If you want to spoil yourself while visiting Mystras and the Taygetos mountains area - Kyniska Palace is the place for you. It offers luxurious suites, beautiful pool, rich breakfast and even gym and spa.

The place needs a bit of an update. The breakfast room was not air-conditioned when I came down in the morning, air-condition was turned on only when I arrived. My friends told me that the air-condition in the gym didn't work well either, but maybe that was a one-time technical problem. They also said nobody welcomed them when they arrived to have breakfast, there was nobody there to serve them coffee, and the warm dishes were cold.

Half board an breakfast were super nice and tasteful. The staff also was so friendly and helpful

We didn’t like that the pool is open to visitors. We pay a significant amount in order to relax away from the noise. Additionally I would suggest to widen the hours of pool, 10 am is late in the morning and 19:00 early, especially during a heatwave.

We were a group of 21 adults, and this hotel was exactly what we needed. The Suites are very large and comfortable The area is surrounded by olive and orange trees and the smell of the nature was great. the staff was excellent and we even had a chance to make our own party after dinner. thank you

The hotel is well located, close to Sparti and the archaeological site of Mystras, easy to find with parking on site. Although it seems to be relatively new, the decoration is somewhat poor/all fashioned. We stayed for one night and might have been the only guests around. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were also offered an upgrade to a very well sized suite, which was much appreciated. There is also a very nice good sized pool, which unfortunately closes at 7pm.

Although the beds very comfortable the pillows were oversized and very hard making for a very difficult sleep and a soar neck the next morning. The A/C was also noisy and the shower somewhat uncomfortable. As we were probably the only guests (no one else showed up for breakfast) the self service breakfast trays were completely empty. However we were served ala carte a very rich and complete breakfast. The lady that served us breakfast was dressed like cleaning staff, which did not do justice to the hotel standard.

Beautiful, well apportioned, clean rooms. Fireplace pre-filled with firewood. Delicious breakfast. Amazing views. We loved this hotel and highly recommend it.

We didn’t find out that the indoor pool is 14 and up until we arrived, so that was a disappointment. Other than that, it was wonderful.

Beautiful surroundings, quiet, a place to really relax, with great stuff. The hotel was very well kept up both inside and outside with some really gorgeous vintage style furnishings. 

No real negatives, just a couple of observations. We had booked half board and expected a Buffet dinner, but instead, it was à la carte. However, this was not a problem because there were several choices, and the food was really good. They indoor pool and adjoining Jacuzzi were relatively small so the hotel asked us to book time to use them in advance. This seemed unusual at first, but it ended up being quite refreshing because we were able to enjoy the pool and Jacuzzi alone. 

The suite was spacious and well equipped. It had 2 lovely balconies. There are 4 suites in each building so it gives a sense of privacy. Spa was nice and reasonably priced. Very nice gym - note that you need to reserve it, but this way you have it only for you.

For a 5-star resort we were disappointed with the pool, it is fairly small and its water was far from clean. I’d expect a much more serious facility given the distance from the sea and the competition of the nearby palace resort. Another problem is that the area is pretty boring, at least in summer when it is super hot (during our stay it was ~38-39 degrees Celsius) and when the pool is not an option we basically drove ~1h to the shores.

Very nice, helpful staff and generous sized rooms. The mountain scenery was beautiful and the whole site was very clean and well organised.

The half board menu was very limited, with no traditional Greek dishes. Unfortunately, the food was not very good and the eggs at breakfast were cold. This was a shame because everything else was lovely.

We have stayed at this hotel a few time. We love it. The hotel, rooms and spa are amazing. They offer a delicious breakfast. The staff are supper friendly and helpful. I'm sure we will stay again on our next visit. We got a chocolate massage and Maria was outstanding. Highly recommend!

I could not tell you one thing we didn't like about the spa.

This is without doubt the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in over 100 in my time. Gorgeous house style apartments, trees, mountain views, pool, jacuzzi. The staff are lovely and go out of their way to assist people. Great bar with local Sparta beer. Gorgeous rooms, great showers, very quiet. Cannot recommend the place more.

You need cash to tip people here (and you’ll want to) so ensure to hit an ATM before you arrive. The breakfast could be tastier.
