The house being an old mansion had a lot of character. We stayed in the Tartan room which was very spacious. We had a nice comfy sofa and a balcony. The bed was super comfy. The Foxtel on the TV allowed us a lot of viewing options. The house was only a short walk to the main shopping area so was very convenient for eating out.

None of the shared spaces were ‘useable’ and the house in general seemed really quite run down and dusty. There was no breakfast, although it was called a bed and breakfast and limited tea and coffee in the rooms. There was a kitchen but it wasn’t available to use. The bathroom was desperately in need of renovation. It would have been absolutely beautiful 40 years ago, but It is now very old and tired.

We stayed for two nights in room 4 downstairs; we loved the space especially the luxurious bathroom and the high ceilings. Check-in staff were very friendly and polite and gave us good local recommendations. Convenient parking at the back.

We did have a bit of noise travelling from upstairs; like footsteps and rolling luggage but this is to be expected in a period property. We also found that the checkin ‘desk’ could have been placed in another room instead of just outside our room door to avoid disturbances. Daily cleaning starting at 8am was not ideal as sometimes on a holiday you just want to lie in and not hear the hoover bashing over your head…

The house and the grounds are fabulous. The room was large and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

There are mixed feelings about the huge bathroom is room 4. The sheer size of the room and the facilities are amazing. However there are some annoying details. Firstly, the taps in the spa bath are leaking. It really tried our patience to be in the bath under the constant trickle of icy cold water. Secondly, the tiles are very slippery when wet. There was the feeling of imminent danger of falling and breaking bones, every time entering or leaving the bath tub or the shower.

The property is very well located, only a couple of blocks from the Main Street. The bed is very comfortable, the main room is spacious, and the high ceiling and decor is impressive. The large smart tv is excellent.

The bathroom is interesting, but not very practical— shower over a bath with shower curtains, and a basin with insufficient room to arrange your toiletries

The historical character and the beautiful garden were very nice. It was also a nicely furnished kitchen and great coffee maker. The beds were very comfortable.

The house was quite cold so it was good to have the warming electric blankets on the bed. The small step offs from room and low doorways make it important to watch your movements through the house.

The house has a great feel with all the period features. One feels like living in the past, except that one has all the modern cons :-).

The only point you have to be aware of is that it isn't really a B&B. Even though we had announced our time of arrival previsously, no one was there upon our arrival and another guest was friendly enough to let us in.

We loved our stay here, the house is beautiful and our room was like a warm hug. The bed and linen was very comfortable. The tea, coffee, juice and water was a nice touch and bathroom was great. The location is nice and central.

This is not really about what we didn’t like, mostly comments. The person who met us at the house was very pleasant and was there on time however the check in process was a bit rushed. A continental breakfast or offering a breakfast basket would add to the stay and an extra black tea bag in the room would be great :-)

Ashley was our host who greeted us with wonderful enthusiasm and he was a fabulous introduction to our stay at this beautiful property, very helpful and thoughtful with local recommendations and making reservations for dinner. This is Beautiful old home from the glorious past in a lovely position close to town centre, restaurants etc, very central. We were in the Green room off the main hall, quiet even though near entrance. Room was very large modern neutral decor and quite spacious with an extremely impressive spa like ensuite. Boase stereo, large TV plus pod coffee machine. Room had a lovely gas fire /flames plus aircon, only down side for us was the bed is only queen size as my husband is tall and broad. Lots of lovely extras in this Beautiful suite. Heads up ; You can hear some walking on floor above so be aware if you retire early. We always wear earplugs and it didn’t last long so not a problem for us. Crisp linen, lots of pillows and fluffy towels. Easy parking, not far to walk to hotels etc. Highly Recommend!

Queen size bed every thing else was perfect

Staff met us on time,and were very polite. Room was beautiful,bed comfy.Bathroom very nice plenty of hot water. Easy walk to town and pubs or restaurants. Overall a great experience.

The house was fantastic but in need of some TLC. A coat of paint to freshen the house up would pay dividends.

We had a large room in this 1800’s house. It was lovely with antiques and a clawfoot tub. Great location with lots of great dining nearby.. 12 foot ceilings with a chandelier felt so spacious. The room and bathroom were very clean . The common areas were very Charming.

The room was showing its age. Could use the carpet stretched and a coat of paint. Furniture needs some touchups..
