Great historic hotel right in the historic district of Philadelphia. Only stayed two nights, but we had a lovely and large room with comfortable beds, a good sized modern bathroom and view of main street. The room was clean and the staff were all helpful. The location of the hotel is amazing, with restaurants, cafes and bars and city sights all close and accessible.

The breakfast options were okay, not amazing. Could improve by having an automatic coffee machine to dispense cappuccinos and lattes etc. Standard in Europe now. And I was surprised the carpets in lifts, on stairs and hallways were a bit grubby which really made the place feel less special. Maybe a shampoo or replace? The carpets in our room were totally fine and everything else was great, so management could get that fixed easily, and it would improve first impressions by 100%. But none of that took away from it being a v. nice place to stay, with 'old town' Philly literally out the front door.

This is a small (almost boutique) hotel. On the floor on which I stayed there were 9 rooms. This place is a historic building--from 1857 or thereabouts, and it has served as a number of businesses over the years. Recently, it has been renovated and is a first-rate hotel. Although the rooms are not cavernous, they are pleasant--as befits an older building, with very high ceilings. The bed was comfortable, and the quality of the sheets and pillow cases was excellent. I hope that I have the opportunity to return to Philadelphia in the next few years, If I do, I will stay at this hotel.

Great location 10 min walk to historic sites, restaurants, bars, and waterfront. Paid parking a blk away. Room was small/medium with no view, but very quiet and very comfortable. Queen bed (double?) with narrow amt of space on either side of bed. Firm-ish (not soft) bed, good pillows. Spacious and nice bathroom. Good lighting and sufficient outlets. Breakfast had enough options eggs, meat, breads, waffles, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit - not high end, but more than sufficient. Nice and helpful staff at the desk. Crystal, who works in the breakfast room was super nice.

We would have liked a king bed, but I think it's not available due to the historic nature of the building. Also, our room didn't have a view, also due to where the building is, in the historic district. Front rooms (facing the street) would have a view, but may be noisy?

The room was great. Main floor and had a very high ceiling. Probably over 20'. Bed was comfortable. Space was solid and the bathroom was good, too. The location was extremely convenient to the history we were looking to tour. Even on an extremely hot day, we could get about early and weren't more than 10 minutes walk from most of what we wanted to see. Staff was great! Breakfast was great, too!

I think the price for the spacious ceiling was not having a great exterior view. But we spent very little time in the room, awake. So that wasn't very relevant for this trip.

The location is great. It is right next to the Museum of Revolution and about 5-10 minutes walk to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. The staff are friendly. Our train was at 3 pm and we returned to the hotel around 1 pm. We just sat in the lobby and enjoyed the air conditioning as well as the water/coffee/tea. The staff didn't say anything and asked if we needed help. The hotel is a historical building but the facilities are modern and fantastic. The hotel provides cookies from 4-6 pm but we were out so hope someone can enjoy it.

The breakfast could add more options. When I wanted to add a second cup of coffee, two bottles were all empty.

The room is relatively small but very comfortable. Extremely quiet. Excellent bed, curtains that indeed block the light. Good toiletries. Very professional staff. Very good location.

Breakfast is rather basic. TV with news and gossip was on all the time and quite loud, which I think is a terrible way of starting a new day. The breakfast tables were clean, but not extremely clean. There is a coffee and tea machine in the room, but it only works with the pads provided, and there was no way of making a non-caffeine tea in the evening. But: I can always have breakfast somewhere else, most important was that the room was very comfortable and staff most professional.

The room were we stayed must have been recently renovated, because everything was squeaky clean and new. Even the bathroom fittings were without the tiniest scratch. The room was facing the inner yard and was very quiet.

Not a fan of rooms where windows cannot be opened. Breakfast was more than decent but there should be real cups and mugs for coffee, not only paper cups to go.

Superior location, great breakfast, willing staff, remodeled rooms.

Front desk could've been a little more 'can do.' When we asked to put our name on the housekeeping list, the front desk told us to come back the next morning and tell the housekeeping staff ourselves. Airport transport would be a cherry on top, but understandable that we needed to arrange a taxi. Bed not the most comfortable, but that's subjective. Overall it was a great stay, and we'd come back.

You can't beat the location if you are there to visit the historic sites. There were many restaurants, bars, and attractions within walking distance. We felt very safe in this neighborhood. The complimentary breakfast was generous with a daily protein offering. The employees, who worked in the breakfast area were very upbeat and responsive. We also liked the toiletries, especially the mouthwash that was offered and there was a built-in night light in the bathroom.

The hotel is located in a historic building and has been beautifully updated. The room with the queen-sized bed is a smidge on the small side. The bathroom is tight especially when entering the shower and I am a petite person. The door to the room is heavy and ours didn't shut easily - it probably needs to be tweaked.

Location is excellent, short walk to most historic places. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Rooms were clean, bathroom was tight. Hotel is a converted building from the 1800s (similar to most buildings in this area), room dimensions are about average, tall ceilings more than makeup for any tight spots. A quick walk 2-3 blocks away from the hotel has great variety of restaurants. If you are driving in, please pull up at the door and talk to the front desk for directions to public parking nearby.

The sidewalks in the neighborhood are in need of repairs in many places. Uneven surfaces both on sidewalks and the road while crossing the street - 3 of out the 4 in my group tripped. One with a badly twisted foot.
