Lovely quaint and traditional pub slightly off the beaten track. The rooms were large with great separate bath and shower and the food was traditional but really good, served by staff who were both friendly and professional. It was popular with locals which is always a good sign . Will definitely be back.
Slightly remote me. We had to skirt Middlesborourgh to get there, which wasn't the most picturesque of routes. and the roadworks there were annoying. Could maybe have done with a roaring fire in the bar area too.

- rooms were clean and warm - pub was lovely with great food - drinks were reasonably priced with a large selection - Quick service despite the business of new years eve - well staffed - huge bed which was extremely comfortable - gluten free bread available for breakfast in the morning. Wide range of breakfast options
- the only real downside to our stay was the automatic light in the bathroom. No switch and the dog going in and out of the bathroom all night to cool down meant that the light switched on continuously through the night waking us up and there was nothing we could do about it! - the windows didn't have a safety lock on them preventing them from opening too wide meaning because of the design we weren't able to open them

Great little inn.
Couple things that let it down for me was in the room. The fire escape was in the room and although the door was covered by the curtain, the bright green light above it, was uncovered and I really didn’t get much sleep. To make it worse, the vanity mirror was bouncing the green light straight of the bed and so it was double the pain! The other problem was the noise. There is an external fan on the outside which is permanently on! I don’t know if it was a heating/cooling unit or the kitchen extractor but it went on aaaall night. I thought everything else was great but when you’re sleeping at a hotel/inn, the main thing you want is ‘sleep’ and I got absolutely none sadly.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was lovely. The bar with the fireplace made it just perfect. We asked for two single beds but when we were shown to the room, it was made up as a double. The girl knew straight away that this wasn't what we had asked for and said she would fix it asking us to wait in the bar. When we ordered drinks in the bar, we were told that they were in the house. We also had a problem getting Netflix etc to work even although the TV in the room was connected to the internet and they came up and helped us sort it. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was great too. Would highly recommend. There is free parking on the street if the hotel car park is full. Loved it!
The bed was a bit firm for me so I didn't sleep great but that's just a personal thing for me, not the hotel's fault at all.

A beautiful little gem in a nice location not far from the A1. As normal with these sort of places, it's the staff that make or break them. In this establishment, they very much make it, the lady at breakfast in particular. The room was great, as was the bathroom. Dinner at night was great. If we are ever back in the area, we will surely return.
Few cobwebs on the side of the wardrobes as we walked in to the room. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work turning it in to a steam room Breakfast in the morning took nearly an hour to come out with no Continental selection to keep you going (Well worth the wait when it did arrive though)

The breakfast was excellent- plenty of choices and well cooked. We were looking for a dog friendly accommodation in Northumberland to break up a journey from Oban to Essex. The Percy Arms was 4 miles off the A1 and was an excellent choice. A lot of money has been spent on the hotel in the last few years and the accommodation standard was excellent. The price was a little higher than budget accommodation but you definitely notice the extra value. Staff were excellent and friendly. We ate here and the food is excellent. The bar was used by locals and people eating were all couples.
I can’t think of anything that needs improving. One concern was the step down in the bathroom but there is a big sign on the door and the bathroom light comes on automatically.

Tastefully decorated large comfortable bedrooms. We were given a free upgrade as the radiators in our room were not working fully and the weather was cold. We had 2 lovely meals in the restaurant by a roaring fire and the breakfasts were also very good.
The fact that the heating system wasn't working well. Even when transferred to another room ( though fabulous for what we'd paid) the bathroom radiator still was mostly cold do that towels couldn't dry. Although the evening meal was very good some items seem a little overpriced.

Everything, from the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room, the Superior King, was amazing, it had a standalone bath, walk in shower, coffee and tea making facilities and a small fridge. There is a decking area outside, although I believe this may have to be removed 🙁. The menu, although small, had an excellent choice and the food was delicious. The breakfast menu had various choices and I'm sure they would accommodate any request if possible. Overall, we had an excellent stay and Chatton is a perfect location for exploring the area.
I really can't find fault, we had a lovely stay.

Such a lovely place, in a little village, so was very quiet. The staff were all lovely, really friendly. The room was big, the bathroom was also big and the bath was a roll to free standing which I love! Would definitely stay here again. Loved it.
The bed was a bit hard for me but I'm used to memory foam, so I'm hard to please! I still slept well though so it absolutely would not put me off staying here again. I do think they need to add a shelf or something to the bathroom as there is nowhere to put a toiletries bag, but that's just a small thing.

We needed to leave early so the host had our breakfast ready as soon as the breakfasts started. The pub is in a great location in the wilds of Northumberland in a small village. It has a good atmosphere and is clearly frequented by a lot of the villagers. The room we had was very well appointed.
The shower screens were not adequate to stop water from the shower spraying over the bathroom floor. Whilst the meals we had in the pub were nice my partner found a tiny crab in her meal which should have been discovered before it was served.
