Good beds. Good location. Away from town so could see a lot of stars.

The name lead us to a different address on Google maps. Make sure you click on the booking.com link to get the right address. The staff did message to say check in ends at 19:00, but we missed the messages, and the staff didn't call us until 18:45 to ask where we were. We couldn't get there until 19:30 and begged him to stay a little later so we could access the accomodation. Luckily staff were there to greet us. Bathroom was a little old. Creaked a lot in the strong winds.

I loved the hammock outside on the porch, it's a small and simple room but perfect just for a private room to sleep and private bathroom! The location is great, but I realized quickly you really need to rent a car on Yakushima island for the best experience. This place is about a 20 min walk from the main town, which is fine but it was not ideal it walk with my luggage from the port when I realized there was no way for me to call a taxi lol. But otherwise the 20 min walk wasn't bad! Just would've been a lot better with a car

I really regret not taking the upgrade they offered me when I arrived! This is just on me, not on the place, but heads up that you should take the ocean view room / book it if you are able! They showed it to me and it was an insanely beautiful view, and it had a nice stone bathtub in the bathroom with a big window looking outside. I wasn't thinking and turned them down in the moment even though it was very cheap for the upgrade, then I regretted it for the rest of the time! My room was still fine, just a basic room but I couldn't stop thinking about the nice one lol

Really nice little cabin with stunning ocean views! I loved spending evenings on the hammock outside. The beds were comfy, and the kettle and fridge came in handy. Also, the hosts were really lovely and gave us guidance for planning out activities. There's a bus stop just down the road which is useful for those without cars.

Walls are quite thin, so we could hear our neighbours. There's also a loudspeaker outside that wakes everyone up at 7am. Be prepared for there being nothing else in the area, closest being the port and a supermarket about 25 min walk away.

Lovely cabin for a stay on Yakushima! There is a kitchenette with enough for you to prepare simple meals if you wish. Toilet is in a separate room from the shower which was nice. The cabin is very spacious and there’s even a deck with chairs, a table and a hammock. If you are driving they have free parking spaces

The location is off the main road and could be a little hard to find in the dark. Make sure to look for signs which they’ve put up in addition to navigating with your maps. The road leading to the accommodation is a bit narrow in some parts so keep that in mind if you are renting a bigger vehicle. We had a van and it was just able to make it but a smaller vehicle would’ve been much better

We like the high wooden ceilings of the cottage.Bathroom was nice, all wood, newly remodeled. It was also nice to have a private garden that was away from the road with deck, table, chairs and hammock.

We stayed in the cottage so that we could have a kitchen, since there are no restaurants nearby. There was a hot plate and microwave for only the very basic food prep because there were only a few very small bowls, saucers and mini fridge to use. Unfortunately I had purchased lots of fresh vegetables from the supermarket to make our own healthy meals, but it was a challenge using only a small pan and one small pot. So it's best if you just buy heat and serve prepared meals.

The wooden house was split into 3 double rooms. Staff was nice at reception house to show you the direction to your room. Hammock and chairs in the porch allow you to sit back and relax. Despite the rain and wind, the room provides shelter with authentic island experience. Car can be parked right in front, like a motel.

Located in a local residential area with narrow one-way street, it was not easy to locate the entrance by Google map. Big spider hanging in the porch area, luckily not indoor, might affect you enjoying with the hammock.

The Room was great with a great view. It was very clean and spacious. The fridge was also bigger than in most accomodations. Awesome place! Owners were very friendly

Unfortunately the wifi was broken during our stay which made planing a bit harder but it was just bad luck. Else in general it was just easily noisy tough and i would have liked a little sleep lamp or warmer light, the only light at the ceiling was very cold and felt like the ones in a dentist clinic.

Beautiful view (stayed in room 301) and to wake up by the sun made such a big impression on the whole day. The minimalistic living (but enough comfort) made me slow down and enjoy the surroundings. I really enjoyed the shower as it has a window with a view as well. The walk to Miyanoura was enjoyable and not too far, and you could take buses the days you were tired.

The bed was a little bit stiff (for a small person as myself) and there was many announcement messages going off which we couldn’t seem to turn off. We stayed during off season period in January (which was very great!) so hardly any other people staying there, but when there was, you could hear clearly through the walls the other guests.

I stayed in the annex which seemed new. There is a private patio with an ocean view. The bath area is nice and all stone. The room is all wood with tatami and futon. It was perfect for one person. more than that would have felt cramped. You can order a bento for the next day and it was perfect for the trails.

You absolutely need a car to stay here. Book your car before your hotel. It also was not clear that you need to let them know at least 3 days in advance that you want breakfast and dinner. The closest food is in the town or grocery store a few miles away and it is a huge problem without a car. They have a mini fridge and kettle. A microwave would have been nice since meals were not provided. While the room is very nice, the walls are quite thin. I could hear my neighbor cough, get up to use the bathroom at 4am, hear his whole conversation, and slam the sliding doors. They should tell their guests to be mindful of the sounds they are making because of this issue.

The room was clean, comfortable and a good size and parking was very easy. We did laundry here and used the washing machine and dryer that worked well for us (coin operated and clothes lines outside for anything you don’t want in the dryer, hangers in the room). The porch gave us a nice view of the mountain which was very lovely for relaxing in the evening. Very easy drive to many good restaurants in Miyanoura as well as supermarkets. We had really great meals at Panorama and a very local shabu shabu restaurant, both of which were totally charming. Definitely a very good base for our walks. A nice beach with a view of a tori gate in a cave is a 15min drive from the property so we relaxed there until we could check in, highly recommended way of spending the first day. We really enjoyed our stay here all in all. I’d say renting a car is a necessity. But not just to get to the property but also for comfortably getting around the island on your own schedule. We reserved with Suzuki in Miyanoura through their Japanese form on their website.

The walls are thin, the property asks people to be mindful with noise after 9.30PM but not all guests comply. Luckily we had earplugs and that was totally fine. I’d recommend ear plugs anyway because for some reason the town announcement system wished people good morning at 6.30AM on a Sunday over the communal loudspeakers and played a 7AM tune. The meal reservation system was unclear, but I’m guessing the cook was away. But that didn’t matter in the end as the town’s restaurants were really good quality and supermarkets provided us with everything else.
