it is exceptional value for money. Even more so when you consider the full range of breakfast provided in the price of your stay. Nothing comes close to what Paul provides as a B&B. Communication is excellent to from the time of booking to arrival. Yaxham Mill has it all; a beautiful location, very peaceful, off road parking, comfortable beds, pleasant rooms, lovely and varied breakfast range, and a thoroughly nice host.

There is nothing!

We absolutely loved having the opportunity to stay in an old mill. Parking was easy (which is important for us) and although the owner wasn't on site to meet us we managed to check in without any problems. Our bedroom was lovely, full marks to the owner for using pictures of the area on the walls, we really appreciate those design decisions. The bathroom was lovely and big, the shower was good and there was plenty of hot water. It was a really hot day so we appreciated having a fan in the room, that certainly got used. The choice at breakfast was good, I was able to go off menu and have a vegetarian option. The ingredients were high quality and everything was nicely presented. We'd definitely stay again if we're travelling that way. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I would have appreciated a hook in the shower room - I ended up putting my dressing gown on the floor, Just a stupid thing but having praised the decor choices in the bedroom I was really disappointed with the first floor of the old mill which acts as the breakfast room. The plastic flooring and jarringly modern fireplace were just wrong in there. It was such a shame because I was excited when I learnt breakfast was served in the old mill.

Well maintained, nicely decorated room with tea/coffee. Water and even biscuits. The room was spotless and had everything you needed for a night away. Plenty of parking. Hosts really lovely with a fab breakfast in the windmill which was quirky.

Not so keen on the location of the room, this was solely due to it being on the ground floor so with the window open you had all the chatter from people going to and from the restaurant next door. The French doors opened out into the smoking area, so couldn’t have these open as due to lack of privacy and obviously the smoke

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hosts were friendly. This is an ideal location for those seeking a quiet, rural location. The breakfast was included in the price, and was nice and freshly cooked.

I stayed 3 nights, and during that time there was no housekeeping, so the bed was not made, bins not emptied, tea tray not replenished, etc. The interior of the property is pleasant but the garden/patio area is rather unkempt.

Lovely stay in rural Norfolk. The room was large and bed comfy. Delicious and hot Full English in the old mill itself. Amazing building and greeted by Paul, the head chef and 'entertainment' manager. Nice to be served by a happy face who made you feel like a valued customer. Just a heads up, we didn't eat at the adjoining Indian Restaurant, which is a separate business. But if you enjoy Indian Cuisine, by the number of cars in the car park it must be excellent. If you're not a fan, then the town of Dereham is only just over a mile away.

Nothing, we had a great stay.

Lovely B&B. Cosy but comfortable room. Friendly, accommodating staff.

Just a few little niggles, that could easily be resolved if the owner were to spend a night in each room to test them out. Like the bathroom door loudly banging back against the wall when you opened it (could easily be resolved with a rubber stopper), and the sink plug that kept getting stuck. These are small things though and didn't impact on our overall very positive experience.

Paul was a very welcoming and lovely host. The breakfast at Yaxham Mill was excellent. There were cereals and fruit juice for you to choose from on the buffet and the cooked breakfast was done to perfection. I can also recommend the Indian restaurant right next door, Rani's. Food and service were great :)

I don't have anything negative to say really about Yaxham Mill. The value for money was really good. If I had to say something, I would (as a female) have liked somewhere in the shower to put my toiletries. It's difficult to juggle a bar of soap, sponge, flannel and where do you put them when you're washing your hair!?!? It's a minor thing, but would have made a difference to me :)
