I chose this hotel because of the location across from the Interlaken West train station and the price. I stayed in a single room (but it had a double bed) with a view of the river and mountains that I specially requested and was given. Yes, it is an old grand hotel with very old furniture and does need to be updated in the bedrooms and bathroom. But it is very clean! Who cares if the furniture is old, you're up in the mountains every day enjoying mind blowing scenery or activities. You're not there to sit in your room and admire the furniture! I found my room to be comfortable with heating that I could adjust, a clean very comfortable bed and the bathroom clean too with plenty of nice white towels and hot water. And I had the most wonderful view of the mountains when I woke up . Cleaning ladies were very friendly, same with the breakfast staff. WIFI was good for me, never a problem. The lift was good, never really had to wait for it and it is not small like I have read on here. Breakfast was good, decent choice, nice dining room with views of the mountains. Restaurants and shopping just minutes from the hotel. And a big COOP grocery shop just around the corner from the hotel. I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Central Continental and if I wanted to be based in Interlaken again, this hotel would be my first choice for location and easy access to the mountains, price and cleanliness.

A fridge in the room would be good, but not a big deal in the winter. I just sat my bottles of water on the outside window ledge and they were ice cold.

The location is exceptional as it's very close to the train station and I had an amazing view of the alpes and the beautiful river from my window. The employees are very kind, the coffee is very good. It has a bathtub and the water is blue like the river, that's amazing. Very good overall. I really recommend it.

The wifi is really bad. It could be better. It could also have a safe and a small refrigerator in the room.

Omg! This hotel is almost like the landmark of Interlaken west, all the tourist will stop by and take a picture of this amazing building. It’s so convenient only 4 minutes walk from the Interlaken West train station. The river view from the hotel was amazingly beautiful! At the evening, outside the balcony you can hear the alphorn from the mountain. How romantic! The staffs are very friendly and helpful with our questions.

Convenience but the breakfast needs to be improved as only have one slow cooking pan for raw eggs! It literally took more than 5 minutes for just cook 2 eggs. Should have prepared some ready made eggs to avoid a long line to wait for the simple food like egg.

We had booked 2 big rooms - room no 501 and 502 (for 2 families) - adjacent to rach other that gmhas almost roomsize the attached terrace. We were fortunate to get top floor that offers amazing 180 degree view right from Swiss Alps to Harder kulm on other side..great location, amazong breakfast and very convenient and memorable stay which was bit less crowded compared to Interlaken OST. Also hotel victoria, yash raj statue, DDLJ garden (shooting location) all good places were just 5-10 min walking distance..Staff was good and hotel was short 3 min walk from Interlaken EST..Very good start of our trip with this stay..

The location (overlooking the river 200 yards from the Interlaken West Train/Bus stations) was perfect. As a base for exploration of the Berner Oberlander it was ideal. The Front Desk, Management, breakfast and cleaning staff were exceptional. We could sit on our balcony and watch the hangliders fly over the valley.

It is an old Hotel. Lots of character but don't expect an in room fridge or an icemaker down the hall. The parking garage is an adventure ;-)

it's ok, However , all guest should prepare fired egg themself. This section take long waiting time. it should be great if hotel have staff to prepare it.

We have problem to make reservation. Hotel confirm that there have only 1 person room but we need to stay with my wife. Hotel deny for our request for 2 person room then we have to make 2 room reservation. However when we arrived hotel , they already have 2 person room. it mean we have to pay double price for one room.

Staff, location and price. If you are going to spend most of your time outside (which I think you will) then this hotel is a good option because it located in the heart of Interlaken.

Loved the location - it's super central. The room, while may look a bit dated, its still clean and pretty decorated with old english style/design. The hotel is very beautiful too with most if not all rooms facing the river. Breakfast spread is good, not too many choices but just enough - milk, eggs, fruits, cheese, bread, dessert. The hotel do look understaffed though (u will see the same person at receoption today, being a kitchen staff tomorrow). The hotel won't entertain early check in whatsoever as well. For the price and location its all worth it. I have nothing major to complain about.

The hotel look understaffed and not properly managed like other hotels. Arrived at 12.30 noon but the reception was dark and memo left on the front desk wiritte "check in @ 2pm"

I love historic hotels, so the decor and such was so wonderful for me. I had a very relaxing bath. When I checked in, the receptionist was welcoming and gave me good advice (I told her what I was planning to do and she made suggestions for other things I could do and affirmed me of my plan. Ex: the street food festival was in town, she reminded me to go and it was amazing.) Overall I just had an amazing weekend getaway. They held my bags for me for the day when I checked out. I wish I could say something about breakfast, but unfortunately I set my alarm for 10am and it closed at 10am - that's my mistake. I bet it was good based on other reviews...

On the day of my checkout, housekeeping knocked on my door and opened the door at 10:45. I did not appreciate that. If checkout is at 11am, then they should wait until 11am. As someone who has worked in housekeeping, I understand why they do this, and I think it is okay to knock as soon as it becomes 11:00, especially since they have such a short turnaround time with a 2pm check in. However, I think it is important to respect the guest by waiting until 11am.

I liked how there was a river right outside of the hotel. I really enjoyed the breakfast, the cream cheese and the bread was really good and the nutella sandwiches and the butter was very soft. Also I really enjoyed the beds it was soft. And location beautiful. The alpine water was very good and refreshing! Very cool and tasted amazing!

I wish the breakfast had more vegetarian options. Also the breakfast closes at 10 am which is a bit early and didn't let me sleep in. Also if lunch and dinner was provided it would be very nice. But overall great hotel!
