Very comfortable bed/bedding, very warm, after an initial glitch with heating on our arrival, decent size room, loads of hot water, continental breakfast served at 07.30, excellent pub food in the bar/restaurant (shout out for the fish and chips), nice pubby atmosphere in the bar, good beers on tap, very cheerful and welcoming staff. Dog friendly.
Hmm, the only reason it wasn't tops was the lighting on at night in our room and outside - inside the room was a green 'exit' light permanently on, and outside some lighting outside the door (windows either side). We were in an outside small block of 4 rooms. The curtains though dark were not really up to keeping the light out, and obviously not much we could do about the light inside (we did tape some card over it the 2nd night). I didn't complain, as I guess it's a 'health'n'safety' thing but quite annoying nonetheless. Should have had a sleep mask!!

The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. It was home from home. Would go back again without a doubt.
Initially we didn't know how the heating worked and the room was cold when we arrived. I went to speak to reception and after speaking to a lady we never saw again who told us the heating was fine, we were given another room by a helpful young man who showed us how to operate it then all was well.

When booking there were only first floor rooms available (I find stairs difficult) however just before our trip they changed us to a ground floor annexe which was brilliant. Extremely comfy bed and lovely shower room (with rainfall and hand-held). We don't have breakfast, the dinner menu offered a good and varied choice and we ate there all three evenings. The bar/eating area was very welcoming with great staff and very friendly locals.
Not to do with the hotel (who tried to help with contacts /numbers) but we had hoped to get a taxi one night and go to Reepham however out of 7 companies we tried, 1 was on holiday, 3 didn't answer, 1 couldn't give a price, 1 asked us to ring back and the only one to quote was £70+ for a return trip of 8miles each way !! (we had a nice meal at the hotel instead). So an opportunity for a good taxi service around here ;o)

We liked the look of the hotel from the start. Our rooms were in the annexe, converted from old stables I think which are set apart from the main hotel. The rooms were spacious and warm the furnishings were substantial and in keeping with the building - all our beds were very comfortable with fine linen. TV and WiFi as expected. Showers lovely and hot and towels a good size and soft. Heated towel rail very good for warming your jimmies. Hospitality tray had a good selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate and biscuits. Good hairdryer. Breakfast was fabulous - local produce cooked to perfection and a great menu. 2 of us had the full English which was the best we'd had for a long long time - with toast it was a substantial meal which saw us through to mid afternoon - compliments to the chef and the staff for a great experience.
The only thing I can complain about is that the rooms had interconnecting doors which, I believe, compromised the quietness of the rooms. In both rooms we could hear our neighbours talking, fortunately nothing more! However, once the chatting stopped all was quiet throughout the rest of our stay.

Breakfast was great and easy to add on to our booking. Having coffee available in a cafetière was a lovely touch. The location is was excellent, lovely surroundings and easy to go into Dereham. Rooms were spacious and well designed. It was great to be able to enjoy a drink in the bar downstairs. It was perfect for our short stay for a wedding, but we would happily come to stay here again and have more time exploring the surrounding areas!
The only thing we can comment on is the pillows - they were very soft and we prefer firmer pillows and we appreciate that is a personal preference!

Lovely location with ample parking. Clean, spacious room at the top of the building (room 6) with a large, comfortable bed and pillows. Easy to use shower with a "reusable" bottle of shower gel to use. The fan was much appreciated given the unusually hot weather. We had an evening meal in the bar one night. There was a good menu choice including two mains vegetarian options. Efficient service, portion sizes are large and we enjoyed our meals. We opted for the continental breakfast. Decaffeinated tea & coffee and a dairy free milk alternative are available on request.
There wasn't really anything we didn't like. The internet was patchy but there probably isn't anything they can do about this. There was a hook in the bathroom to hang wet towels but another one on the bathroom door would have been useful plus a ledge or shelf for the washbags, toothbrushes etc. There is sufficient room for this. Note, the bar closes at 6pm on Sundays with food served until 5pm.

It was, by far, the most comfortable bed I have slept in. Ever. Fabulous mattress, pillows, linen. Wonderful! The room was lovely too, tea/coffee making facility, good temperature, nice and quiet, en suite bathroom lovely and clean. Evening meal was delicious and the staff lovely and looked out for me as I was travelling alone.
Minor little point. I only had the continental breakfast, but the quality of the bread used for the toast and the quality of the pastries could have been better. Would have preferred much less choice in the continental buffet but of better quality if possible. Honestly such a minor niggle but it would have nudged my opinion to a definitive 10.

re Breakfast...We cannot eat a big breakfast now, so we opted for the continental breakfast. It was excellent, with a great variety of options, fruit, nuts, muesli, as well as the normal cereals. We were pleased to see natural yoghurt and a variety of brown breads. We did notice that other guests had the big breakfast and it was big! The barman was a local lad and lovely and chatty. Lovely big bed and lovely fluffy towels in the bathroom. The location of the hotel was perfect for us, we wanted to go to lots of different places and it was very central for that.
Our room was in the courtyard, we were happy with this as we were away from the main hotel/bar/noise etc. It was very well appointed, with everything you could need. There were just a couple of points that I will raise, that need attention, not anything major...... The toilet seat was loose There was no grab bars in the shower There was no soap dish in the shower There was no rubber non-slip mat in the shower. The shower itself was wonderful!!!!

Our room was light, clean and spacious with a very comfortable super king sized bed. There was a good selection of cooked and continental breakfast, the cooked breakfast being quickly served with perfectly cooked eggs! We had a family funeral in the village and had a buffet organised at the Kings Arms for after the service. It was beautifully presented with a good selection of sandwiches, quiches and cakes, and various dietary needs were well catered for too.
The room tended to get rather warm, but a fan had been provided which did help to mitigate this. The bar had to be closed at 6pm on Sunday evening and so there were no meals or bar snacks available.

Lovely place, great staff. We had dinner in the pub and it was delicious! We were in the area for a wedding and it was exactly what we needed!
We were in one of the top floor rooms and it was lovely. Very angled ceilings though getting in and out the room meant having to duck down, which didn’t bother us for the short amount of time we were there but would have got a bit frustrating if staying for long time!
