This is dear reader one of the best hotels I've stayed in anywhere in the World. A big statement from a big man who has been to 80 countries and stayed in countless hotels. The word hospitality is defined as just two words. Lars + Marcella. Quite exceptional in terms of their attention to detail and care of their guests.... a beautiful Oasis style palace set 3km from Estepona, all rooms are individual and excellent. We stayed in a TREEEmendous room with a giant palm tree growing through the ceiling. The breakfast served each day by Lars was a Michelin inspired treat of pure inspiration and love. And when I say Michelin standard, I should know as a former hotel inspector and reviewer. I cannot praise this joyous sanctuary enough. Go and be wowed.

The fact that we could only stay for 3 days. Very, very little to fault. I give in. Let's use one word. NOTHING.

Loved eating the best ever breakfast outside. There was an air of calm about the place which was perfect. Just 5 minutes from the bustle of Estepona yet it felt miles away and was so peaceful surrounded by trees and gardens.

Lars made fresh bread every day and created something new and different each morning! I have stayed in a lot of places in Spain and I have never had such an amazing breakfast a feast for your eyes. Marcella and Lars are the most amazing hosts and go out of there way to make you feel at home, also the 3little dogs are incredible friendly! If you find yourself in that part of Andalusia and like a peaceful and welcoming place to stay this is it! With bonus of being able to get into the old town and beaches with in 10min.

The only thing I didn’t like were the pillows! I found them too bouncy and would have preferred something softer! This a very small grumble as everything else was perfect 👌

Had a fabulous stay at El Molino. We stayed for 6 nights with our 1 year old daughter and we all loved it. It's a fantastic place to relax as there are not a lot of rooms so, even in August, it can sometimes feel like you have the place to yourself. However, the place inspires a sense of neighbourliness so any interactions with the other guests were also delightful! The design is fabulous and the place is spotless. It's not an obvious place for a small child but Marcelle and Lars really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and our daughter felt right at home there after a day!

A charming hotel nestled in the rustic hills above Estepona. The owners are incredibly friendly and accommodating. I only stayed for one night and had to leave early for a flight, so I didn’t get to enjoy the full experience. The hotel is a beautifully renovated old chalet, with a touch of elegance. It has everything you might need, including a well-stocked kitchen. The owners were especially helpful in providing detailed instructions for getting to the airport early, and they worked perfectly!

El Molino is amazing!! If you want relaxation and great hosts, this is the place for you. We spend 3 days here at the end of our holiday and so glad we did. The moment we arrived, we felt so welcome and was shown round the hotel, great shared area to use, honesty board where you mark what you have had against your room, but we were given some drinks on the house, also as a bonus as the water from the tap was good to drink!! Marcella and Lars were great hosts and always these if you need anything. We were lucky to meet the 3 resident dogs who were lovely, always there for a stroke..there was also a couple of horses also to go and see. Our room had everything we needed, from great air con to toiletries and towels, we were in room 3 which was great! Although we hired a car, we took taxi into town which was only around 8 EURO. Big thank you to Marcella and Lars for their hospitality and would 120% recommend El Molino

We liked everything, we should have stayed longer !!

If you do anything at all in Estepona, you HAVE to stay at El Molino! It was quite honestly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Marcel and Lars are a delightful Danish/Swiss couple who excel in making you feel like it's your home from the very start. And what a home! Beautiful courtyard and garden to relax in - it was very hard to pull ourselves away and explore Estepona! For this, they can lend you electric bikes which take 5 mins to the beach and just a bit more to explore the main town (the centro historico is beautiful). Marcel and Lars gave us endless tips on where to eat etc - all of which we used, and all of which were great recommendations. Marcel even took us to the most amazing jazz night in one of her favourite bars: a really special evening. Lars was previously a top chef in Denmark, and it shows: breakfast was outstanding: I'm not normally a breakfast person but just couldn't resist the amazing platter he presented to us. All the rooms are stunning (Marcel is an architect and the imagination in the design and decor really shows). But by far the nicest thing for us was the way they made it feel much more like a home than a stuffy hotel. Can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait to return. Nothing! Everything was just perfect!

Our hosts reached out to us well before our arrival to coordinate check-in & once there our party of four was received warmly by a most lovely & gracious couple - Lars & Marcelle. The villa is a beautiful, historic building decorated with exquisite taste & designer attention to detail. The beds & pillows were very comfortable & dressed with crisp, quality linens (…sigh). There is a kitchen area open to guests where we could select from a variety of beverages including beer & wine, noting it on a board to pay upon checkout. The honour system - imagine that in this day and age. Guests also have allotted space in a fridge to store other drinks or snacks, and morning Lars prepared a custom, homemade breakfast that was off the charts - amazing! Another pleasant surprise, our two side-by-side suites opened up to a huge, private terrace overlooking the gorgeous pool & garden. We were so delighted & impressed with every aspect of our stay at El Molino. Thank you both!

The hotel was beautiful. The staff were lovely and the breakfast they provided was exceptional. The roon was great and a good size as was the pool. The gardens were lovely, as were the horses.

The only slight issue was that the place is quite remote. Which is not neccessarily a bad thing, but it did mean if you wanted to go into the town on an evening for dinner and a drink you would need to get a taxi there and back.

This is a gem; a place to remember, an oasis of calm after a day of exploration, a classy place where you feel like family. Because the owners let you use the kitchen, (there is a fridge just for guests!) the sitting room and the living room and are so welcoming. Our room was large, across from the deep and refreshing pool, and very comfortable. There are lounge chairs on the neatly mowed grass or around the pool, and many places to sit outside. If you opt to get breakfast, you will not be disappointed. Parking is safe inside the property you access via the gate. We fell in love with Estepona.
