The staff were kind and helpful from before the stay and even after check out. You can tell the cabin has been around for a while but it has been taken care of exceptionally and was very clean. The location was amazing, right in the heart of downtown and all its attractions were within a 10 min walk or less. We stayed in the cabin and they truly provided everything we needed in the kitchen to be able to save a coin and cook ourselves some food. Appliances work amazing and they provided some coffee and coffee filters for those who need it to start their day. They even give you some firewood and fire starters to utilize in the chimney.

The only thing that was a 9 instead of a 10 for us was that the bed was super comfy but a bit loud, even if you are just sitting down or adjusting yourself throughout the night. This wasn’t a big deal to me but my partner is a light sleeper and I toss in my sleep a lot so he did have to wear earplugs, so just something to be mindful of if this applies to you.

The decor in the room was perfect and we felt right at home. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the large TV and having a place to hang out outfits and a dresser for folded clothes. The multiple lamps were great. The coffee maker and darling lodge cups were a nice touch. We enjoyed the perfect little cabin. We liked that our small dog and Bird could accompany us ( with prior approval) on our stay and go to the Renaissance Festival with us The fireplace was nice, may have to consider a visit in late fall, early winter to be able to experience it.

Some folks left a dog in their room( which we thought was not allowed) and it barked at any movement until the owners came back later in the evening Saturday night, it didn't disturb our sleep Thankfully, Otherwise the room was very quiet and we enjoyed our stay! Our dog slept in his crate at night while we slept and went on adventures with us during the day!

The staff: Morton, the General Manager, was kind enough to waive the cancellation fee in spite of me missing the deadline. Thank you, Morton. Lisa was there to greet us and let me say that she is an amazing person. She was friendly, trusting, very accommodating, and she treated us like friends. Thank you, Lisa! Joyce is a really nice person. She's a good listener, patient, and we really liked her a lot. The property: The cabins are so quaint and peaceful. The bed we slept in was super comfortable. The cabin was equipped with dinnerware, silverware, cooking utensils, cookware, cheese grater, coffee pot, and the microwave was the quickest microwave we've ever used! Also, The Idyllwild Inn is directly across from the center of town. Everything you need is easily accessible, including PURE the coffee shop next door. Needless to say, we loved it and will be back!

We liked everything!

The room was cozy and comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better--within steps of cafés, restaurants, and shops. Lots of hot water although it could be too hot. (See warning below.) The room has a fireplace with some wood but no kindling or matches. This was not a problem as I don't like to use fireplaces in bedrooms and the room's heating system is good and is individually controlled. One of the staff makes PIES. I bought a pecan-pumpkin which was delicious!

The carpeting is stained and needs a thorough cleaning. The upholstery on the two chairs is worn and stained. Needs to be changed. The hot water is TOO hot. It could cause serious burning. A great deal of care needs to be used as the temperature is controlled by one single faucet--a knob which is difficult to manipulate. Children using the shower or tub should be CLOSELY SUPERVISED.

Desk clerk, who also turned out to be the "Pie Lady" of local fame, showed us where we could park on the property next door (also owned by the same people) to avoid any steps to move our stuff into the room. Beautiful hand carved fireplace mantel on stone fireplace.

The "fire starter" wouldn't light the wood that was available (no kindling). Stains on the carpet.

What a find ! We drove from far from LA and chose to stay here before entering LA urban area. The road to this hotel was a decent climb and thankfully i had a truck which was robust enough to reach here. The area was surrounded by snow and slippery road. But the hotel had a very calm gentleman managing it and we were offered a very cute cabin with firewoods. The room was so cozy and warm and decent forest view. The cabin had a kitchennete and we enjoyed our coffee enjoying the view from the porch. There is a well stocked supermarket so you can find everything for your daily needs

I cant think of anything

The staff was incredibly friendly, and even let us check in a little bit early. The location couldn’t be better. I was traveling with my elderly mother and special needs son, so the short & easy walk to shops & restaurants was much appreciated. They were impressively prompt about clearing the roads after it snowed. The fireplace was a real treat.

I saw the photos beforehand and knew what I was getting myself into, but it was a little strange to have two beds practically in the dining room/kitchen, and there was no heating in that part of the house, so it got very cold at night (my son opted to sleep on the couch instead). It was rather stormy one night & I didn’t get much sleep because the wind was blowing/banging the window shutters? against the house & then the snow plowing began. Hard to complain about those things though because 1) Mother Nature 2) the alternative to early morning snowplowing is being snowed in/trapped.

The cleanliness was outstanding inside the cabin and the entire facility. I have never experienced anything better. In addition, staff manager Lisa was extremely helpful in helping us resolve an issue that allowed our stay to be even better. I can’t believe Lisa baked all of those beautiful pies and exemplary customer service. Thank you so very much Delores Joseph

The trash situation and hunting for the disposal of it

The location is perfect. The property is well laid-out, with good parking and charming decor. The staff was kind and efficient, very smooth check in & out processes. The bed was super comfy and the soundproofing was very good.

The only thing I can comment on is in the Old West themed room, there were lots of stains on the carpet. I believe with a good deep clean, this will be resolved. Other than that the room was very charming and clean.

The entire town was a treat. The Americana Logging history was so real and charming. Lots of rugged terrain surrounding this enclave of "just folks" (meant in the BEST way possible). I had to travel to Palm Springs most of the days there. The contrast was so clear. Will remember this "find" as a gem in my travels.

The one and only thing was the dryers in the Laundromat were set too low. After a half hour the load was STILL damp so I packed wet clothes, missed a shower, and left with that as a final memory.
