The Feathers, Wadesmill is in a lovely village location. It is a spacious and well decorated pub / restaurant, with accommodation in a separate block behind the Inn. The pub is lovely, the selection of drinks is very good and the service was excellent. The restaurant was well laid out. We had both dinner and breakfast during our stay, the food was really good quality, fresh and tasty, the menu options extensive, and the service was again excellent. The accommodation was superb - we booked a superior double room and it truly was superior. Well laid out, decor in really good condition and lots of extras that you just wouldn't expect for this great price - full selection of hot & cold drinks plus snacks in the room, good quality soaps etc., in the bathroom and plug sockets everywhere :-) We will definitely look for Chef and Brewer locations when staying elsewhere in the UK.

A lovely setting. The hotel rooms are separate from the restaurant. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The facilities in the room were of a good quality and everything worked. It had a good shower in a well maintained bathroom. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and good quality food. We had a meal in the restaurant on the evening which again was excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall I was very pleased with the stay and look forward to staying there again in the future.

There were no issues all was great.

All the staff very pleasant. Great room in very quiet area of building as requested. Huge bed, very comfortable. Food good and reasonably priced. Good location just off our route and excellent parking, including wheelchair bays.

The shower was over the bath, fine, but the bath was glassy slippery. Maybe supply a proper mat in place rather than just suggesting that one was available from reception. Reception closes quite early… Breakfast excellent but service very slow on the busy Sunday morning.

Comfortable room, efficient and friendly staff. The meal I had (sea bass) was excellent, with good service, and there was a good choice of ales. The breakfast was OK.

A fairly minor point: there was a small puddle on the bathroom floor from either a leaking shower or toilet. This was not created by me! I reported this, but have received no feedback. I would have liked an apology or perhaps even a small amount or compensation as a gesture. Also, the walls are a bit thin, but there isn't a lot you can do about that.

We loved the room, it was clean and comfortable and nice and quiet. Felt like we were in a small cabin in the woods as there were trees and squirrels outside the window. Cute! Staff in restaurant and hotel were lovely!

I was a little put off at breakfast both mornings as the juice glasses, cups, plates were not very clean. Also the 2nd day we were there our room wasn't cleaned and no clean towels for bathing. Had it not been for these 2 points, I would have rated 5 star Excellent!

Expected something like a Premier Inn breakfast but the Chef and Brewer breakfast at the Feathers far exceeded this with a wide selection of hot breakfast meals ranging from the Full cooked breakfast through Farmers Breakfast, Pancakes with Maple Bacon and syrup to smoked salmon and thier version of Eggs Benedict and much more.

Nothing really, although the coffee was only filter coffee from a vacuum flask and you had to make tea with hot water from a pump action vacuum flask.

Room 17 was excellent. The coordinated decoration and cleanliness was very good. Thank you. All staff we met were very polite and happy to assist with whatever we asked and with a smile.

Obviously aircon would have been nice but a fan was supplied in the room. The other room doors were slammed shut too often by residents via their auto-closers, but this could be avoided by tweaking them to firmly shut within the final 6" of travel and still confirm to the current fire regs.

my partner and I liked just about everything, lovely big comfy bed, exceptionally clean, staff on reception were most friendly and helpful,

only critizism was'nt asked if wanted toast with breakfast, in hindsight perhaps I should done my own toast in area where you could help yourself to continental breakfast, apart from that everything was perfect ,hope to go back next year.

Lovely room and bathroom recently refurbished in a quiet location. Easy car parking in front of rooms.

Double bed and room a bit small. A low wooden beam across the room is problematic for anyone over 6 foot.

It was a fabulous place to stay. Reception staff very welcoming and kind. The room was furnished beautifully and the bed was so comfortable. The tv was beautifully large which I enjoy when relaxing. The tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates were lovely touches and great after a long trip. Bathroom was first class. Lovely shower Breakfast was fresh, tasty and the staff were very attentive

Only one very small thing that could be added. The choice of a firm pillow with a soft pillow as all the pillows are currently firm which didnt suit my need. This is of course a personal choice but personally would have like to have had that choice
