The staff were great. I tripped and fell at John o' Groats and broke my glasses, and they sent us to a shop that repaired them and didn't charge for it. The breakfast was great - it was the only place on our trip that offered kippers for breakfast, which I particularly like. The full (egg and bacon etc.) breakfast was also very good. Nice full sized bath. Comfortable bed.

The room layout was a little awkward. The only electrical outlet was not convenient for using my laptop (I sat on a stool, so it was OK, but not ideal). Because of the "en suite" location, the bed was quite close to the wall (both the side and the bottom) which was a bit awkward. There is off-street parking, but the stone gateway is quite narrow, which would be awkward with a large car.

The room was superb, located in a former bank, the room was large with high ceilings. The room was very comfortable with plenty of amenities, a huge freestanding bath, and a completely accessible bathroom for anyone with mobility concerns. There were plenty of breakfast options. Hot good was ordered the night previous then cooked fresh in the morning. Bring your appetite! It is the hosts, Trish and Mark that make the place come alive, they made us feel very much at home and nothing was too much trouble. A dog friendly B&B, they take good care of all their guests, including the 4 legged variety.

No complaints about the accommodation at all, but there are not many dog friendly places to eat in the immediate area. Trish rang the Ynot bar and gril in nearby Thuso (10 min drive away) and booked a table for us. It was so good we went the following night too.

Bank house is a converted old bank. The rooms are generous and high ceilinged. For the first time ever, I have now stayed at a hotel supplying an electric blanket. The hosts are great, warm and friendly. The breakfast omelette was delicious as was the actual decent toast, made from proper thick crusty bread with bits in! 😋 Bank house doesn't do evening food and Google will direct you to Thurso but actually there are two other hotels , one practically next door, open to non residents in their restaurants.

The duvet was a bit inadequate and I had to use one of the bath towels to keep my feet warm.... That was until I discovered the electric blanket. 😃

Trish and Mark are very welcoming hosts. Our room was a lovely suite of bedroom, en-suite bathroom and a small living room. Everything was super comfortable, immaculately clean and warm. The little extra details provided such as tea and coffee and a chocolate biscuit were very much appreciated. Toiletries were provided in the bathroom as well. The cooked breakfast was delicious as well as the cereal options provided. We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Trish and Mark’s Bed & Breakfast to others.

We liked everything

Amazing breakfast. Good room Made very welcome and staff were accommodating. We stayed in a budget room, and were told by one of the hosts that they didn't like renting out our room as it was a budget room and didn't meet their standards. It was just amazing, if that was a budget room, I would have loved to have seen the better rooms. It was very clean and well presented with a comfy bed and far exceeded our expectations.

Not really in central Thurso, but it was only about 5 mins in the car so still very convenient.

We enjoyed three wonderful relaxing days at Bank House, in a spacious, spotlessly clean room with private lounge and bathroom. Our hosts Mark and Trish spoiled us with delicious breakfasts, lots of helpful tips on where to go, great conversations and a wonderful sense of humour. The area offers so much more than one would think at first glance (Castletown Beach, Dunnet Head, Castle of Mey, John o' Groats, Duncansby Stacks ...).

Expectations were clearly exceeded!

The owners of the property were very friendly and welcoming and helped us to get an evening meal at a local hotel which was very helpful after a long day travelling. The breakfast was lovely.

There were a couple of things that could be improved in the room. There was no wardrobe !! but two TV's? The bed was not too comfortable and the fridge made a noise. There was no shelf in the bathroom to put anything. The mirror on the wall was way too high to see into! Having said all of that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, these are just improvements that could be made and would make a difference.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at this lovingly restored heritage property! Trish and Mark were fantastic hosts! They were friendly, gracious and eager to offer suggestions for exploring the area. Breakfast was delicious - both the full Scottish and the made to order omelets! Our room was well-equipped (it even included a small fridge and kettle). The huge claw-foot bathtub was fantastic!

An impressive well kept building. I stayed in the ground floor room which was the former bank and vault room. This is set up with all the facilities for the disabled.(not tested as I am able bodied). The hosts were very friendly and attentive. The building also serves as their home which gives it a nice overall feeling. I had a good quality sleep and awoke feeling refreshed. Breakfast I went for the full Scottish the items were quality and very well cooked. I couldn't quite manage to finish it all. There were other options available. There is free parking at the rear accessed via the side road

Nothing really. The village is a little remote but I expected that. No access directly from the car park unless you are disabled. If it had been raining this would have meant all my stuff getting wet as I walked around the side of the house.

Location was perfect and had free on-street parking immediately outside. Room that we were given was disability-friendly, which we didn't need but we were happy to see was available for someone who might. Very clean and nice. Helpful to have a little fridge in the room as well. Host was lovely and accommodated us after we called to let them know we were running late for check-in time. Breakfast was divine (what a wonderful Eggs Benedict!). We asked to meet their little dogs and got to have a few minutes with them, which was nice.

There isn't anything that was missing. We had a great stay.
