Hotel de La Paz was amazing! We had room#2 with a beautiful view from the balcony! The room was clean and very authentic! Tje chirch bells would ring but that was part of the charm of the city. No matter where you stay you will hear church bells. The lobby isnt fancy..a simple sitting room and small restroom...but truly has everything you need in the BEST location! Breakfast is right across the street which also wasnt a problem...a nice way to start our day! Highly recommend this hotel!

I love everything!

The location of hotel is excellent, in an alley between the Basilica Of Lady Guanajuato and the University Guanajuato. The staff, even as they could not speak English well tried hard to help with the queries. Water dispenser outside the room and accessible to all is a great idea.

I wish the staff can be more conversant in English and if there is a city map provided to guide tourists. Lighting a bit old and not bright enough.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the city. We walked everywhere and enjoyed our room throughout the day. The weather was extremely nice but we had one day that it was a little hot and was glad that the room had A/C. Our room had a balcony looking at the city and church. Perfect spot to just sit and watch people walk by. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, answering all our questions and giving us some of their recommendations.

The church bells would go off throughout the day which is normal but would also go off at night. Closing the balcony door double doors did help.

This hotel was very nice. The room and bathroom were clean and very spacious. There was a water refill station that I absolutely appreciate them providing. The hotel helped up set up transportation. The location was PERFECT. very central to everything you would want to walk to. There is a lot of noise at night, however, there is not going to be any centrally located hotel that does not have this problem as the city comes alive at night. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting.

The location is exceptional ! I was able to walk to restaurants, shops and museums with pleasure. I took the funicular up the hill and walked back down, after spending time learning about Pipila, and why he is respected throughout Mexico.

I liked everything. It was quiet, the breakfast was nice, the staff was lovely, the hotel is charming. It was easy to navigate my way around town because of the distinctive landmarks near the hotel. ( The church and the university )

Breakfast was excellent, you just need to go to another location close by. Room was comfortable and clean. I love the colonial decoration.

Everything was super nice. Adding a coffee maker and an iron to the room would be excellent. My balcony had a view to an alley, where there is nothing. I was wishing my view to the yellow church. But, there are only two rooms that have it.

A great location near one of the main squares, but not noisy. A really nice view from my window and from the roof terrace. A great recommendation from the desk staff for a walking tour with Marianna which was excellent.

One of the desk staff was very unhelpful. I had a very early start and was concerned that an event was being set up underneath my window the evening before. I asked what was happening, and how long it would go on for. She was unconcerned about my request, said she didn’t know and made no effort to find out.

The property was fantastic. There was nothing we did not enjoy. The location is amazing and so close to restaurants, markets, museums, and transportation. The tour bus was right across the street. It was extremely hot that week and we were so appreciative that it was easy to get to and cool off. The staff was very helpful and great check in and check out. The bed was comfortable and towels and bed linen was top quality. Great water pressure and tons of hot water. Great value was the water coolers in the hall and the rooms came with a glass water pitcher and glasses so you could get as much water as wanted and did not have the clumsy and limited plastic water bottles that are usually provided by hotels. Breakfast was great. It was a buffet that was located just across the street in one of there other hotels. We had great service and food. The coffee was great also! We live in a near by city and plan on returning a few times a year and will stay in the Hotel de la Paz.

Excellent boutique hotel right in the heart of busy Guanajuato. Smallish rooms but all facilities worked perfectly, comfortable bed, fresh towels, clean sheets, good showers etc. The entrance to the hotel looks a little drab but inside, corridors and rooms are bright, clean and well-decorated. Our room offered excellent views of University buildings.

First-time visitors to the city need to know that traffic and parking are a nightmare. Hotel staff were extremely helpful in leading us to a car park 10 minutes walk away but the walk itself, along the city's dark, polluted tunnels is unpleasant. This is absolutely NOT the fault of the hotel, but drivers will need patience if booking this hotel.

Right in the beautiful town center in a lovely old hotel. Nice breakfast arrangement with hotel across the square.

Its central location means you are exposed to very loud and very long partying in the streets. Both nights Mexican bands played loudly till 2:30am. No ear plugs could block out the sound of endless drumming.
