The location was lovely. Our host charming and did our best to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Bathroom was clean and shower great. Bed comfy and tea/ coffee provided and a great choice. Breakfast freshly cooked and delicious Lovely host couldn’t have been nicer to us. Recommend completely

I’m not sure what happened but we’d booked for one person. How this happened I don’t know as booking.com defaults to two people. However it happened! Not impressed to receive a very curt email saying I’d booked for one and two turned up so I owed a further £60. This was not from our host who was charming about the error but I believe her daughter. We had intended to recompense the lady of course so was a bit miffed at her attitude. I did contact her to explain and say of course we would pay but had no response. I’d say to others check your booking very carefully. I didn’t to my determinant. It turned out to be an expensive error !

We had a wonderful overnight stay at this property. Linda was a fabulous host who made both us and our dog very welcome as did Maisie(the dog) and Colin ( the cat). Our room was clean and comfortable with glorious views. The breakfast was exceptional with muesli , fresh fruit salad and creme fraiche to start, followed by a full cooked breakfast, with fresh bread and home made jams, not to mention a freshly brewed cafetiere of coffee. . Would thoroughly recommend a stay in this lovely quirky cottage with an interesting history. Thank you Linda for your hospitality.

Nice room and bathroom, nice scenic garden and local grounds and a wonderful landlady with a great sense of humour. She genuinely made life really easy and went well beyond what was required of her in dropping us off and picking us up when we needed it. Some delightfully scenic walks, especially around 'The Batemans' where Kipling spent the last thirty years of his life.

Burwash is a lovely place with lovely people but I wish there was a bit more to do in the local area. Easily accessible if driving but not if you are travelling by train.

The Cottage was exceptionally cute. The hostesses were very accommodating and kind, breakfast was delicious. My dogs and I stayed for a very little while but enjoyed our stay. We only stayed a night for resting before continuing our journey so did not explore all our options/amenities. The room was comfortable and clean. The main street is not far and it is a small town but quaint and lovely. I got in much later than expected and the daughter was available by phone to assist and I was able to get in no issues.

The host, Linda, was extremely kind and personable and immediately made me feel welcome. My room was warm, clean and welcoming, with everything I needed to make my stay comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, with choices of breads, fresh fruit, yogurt and cooked items. I also asked about non-dairy milk and was immediately told that it was no problem at all, which was lovely. All in all a very pleasant overnight stay - a home from home, and one that I would happily have stayed longer at.

I stayed here with my mother, each of us staying in one of the bedrooms, and we both found them very comfortable. There was good space for bags etc and lovely views. Hers had an en suite, which looks to be newly renovated, while mine had the private external bathroom, which is in good condition and benefits from a bath tub in addition to the shower. Linda was a wonderful host, and provided a delicious breakfast each morning, served on lovely china. The furry members of the family were friendly and delightful, but also kept out of our way for meals, which was appreciated. There are some nice local walks and National Trust properties nearby.

The house is situated on a hill, which needs to be scaled to get into the village - not a problem for me but too steep for my mother to manage, so we had to drive to the pub for dinner even though it was only a short distance away. This won't be a problem for most people though. The driveway parking is also on quite a steep slope, which can be tricky if you're not used to it.

Lovely hostess - she was friendly, interesting, helpful, welcoming. Her house is in a lovely part of the country with walks and places to visit all around - and great pubs! The room and bed were comfortable with nice view to fields and woodland, breakfast was excellent too.

Parking on the steep drive was interesting - but I am from London and not used to hills!

We really loved staying at this peaceful and cosy bed and breakfast. The host was very kind and helpful. We enjoyed the silence, the surroundings were very beautifull, the house is situated in a beautifull garden with some nice places to sit and relax and right next to an open field at one side, at the other side there is also lots of open space and we had a wonderful view from our room at the surrounding hills. Our room was clean and cosy and with 2 nice windows for enough fresh air. It was great to have tea and coffee facilities in our room. There were also 2 very sweet and lovely cats, a great dog , 2 chickens and 2 lovely horses. As we love animals very much, this was very comforting and a great bonus! The breakfast was great and a nice cosy setting. We would definitely come back here in the future:)

nothing, it was realy as in my opinion an english b&b should be:)

Peace and quiet Lovely country views Fantastic breakfast

Hmmmm difficult If I had to say anything I’d say carton milk in room for tea is never very nice but I’m sure if we asked for fresh we would have got it. Oh and bed was a little hard for my liking and my getting old bones…. But absolutely nothing else.

Beautiful room, lovely views and powerful shower with a well appointed bathroom. Great to have homemade jams with breakfast and an endless supply of tea! Lovely to sit down and have a chat with the owner, thank for making me feel so welcome Natalie. It’s proximity to Batemans for a Rudyard Kipling immersion is worth a stay alone.

It’s a little bit out of the way, but that’s part of its charm. Be careful going up the stairs late at night as steep!
