The view was fabulous

There were a lot of people smoking. While the hotel policy was no smoking in the rooms, people were smoking on the balconies, on the pool deck, basically anywhere outside. You couldn’t get away from the stink except to be in your room.

Size of the room, being on top floor (10th) ideal - fantastic views towards the sea and beach areas. Proximity to the beach a plus, pool area good as well. Unlike a previous Riu I stayed in you offered a separate food area from the dining room, for both sit in and take away, ideal for quick snacks

Size of the food collection area in the dining room - smallish and got very congested at times. Outside dining areas impacted by number of birds going guests food - certainly didn't go out there after first breakfast!!

My wife and I have stayed in Riu after the cruise we've had before returning back to the rainy winter Vancouver. It was a pleasure staying in the hotel to extend vacation experience for another day. Totally worth it! We have had a feeling similar to staying in all inclusive resort. Great breakfast, sunbeds, umbrellas, towels provided both at pool and on the beach, resort-style hotel design. Super smooth check-in and check out experience. We arrived earlier than check in time as we disembarked our cruise in Port Everglades in the morning and could get our room earlier as they have had some available. Also, loved the fact that the hotel is located in the middle of the island, not the South Miami Beach. It was quiet and pleasant. Still within walk/Uber distance from the nightlife

We paid for the buffet dinner. It was rather good for its price. Maybe, meat/fish options could have been added. Lunch should be taken elsewhere. The on-premises café has rather poor options.

the access to the beach was fantastic and pool was nice. all the food and beverage staff and the house keeping staff were very nice and represent the brand well. very positive.

The front desk staff were not as attentive as i would expect for the level of property, and brand. Tthe manner from anyone I dealt with on the front desk was 'disinterested'

It was like the 5th time we stayed here. We loved the breakfast. The hotel is of better quality than last times. Staff were nice and the beach is right there

The cleanliness could still be better. It was our honeymoon. We loved our stay, though it would have been nice if they had something as a small token of appreciation - even something small like a chocolate on the pillows or a nice card in our room, etc.

Loved the proximity of the beach and loved the amenities available.

The staff was very unfriendly. From the check in person when I arrived to the housekeeping staff to the front desk staff. They were not all that nice and almost annoyed with us

- Excellent location (on the beach and also walking distance from South Beach ~ 30 min; close to several restaurants, shops etc. - e.g. Starbucks, 24/7 Subway, markets, even gift shops); - Great beach service (free sunbeds, umbrellas and towels for the hotel’s guests, clean beach). The hotel also has a pool with plenty of sunbeds, in the middle of lots of palm trees :); - Wonderful and varied buffet-style breakfast (you can also have dinner at the hotel); - Spacious and well-equipped rooms (safe, mini-bar, hairdryer, iron, even ironing board); - Good house keeping. Also, the mini-bar was constantly refilled with new bottles of water when cleaning was done; - Helpful staff, considerate of the guests’ needs; - Diverse hotel amenities (bar, pool bar, small convenience store and a tours&activities reservation desk inside the hotel).

- The service elevator was the only one working for several days; - Loud ventilation noise (coming from the outside of the room) during daytime until evening.

The Hotel was very clean and has a great pool and out door dining with a bar. Excellent location to Miami Beach. Would stay again. Little pricey.

Outside location on the street side didn't have very much to offer walking around plus didn't exactly feel safe doing so.

The pool was out of use for the entirety of our stay due to it being deep cleaned after a storm the previous week, and then they had to wait 4 days for an inspection by the local authorities? We weren't informed by email before our trip, and if we were we might of cancelled or chosen another hotel in the same location. The two hotel pools either side of our hotel were in use the entire time? on the plus side, we swam in the sea instead and there were beach sun beds available at no extra charge.

Great location. Room was comfortable and with great view. It is better to reserve room with breakfast included. Breakfast is 10/10! My brother is a meat eater, my sister-in-law loves sweet things and I’m a veggie person and we all found a lot of options. Staff were nice. Hotel exceeded our expectations.

The room was stinky. I have been there before multiple times and they were all stinky - maybe because of poor ventilation?! Hotel needs to do something about that. If this was fixed, hotel would be 10 out of 10.
