I loved the old industrial style building that the hotel was in, and the way that the hotel used aspects of the old building to add more character. The front desk staff were extremely nice, friendly, and helpful. The lobby cat, Clare, was a great addition. I liked that the restaurant and bar were right night door to the hotel, so we didn’t have to leave the property for a meal. Our two floor suite was also really nice and unique.

I think the experience would have been amplified if there was a wider variety for the continental breakfast. We enjoyed what they offered (like the muffins and coffee) but it felt like it was missing certain things. The parking was a bit confusing at first, as we were told to simply ignore the nearby parking signs labeled “no parking” out front and told to park anywhere but a few spots. I think if some of the old “no parking” signs could be removed and the parking situation could be updated, it would be an easier parking experience.

The location is lovely. Right on the water with a nice outdoor area. Absolutely gorgeous setting. We used the hot tub and it was great. Continental breakfast was nice - muffins very tasty. Restaurant was near by - I was surprised by the long wait on a Wed evening (at 6:30 we had to wait an hour) when it didn't seem very full ( we walked around it before entering) but calling our room when our table was ready was a nice service. The restaurant staff were very friendly.

There was a "resident cat" which - I am very allergic to cats - didn't bother me but I'm not sure I would have booked there if I'd have known. Parking was not the most convenient (especially when it was raining) and it was annoying that all of the parking out front was for the "Red River" - why did they have all the convenient parking?

The staff called me before check-in just to ask if there was anything they could do to make my check-in and stay more comfortable! Staff were super friendly very helpful and kind. The whole building is so gorgeous with the brick throughout. Very nice that it’s on the river. Complementary breakfast. Gorgeous giant fireplace in the lobby with couches and even some games. Very lovely restaurant even with a gluten-free menu. They even had a cat that wandered around the property that was a rescue… The cat was so friendly.

The pictures showed an outdoor hot tub, but found out later that that was part of a private suite. Although there is a hot tub on the property which was inside an enclosed room, but lovely.

I stayed in a double room the night after running the Boston Marathon. Claremont is easy to get to, not too far from one of the interstate highways. The Common Man Inn is a converted mill. What an absolutely beautiful place to stay. This inn is spectacular — from its location on the river to its rustic refurbished buildings, excellent restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, and overall sparkling cleanliness. The large room near reception is so very appealing: three comfy sofas around the fireplace to read. Brick and beams and bookcases...so warm and inviting. The staff members were friendly, helpful, and profesional. Caterinne, the girl who greeted us at the reception, was charming, efficient and gave us all kinds of instructions. We appreciated that the Fitness Center with Gym / Workout Roomfitness room and jakuzzi and sauna facilities were open until 11 p.m. That was the perfect ending to the marathon. The rooms are spacious and the bedding is among the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Spacious room (perfectly-placed reading light., air conditioning, Desk,Telephone, Coffee / tea maker, Refrigerator, Flatscreen TV, Bottled water, Iron, Wake-up service / alarm clock...) Nicely equiped bathroom: Complimentary toiletries, Hair dryer, artisan soap ... Free wifi was included and it was fast and uninterrupted. In the morning there was a complimentary expanded continental breakfast served in the lobby, Cereals, breads, juice, fruit, better quality yoghurts, coffee, thee and superdelicious the breakfast sándwiches: high quality. I look forward to being there again !

We could only enjoy this super hotel for a few hours !!!

Beautiful building on the river. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful with questions. The room was super clean and comfortable. The lobby area felt more like a comfy seating area in a large home. We were happy with our choice of accommodations and would recommend to others.

The parking lot if your vehicle didn't fit in the parking deck could be better. It's a dirt lot behind the building with no lights at night. Muddy and full of large puddles after the rain. It could definitely be improved.

The breakfast was outstanding. Something that anyone could eat. It was wonderful to have the coffee available 24/7 in the lobby but what was even better there was a juice machine in lobby also available 24/7. Having a resident cat made the place even homier. There was such quaintness throughout the whole place. The bed was so comfortable and the pillow was outstanding. It was so reasonably priced that I plan on coming back lots more because it is only 15 minutes away from where my brother with Parkinson’s lives and this will have us come more often to see him because we will have a comfortable place to stay. The staff on the desk was so friendly especially the gentleman on 3-11. He was so patient with the lady he was training on her first day. I liked how there was a book in the room that you could read and if you didn’t finish it you could take it with you. The whole place was so clean. You obviously have very good staff.

The hotel is in a totally redone old red brick factory building. The walls in the room are red bricks with high ceilings. The furnishings were lovely and stylish. There is a refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker in the room. Coffee, teas and hot cider were offered in the lobby area. The bathroom is bright and clean and I really enjoyed the deep bathtub. The lobby area is warm and inviting and many people just hung out there chatting, petting the hotel cat or working on the puzzle. There is a fitness room and large hot tub downstairs that looked very nice. Everywhere there was beautiful artwork on the walls, antique furniture and seasonal fall decorations. Breakfast had made-ahead French toast that was heated in a toaster, assorted breads and muffins, yogurt, cereals, packaged Jimmy Dean-type egg and sausage biscuits to heat in the microwave, juices, coffee, etc. Not excellent, but a varied selection of foods to give a great start to the day. The restaurant was beautiful and the food excellent. You cross a "bridge" over a little stream that runs under the building. It is lighted and can be viewed through glass in the floor as you walk over. There is a table with serve-yourself assorted crackers, dips and cheeses as you come down the stairs to the dining area. You take your plate to your table to munch on while you wait for dinner. You can go back as often as you like. There is a table at the top of the stairs where an older couple with mobility issues were being served. I think there is also an elevator to the lower dining area. The views out the windows are lush and green and the river is right there. Lights are strung around the property and lawn chairs were out to sit on and enjoy the view. We got lost trying to find the hotel and we called for help. The restaurant managers came to meet us and guide us to the facility! That's what we call over and beyond excellent service! We can't say enough good about this place!

There is only one desk person on hand at any one time apparently. When we arrived, there was a sign on the desk asking us to wait as he was serving a guest and would be back shortly. There were three groups waiting to check in by the time he returned. There were hot cider and cookies to eat, so that made the waiting more pleasant.

It was a perfect mix of lodge meets eclectic, with comfy beds and plenty to do. The windows in our suite were stunning and we had the river as a built in sound machine each night. Our little one loved the in house kitty, Clare, though I’m not sure it was a shared sentiment, ha! We took the kiddos on an adventure to see the river and there was a cute park nearby, plus a coffee shop right across the street & of course the Common Man restaurant downstairs with so many options - though heads up, you cannot get a glass of wine there & carry it back to your room! The morning continental breakfast had a handful of options, but being dairy & soy free due to allergies, we were able to find a cereal & almond milk, which was appreciated.

Our “suite” was about the size of a standard hotel room but their hotel rooms were smaller than average. Our pull out couch (twin sized bed) wouldn’t quite pull out due to the size of the room, so we had to angle it past the king bed. This wasn’t an issue, just quirky! Would have loved a small kitchenette, too, but the amenities worked for us!

My best friend and I have stayed at the common man plenty of times to many to count now lol and every time is always exceptional! The rooms are all unique with a nice decor and super clean!! The king bed extremely comfortable and the water view and sound of the water is so peaceful it’s the best part of the stay! The front end staff and all staff are always the best and accommodating Christopher and Jake are always great! Easy check in and out, great location to friends in the area and other things to do. No concerns or issues we are true fans of the Common man and recommend to anyone to experience.

The only minor issues is the breakfast area it is nice to be able to get up and get coffee, bagels muffins etc but the area is small and families tend to take up the tables space area and you have to move around everything. Otherwise no other concerns.

The common has always been a favorite location and property for myself and friends. The staff are always nice (Jackie and Jake, new Hire/ young lady and others). The location is close to family and friends and near places I visit with friends. The rooms are always super clean and cozy. The cleaning ladies are the best (two younger ladies Alexis and Kayla that assisted me were so nice and professional the best every stay) . My best friend and I enjoyed our stays and will continue to come back. The restaurant is also a favorite of mine. This time around the restaurant staff (Manager Sabrina) was extremely the best for assisting in helping me order food with superb customer service and the best welcoming personality (other managers should learn from you). Thank you common staff! Happy New year!

There was a mix up with our reservations when we arrived and that was very frustrating but Jake was very helpful and understanding and thank you for finding us a room with good accommodations! The breakfast is always a nightmare at the common man the area is too small and some guest are not aware of their surroundings and tend to take up all the tables for their own families not good, the breakfast I so wish was in the restaurant not near main lobby entrance huge disadvantage.
