The rooms were lovely and large and the bed was super comfy. The food in the restaurant was very good. (Thankfully, as nowhere else in the village was open!) All staff in the hotel were lovely and really helpful.

Having decent light, power sockets and mirrors all together are a Must. It was not easy drying and straightening hair. I realise the hotel dates back a long time and suspect it is the intention, furnishing-wise, to maintain that ‘old-fashioned’ feel. However, some ‘mod cons’ such as USB sockets would have been very helpful. The shower in our room was fabulous (although the bath itself was very narrow). However, the room used by the other guests in our party apparently had an awful shower. Couldn’t regulate the temperature. The breakfast was a little disappointing, having heard so much from the late, lamented Terry Wogan about how good Northern Irish breakfasts are.

The staff were very friendly nothing was too much trouble. Although there was a problem with the booking they sorted it out for us very much to our advantage. If we go to Carnlough again we will definitely stay there.

The only thing we didn’t like was that the shower was in the bath and having bad knees we were worried about climbing in and out but I am sure if we had mentioned it we would have been given another room but we were only there one night so didn’t worry.

A comfortable hotel which was slightly faded round the edges which only added to its charm. We were given a large spacious room full of all the furniture one would expect in this type of establishment. Very enjoyable.

We felt our supper could have could have been cranked up a notch or three…. but we were hungry and presented two clean plates.

I would firstly like to mention young Thomas. Whilst sitting in the bar area three ladies came in and sat at the table next to us and ordered tea. One of the ladies more senior to the other two ask if they did biscuits with their tea? Thomas replied no but he would be happy to pop out to the shop and get some. Now if that's not what you call exceptional service I don't know what is. We couldn't fault the service of staff all day and for breakfast, the hotel should be very proud. The food we ordered in the evening was beautiful and for breakfast just delicious, credit to the chefs 10/10 thank you.

The hotel looks tired and in a major need of redecoration to bring it up to date. The room we were first given was noting like the pictures on the Web site and was more like a discount budget hotel room with outdated furniture and needed a good clean. Fortunately when mentioned at front desk this was quickly rectified.

The location is beautiful, sitting right on the coast of the Irish Sea. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, providing us with excellent recommendations on how to spend our time in Carnlough. The food was delicious, particularly the evening meal in the hotel restaurant. All in all this was a great trip and we will definitely be coming back!

Great location between the lovely little harbour and the beach. So much history in the hotel. Wonderful time discovering the story. The room was quiet and comfortable and had a lovely view out across the countryside. The dinner and breakfast were top notch and we were sad to leave this lovely location. Well worth a visit.

The room, the staff, the food were all first class. Plenty of parking in own car park. The location as a base for visiting a beautiful part of Ireland, both the coast and the glens. This is a hotel full of character.

From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel welcome, advising us on places to visit etc. The room was lovely and clean and well appointed. The food was delicious and the choice of drinks was quite splendid.

We've struggled to think of anything negative to say, so we wont!

This is an old traditional hotel with lots of interesting features. As far as I’m aware it is now under new ownership and extensive renovations will be taking place soon.

The rooms are a bit tired but will soon be upgraded.

Bed really comfortable, room had a lovely view of the sea, staff were friendly and breakfast was very good.

Parking is limited and you are on the main road in Carnlough so rooms facing into the village will be quieter than front facing rooms.
